  • For 20 years Andrew had focused on climbing the corporate ladder and had forged a successful career in finance and sales. While he was achieving everything he had set out to at the beginning of his career, he wasn’t fulfilled and was desperately craving a job that gave him a sense of purpose.
That’s why he joined Victoria Police - he felt a career as a police officer could give him what he was missing. As he reflects on his decision to become a police officer, he couldn’t be happier
“It’s given me a new lease of life, I feel born-again…. For anyone considering joining Victoria Police - it’s never too late. I’m 48 years old and joined three years ago, and I’ve really found it an immensely rewarding experience.”
As a Youth Resource Officer, Andrew works closely with local schools, community groups and councils to engage with young people, disrupt and prevent youth crime. Andrew loves working proactively to help the community to prevent that triple zero (000) call.
Hear Victoria Police members, like Andrew, share their career experience in policing as part of our Real Stories series.
