    wauw this was one of the most powerful performances from Rune, absolutely smacking the forehand today, hopefully he can find his way back to the top 10 because talent wise hes one of the best in the world.

      Yep, I was early on seeing a problem last year when he started "stagnating". But since wimbledon and even the tourney right before, I've noticed a change for the better. Less frustration after mistakes, more focused on the match.
      Though he still has those moments, and still does too many unforced errors but it should get better

    Rune really should be dominating alongside Alcaraz and Sinner,
    he's on par with them in power, speed, and technique
    just needs to figure out his head

      He shouldnt tho ... maybe sinner alcaraz in terms of grand slams and big matches no chance different animal alcaraz is a killer

    • @VladRadu-tq1pg
      @VladRadu-tq1pg Месяц назад +15

      nowhere near any of them in technique, his fh is incredibly funky and inconsistent. Slower than alcaraz and has less touch and feel, nowhere near as consistent and inteligent as sinner nor even remotely close as a returner.

    • @bonzwah1
      @bonzwah1 Месяц назад +18

      Maybe. Rune's forehand seems much stiffer and unnatural compared to sinner and alcaraz. You don't see it so much during his service games, because he has a very good serve which sets up easier forehands. But you see on his return games, he has a really tough time navigating his forehand during neutral rallies. He really seems to struggle to produce a powerful but measured ball on the forehand wing. One that pressures his opponent without taking on so much risk. Without this shot (really a family of shots), he just doesn't break serve very often unless he's playing a far inferior opponent.
      -
      To be clear, he has a good forehand by tour standards. It's just not anywhere near alcaraz/sinner level, and I think that's what is preventing him from being at their level consistently.
      -
      Of course, we are talking about on average. Every now and then he has a really good day on his forehand and he looks like he should be contending for grand slams.

    • @albertogmg
      @albertogmg Месяц назад +3

      First he needs to sit in the table with tstsipas, zverev, rublev.. he is far awayyet. Then and then maybe you can compare him with
      Daniil or Sinner and if reach that level maybe he can enjoy a tea with Alcaraz in his Wimbeldon house

    • @J.-M.
      @J.-M. Месяц назад +2

      There is no reason why a short player couldn't hit bombs. The height limits his angles, so he cannot hit them consistently, the margins are smaller, it's more difficult to hit the court without the serve going into the net or out. Tall players hit them routinely over and over, shorter players only occasionally. But the short stature itself doesn't prevent a player from hitting fast strokes which are mechanically just a result of fast swings. 216 km/h is pretty standard these days, almost any pro can hit it.
