My client and I have been watching this build ritually. She's a medically retired mechanical engineer whos into old school muscle and Suzuki LJ chassis. I'm a nurse with automotive passion fingers who loves their 84-87 Civic chassis and we drive around in my K swap Civic and conjure up ideas to make something like this. Thank you for continuing to inspire others.
I like the removable body idea. I think old school funny car style would be cool also. Plus you don't have to have help to lift the body. Build two pivot points in the rear so the body lifts from the front. Since it will be a street car you could make multiple places to bolt the body down. Can't wait to see it in the middle of an import meet and you fire that beast up!!! Please get something like that on video!!
So i saw this build about 2.5 weeks ago, and ive had a 95 honda hatch just sitiing outside the house for about a year with no idea what to do with it.. so this build inspired me to v8 swap it! Got an s10 frame as well and already got the build started!!
Curious why you didn't run the new frame splice all the way up to the downward transition on the front and back, then miter to match the angles and cap them. Frame would have looked awesome and given you more room for the gas and brake bro! I'm a fan regardless. Good stuff
@CaseysCustoms Makes sense. I wonder if you could swap the headers/manifolds (ie: left on right/right on left,) and have them exit towards the front and out the bottom of the front quarter panels. Not sure if the exhaust will kill you when your shredding tires though by finding its way into the car.
@@webguitars I know exactly what you mean. I just watched Tony Angelo's latest video on his Stay Tuned channel giving us a complete overview of all his projects. He built a V8 RX-7 and installed his headers that way on it. 👍
You gotta put some plexiglass windows on the transmission tunnel and dash area when you build it so you can see the drivetrain while rolling with some l.e.d lighting inside will set it off‼️
Lovin the build, but sense you reminded me; I'd love to see the turbo kit going on that old Ford truck & that tranny getting fixed...maybe I shouldn't say that in today's crazy world!
Hey Casey, you do some amazing builds and the floor looks alot better then some of the other builds, but have you thought about raptorlining the floor/interior sides later when everything is done? That wayou wont hide the sweet metalwork and you can buy tintable raptor line, put red in it and just do everything red, it will help with insolation, noise, and looks cool and is rugged!
Hey buddy I love your videos I think you do amazing work bro but I have a serious question what are you going to do for a dashboard for the car that's got me worried bro
This Frankenstein is the love child of my two favorite cars 😍😍😍😍😍😍 Instant follow without even watching yet. My first car love was a limited Teal 91' CRX Si with the sunroof back in the late 90's, and my current mid life crisis love on 4 wheels is my Inferno Orange 2011 Camaro SS Convertible with the 6.2L V8.
it wouldve been a lot more work but widening the frame untill the rails fit inside the sills under the doors wouldve solved the seating problem and the atachment to the mainhoop of the cage too , wouldve meant a big space between the front band rearpart of the frame but you couldve constructed some spaceframe type centertunnel / spine over the transmission to make the center a little stigger and then drop the floor way down in between the sill and tunnel to get the headroom could tie the middle part of the frame in with the dashbar wish ties in with the front support bars , the mainhoop ties in too the window surround / dashbar to the front and to the rear suspension points to the rear
Love the crx videos man can’t wait until it all finished up u know what would be nasty doing a wide body kit on it I bet if u made a post for a vote it would sky rocket in votes , by the way bro when u gonna start working on the blazer again ?
Hey Casey, Small problem I saw when you was welding. You welded the body to the frame or at least it looked that way. The outriggers you built, should be either bolted to the body or the frame. Could you show us closer video of that? Also if the outriggers are bolted to the frame, are you going to add support to stengthem them? One last thing, you might want to cap your tubing to keep junk out of the tubing so that it does not rust out. Bart
Invest in a small metal cutting circular saw . It will cut the tubing like butter and cut deep enough to cut through the whole thing so both sides match . If you do alot of this work it’s worth it
Amusingly enough, in ship repair we call 1/8" sheet metal. Of course, we are working upwards on 1" plate. Working heavy plate at work, I struggle doing sheet metal at the house.
As a mechanical engineer I am worried about your dropped frame rails. In my opinion the forces through the lower added part are not transferred good enough to the front and back parts of the original frame members. Extending the length of the added lower beams can help, or tying them together with well placed plates, to extend the length and connect to the front and rear frame. I'd hate to see this frame bend up.
Bro I love this project!! Keep this shit up!!! I’m am not a frame builder at all so feel free to tell me I’m wrong and to shut up and enjoy the videos😂 what about boxing up from and back and laying the 2x4 inner frame sideways and get even more clearance? I’m sure there are problems with that idea but hey
Smart thing to do would be fuel injection then your throttle body sticks out the front of the intake manifold so then you'd be able to run any c.a.i. really not to mention more power can be had from fuel injection with the tuning abilities
Joe from western mountains Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 awesome what you do appreciate your work and social time jojojojojojojo well deserved appreciate your hard work
I think instead of body off to work on engine you should do like an old school funny car flip up body! Like hing it on the rear bumper! That would be awesome and no one on RUclips has done it that I've saw! Awesome car!
Learn how to hot tack on the tricky situations when getting a piece to form fit. Tack weld then immediately smash it into place with a hammer on top of that tack and it will smush
ok so you have some sheet metal in the car but still have a ton of work to do you. you have to make some sort of cover over the engine and transmission a short drive line then the steering and wire up a custom dash is that about what will happen in following videos?
Yeah I'm definitely a big fan of this yeah I've seen one at drag week Jeffrey Lutz has a 1989 Honda Civic that has a 350 small block Chevy with twin turbos and the dash and its rear wheel drive go check it out if you guys get a chance that thing is pushing sevens down the drag strip
Why didn't you welded the new brace all the way through, how come it's only spot welded, wouldn't that be structure issue its not welded all the way....
Its looking good but im curious about 2 things. I know you said that you want the body to come off in the video but with all the welding you just did it looks like you solid welded all that stuff from the body to frame. And underneath that floor section you just built, theres jagged pieces of Honda floor left. Are you just mocking this stuff up and going to get in there and clean that all up or was that something you left for.a reason. Anyway that was all. Ots looking great. Only big thing id suggest different wouldve been to try to move the whole front crossmember forward or cut and rebuild it to accept the motor going forward. I understand you have steering that you need to keep in mind and it would be a whole lot more work but i think it could be done. Love the project though cant wait to see how it comes out
Still don’t understand why u didn’t run the Motor as forward as u could . Would have made it easier for more foot room . But I am enjoying the videos man .

Gotta say this is my favorite project on RUclips right now

A 91 Prelude would be an awesome build also..
Casey still deserves his own TV show
This is his own show tf 😂
What’s a true hot rod? Taking parts and going fast is a true bad ass hot rod monster. Love the build.

I love how you laugh at your work, cracks me up. The new flooring looks great.
By far the coolest build yet 😎
You should do a tubular k member. Will look much cleaner and give you more room for the crank pulley... I love this build good job!
Curious why you didn't run the new frame splice all the way up to the downward transition on the front and back, then miter to match the angles and cap them. Frame would have looked awesome and given you more room for the gas and brake bro! I'm a fan regardless. Good stuff
I might still, but right now In the front I’m planing on my exhaust to go out right there so I’m leaving it open for now. If that makes sense
@CaseysCustoms Makes sense. I wonder if you could swap the headers/manifolds (ie: left on right/right on left,) and have them exit towards the front and out the bottom of the front quarter panels. I seriously look forward to these videos.
🤯 insane build, coolest yet💪🔥
Looks great Casey 👍 👌
I like your "engineering on the fly" . Good job!!
I have had two of these cars, so hyped to see how this ends up.
I have one of these cars too. Can't wait to see it going down the road
I’m so happy that your so happy. And seeing how happy you are with the floor mods I’m happy too. Looks AWESOME
Just let the unibrow connect. 😂 I dig the build. 👍
You gotta put some plexiglass windows on the transmission tunnel and dash area when you build it so you can see the drivetrain while rolling with some l.e.d lighting inside will set it off‼️
This crx is going to be one insane car when it is done.
Another crazy day at the loon bin, love it!!! 👍🏼👌🏼
Just started watching already a banger, love the work keep it up!
🙌🙌
Fantastic build, this is going to be the coolest CRX ever.
Love the crx videos ❤
Casey, this project is absolutly nuts and I cant wait to see what comes next!
You are so talented and very fun to hang out with ...I hope you can do these things for years to come ...you are a MANS MAN
Air 90° with a cut wheel would have been the way to go bro
Casey, it feels like you're borderline building a CRX funny car, maybe Hinge the trunk and the whole body can act just as a funny car.
Lovin the build, but sense you reminded me; I'd love to see the turbo kit going on that old Ford truck & that tranny getting fixed...maybe I shouldn't say that in today's crazy world!
Yo Casey I think it would be dope if you built it into a dragster with wheelie bars and a Parachute
Great Job like always!! I Love the frame trick!!

with a turbo it could be a sleeper/hellcat killer ;P
I can't wait to see it run with the body the very first custom Honda v8 LMAO 😂

Put the turbo on the Honda then you don’t have to run the exhaust out the back more room for the steering.

Most factory cars I've seen has the beads facing down, that way you have that 1/4 inch more space...
I think instead of body off to work on engine you should do like an old school funny car flip up body! Like hing it on the rear bumper! That would be awesome and no one on RUclips has done it that I've saw! Awesome car!

She's looking great, brah.
Are you gonna cap the frame rail you laid on the bottom so it isn’t a mud scoop?
ok so you have some sheet metal in the car but still have a ton of work to do you. you have to make some sort of cover over the engine and transmission a short drive line then the steering and wire up a custom dash is that about what will happen in following videos?
Cool build, watcha gonna do with the air cleaner? 😎
Damn bro, you are killing it, this is going to be a badass ride.👌👍👌🔥🔥🔥
Some good progress 👍
You gonna cap the new frame rail pieces probably gonna collect a ton of stuff may even whistle when you drive
Love to content builds are so dope.
keep doing im following it non stop
Run a tech deck down the halfpipe you made in your frame, For the boys!
A great journey to watch!
Thank you!
should look into getting an evolution saw cuts 1/4 steel like its nothing
Good job man 💪
Aww love you too Casey
Why didn't you welded the new brace all the way through, how come it's only spot welded, wouldn't that be structure issue its not welded all the way....
how wouldve the portaband saw wouldve done in that space?
Looks amazing
Tony Stark would add a little gold to the hot rod red.
That is true i just didn’t have any
Ian roussel laid a frame on a build sideways like that for the same reason
I’d totally buy a “Giant pain in the 🍑 “ shirt if it was available in grey or white. Hoodies… any color. Cheers man. Love your work
Love this 😂
Does it need WD-40 or is the shell tweeked?

Bro you welded the floor onto the frame. I beleave you won't be able to remove it
a little shocked you did not run the welds the whole length.... but I'm not a welder
Love it. Getter Duuuun
What if you hinged your windshield like a rear window? Then you wouldn't have to make the body removable....
THANK YOU
Let's go
Impala video plzzz
Looking so good
Portable band saw, gets the tight cuts straight
Is that a 350 engine ? Another question why didnt you ls swap it
