      If you listen to no other comment or reply, you need to listen to this..The down bar through the firewall to frame on the drivers side and even pass sides need to be moved over towards the outside of the car. Pointing on an angle so that if it were to ever get wrecked there is no chance of the weld breaking and the bar impaleing you. You want them angled towards the a pillar/ door area..Not towards the seats a foot out in the car.

  • @Travis7109
    @Travis7109 Год назад +16

    I suggest a quick connect on the firewall to disconnect your engine wiring from your body wiring. Save yourself the headache in the future when you end up having to pull the body

    That's my 10mm socket. Reminds me of helping a friend who went to a local mechanic to determine if the tensioner pulley or the alternator needed replacement due to belt squealing. They said it only needed to be tighten. Well the squealing returned. I looked at it. There was a pry bar and the lower bolt was loose with a socket still on it

    I'm doing a very similar build (not bagged). I made frame rail plates that are unboltable similar to a camaro front subframe. If I need to change the motor, I just jack the car up and roll the entire engine/trans out from under the car on the front suspension as one unit (I just need to disconnect the front brake calipers and hang them out of the way).

    • @michaelbrinks8089
      @michaelbrinks8089 Год назад

      You might know......I'm curious if using Corvette style drive train with a lighter manual gearbox in the rear. Would make the car handle alot better 🆚 V8 and automatic trans up front. He has the engine pretty far back. So I'm guessing that helps. Instead of a rear mid engine, it almost seems like front mid engine.

      That is how lots of others have done it as well. I wanted it to lay rockers and not have a giant hood scoop or giant wild body kit so this is how i went about it. You can do a chassis swap with a couple
