I bought my Fabre castle Pitt pastels open stock for colours I knew that I would need as background colours. I usually do my backgrounds first as they are easily erasable if you smudge them into the picture. They were not cheap at $4.00 Australian open stock and I love them dearly. I bought eye shadow applicators to get into tiny spaces though I much prefer using my fingers. Much love & *virtual hugs* and a very special Christmas ❤

That they can be easily erased is a big benefit. I like to color details with them, but I wish there would be some good sharpener that could handle them :-D Merry Christmas to you🎄🌻

Get a M.R sharpener, the 3 hole is best because you can just sharpen the tip (or inner lead) or you can sharpen the pencil with hole 3, or just the wood with hole 2. It works great with German steel. I like the 3 hole manganese M & R sharpener as it is honestly the best I have bought and it was $10 Australian which isn't much for such a versatile triangle sharpener. Merry Christmas Neko, I hope this helps you save your pencils. I use mine for all my very expensive pencils and my Pitt pastels xxx

Thank you! Those are lovely. I was thinking of those or Generals or Stabillo for a future purchase when I find a good deal.

Stabilo are good as well. I like that both sets have really different shades. I will have a quick video where I will swatch both sets, so you can see the colors of both sets.

Which paper did you use for swatching? Sounds Sandy?! Thanks.

Ooh it's just a printer paper. It sounds sandy because they are soft/chalk pastels :)
