Hi Andy ... I am a retired grandpa and am building my first ever diorama with (sort of) my 8 yr old grandson. I've watched several hours of videos and began the model ... but I learned more useful information from this video than all the others combined. Many thanks from a happy grandpa.
this is the best comment.
I know I am very late to the party ... but I am a some-what new modeler and diorama builder, I have an idea in mind for a diorama from this video. Thank you so much for sharing this info!❤
Your music choices get me every time. Well done.
With the water bit as Bob Ross would say "There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents"
The visitors to your shop is a nice add on
Great job, I love the white ripples in the water. One minor critique would be to slightly rut the boards where the dirt track meets the bridge on either side. Great job
So helpful Andy I will definitely if I’m ever in Arizona I will be sure to stop by
The end result is absolutely stunning, amazing work.
Total Awesomeness....
Love the Diorama Videos.
Keep them coming Andy... Thanks......
just like Andy, I love your work, finally you're building again. best regards Thomas
This is real nice.
Try the bridgedeck with a small gap, maybe a 1mm or less, betwen the floorboards.
The diarama of the bridge & road, a great result,Andy. Very realistic.
From one Andy to another. Great Work!! I have built plenty of scenery and dioramas in the past. I don't use foam boards. I found that ceiling tiles work very well. The layers it makes are wonderful. Thanks again!!
Amazing piece of work Andy
A true artist
Really sweet diorama build. Love the bridge and water scene.
Love the channel, the commentary and the music. Keep em’ coming!
Unreal Show, water was a brilliant mistake!
When you took it outside, you took it to another level, i heard military documentary Music.
Forty minutes of info, You Beauty Mate.
Excellent tutorial Andy, thanks! And some great comments/suggestions by other modellers 👍
Great job Andy! That diorama ready turned out awesome. You are areal artist with all your builds. Take care.
I really love your tutorials
Lovely Andy well done. Luke really is an inspiration for this sort of stuff.
Excellent introductory presentation. Once again thank you Andy for your inspiring videos.
Andy, I really like this bridge setting! It is easy to imagine this could have been, or still is, a stream crossing for a village, and any amount of the sorted traffic. I would have colored the bridge darker, in the onset, but it turned out beautifully with the addition of those wonderful ripples! Those ripples made this into a super-class exhibit!
Absolutely amazing. Really love these diorama videos..
Looks very very good, those tree's are fantastic as well! Great little setting that can be used for nearly any era and location. I'll certainly have to look at getting some of those tree's.
Love the background to these videos. So much valuable techniques & how to's. Thanks.
Thank you, beautiful work. Enjoyed all your tips and recommendations.
Another nice build! Water looks great.
a well built diorama Andy the bridge is first class nice to see you build other things as well as afv nice work
Great job, Andy!
Great job Andy
[thank, you for youre great video]👍
I've been meaning to say something about the music also. I love it. In my neck of the woods I'm alone in being a classical lover.
Very nice, especially outside in the natural light.
this has to be your best dio yet
Outstanding, I love it, the trees are spot on😎.
Just another absolutely incredible Build Andy!! I love your work and since I am just starting out, I learn something new every time I watch!!
Big 👍Andy back to the old bread n butter of the channel love it and keep it up 👍👍👍🏴
Once again bloody good job and I love how you explain the steps and the products you use so glad I found your site awesome.
Overall a beautiful job. I'm amazed at the new products available to build dioramas. Would have made life a little easier. Thanks.
Clever, creative and realistic...what a pleasure to look at such a wonderful job!
Cool to see some fellow Kentuckians. Great work on the dio Andy
Thank you so very much... videos like this inspire me to do more, do better and as always, keep having fun!!! Awesome video, thank you again!!!
Always a great time watching your videos man. Thanks for the hard work! 👍🏻👍🏻
That looks great, Andy! I've got an old Revell kit from the 60s for an M48 armored vehicle launched bridge. I now know what I'm gonna do with it!..
Wow that's just awesome. I'm new to modeling and I've been looking everywhere to find someone that has shown me a way to get started trying this. The foam starter base is what I like. You can get a lot for a descent price at a hardware store. Now I've gotta basic platform to get started. Thanks Andy for the video. It has helped me more than any I've watched thus far. I'll take any advice from anyone on a reply. Tks
Andy, your the best! Love your videos.
Nice super trees
Nice job. Just one quick tip, I've been working with the pink and blue foam for a while and I've found if you use a wire brush to "rough" up the mating surfaces of the foam and all the surfaces that are being covered with plaster and/or sculpt-a-mold, everything adheres much better. And if you are just painting the foam itself just hit it with some fine sand paper.
Great video … Love the trees...……. Thank You...
I recently subscribed to Luke Towan's page and after catching up on his videos I can see some of his influence in your work on this diorama versus some of your older diorama's and I've got to say I like the outcome. Keep up the awesome work Andy and congratulations on 100k Subs!
I must admit when you were painting the bridge I thought ‘What the hell is he doing?! That doesn’t look good’ but afterwards it came out a treat! Looks really good. TFS!
Another great video. Thanks Andy!
Absolutely beautiful, great Work .
Looks good👍 I like that the water is not so blue looks real.
Looks fantastic!! You make it look easy!
You do great work Andy! Looks very real! 👍👍
looks great
Excelente trabajo
Beautiful work and very artistic....I shudder to think the cost for an average person to build these dioramas...I would have to stop paying for my heart medication lol
Nice work! TIP- Don't be afraid to put plants and leaves in the water. Real water has plenty of greenery in it. 2 days is nowhere near enough time for that WS water effect to dry. The thicker it is, the longer it takes to dry. It will dry completely clear and will need some sort of tinting or paint.
Very nice job
Amdy's Hobby Head quarters.
Real cool Model an very well made Andy. Super cool.
You are so talented, congratulations. It looks so real.
One other comment, not criticism! I love your work! Typically wooden deck bridges have a wear surface added in flat lumber where the tires or tracks would run. This ensures the structure of the bridge is unaffected by wear and tear resulting from traffic. Makes maintenance much easier also. Luckily, it also gives an excellent opportunity for modellers to add some real wear and tear and weathering effects. Once again, love your work!
Great work!
Looks great👍
You should try and make one of the dioramas in 1/48. I think that'd be neat.
Thanks for sharing. Already know this is gonna be a good one.
Andy is awesome. So creative.
Congratulations on your 100K membership roster. I just watched the thank you video. Well done and here's hoping for another 100K very soon.
Excellent!......Really enjoyed the making of it......was great!
Nice dio!
Add a few puddles in your road with ruts and tire tracks. Nice job. I concur with many of the comments below.
Looks great, Andy.
Great job as usual. Just 2 things I noticed:
First, with a wooden bridge in a dirt road, you’re expect the planks at the beginning and end to be worn, maybe even bent and splintered. Also the constant wheel traffic over the bridge would cause slight indents of a lighter color as the wood constantly gets ‘sanded’ by wheels and grit.
Secondly, the middle supports in the water look completely dry. Wood soaks up water so you’d expect the wood to be wet at least a foot or so above the water line in a fast flowing river, from soaking and spray. Same for the river banks, the need to be wetter. I usually do this by mixing clear gloss with a few drops of black and airbrushing along the water line.
WTF? Why so serious? Love to see your youtube video showing your skills. I love Andys videos
He just gave some tips. No need to be so offended.
Yep. Just some hints for realism. But sometimes realistic is not worth the effort and a model can be fine with inaccuracies. Andy once painted an ISU 152 Nato Green.
no it s not..making comments and positive (!) criticism is much easier.
DasPoop2012 *Gives friendly tips and ideas, as politely as one could* >>>> "WTF? Why so serious?"
Wot
Great looking Dio Andy.
Great diorama, just the wooden plank at the front of the bridge may be better with front edge wearing where vehicles hit entering the bridge.
great diorama. I think the type 16 looks more to scale on your bridge and railing.
GOOD JOB MAN CAME OUT KILLER
Awesome build andy. :)
What a work andy! 👏👍✌🙈😎
Yes, I think so too👍
Good fast work.
Can you tell us how long in working hours you'd spent (outside the drying periods) on this diorama ?
Sure, a few features could have been improved to the life likeness. But that could last forever.
What I am missing is a "story" in the diorama.
This scene, even with better dirt, puddles, wear, foliage..is still dull.
Especially in a modelmaking convention, noone is giving this more attention than a glance.
But a STORY image, would keep attention.
Examples; german soldiers checking the bridge for fear of it not holding the manouvring stug.
Or an SOE team under the bridge not quite ready to finish the explosive charges, and now being caught on that spot.
..
Even if the figures are painted imperfect, it still gives more eye candy delight.
Great looking diorama Andy
good work Andy, looking great
Ah, I see Phoenix is getting Detroit weather right now. :V
Also, this came out wonderfully, great job on it. I need to make more dioramas I think.
Awesome job Andy you are a true artist always in joy your videos can't wait to make it out to meet you in person
Great work its beautiful
turn out great
Brilliant
Very great work Andy!
Yes, I think so too👍
Master craftsman!
That bridge needs a Jagdtiger. :-)
Great diorama, Andy ! And congrats with the 100K !!
its going to make the bridge collapse!
Awesome!
Now this is a project I'll definitely follow! Looks to be a real labour of love as there's so much detail can go into it. I can't believe I'd never heard of RT Dioramas before. I've just had a look at their website and there's some fantastic stuff on there and they seem to be reasonably priced too. This means I can hopefully give up on Miniart buildings and the stress that they bring with them LOL. Mind you looking at their website they seem to have stopped making most of them. Keep up the good work Andy, always informative and emjoyable videos.
Everything looks realistic..... but not the construction. ... the construction is more than unreal!
Hello Andy, looks so great!
Awesome I love it great job. Just being helpful by saying this, if you want to save your tamiya paint go to Walmart in craft section and get the acrylic paint. Its cheap goes a long way. I use it on my dioramas so I don't have to use all of my tamiya paint. Just helping you out. Up to you i just brush it on. Once again awesome work.
Great job Andy! The only thing I don't like is your solution with the hot glue.
Absolutely awesome.....
