The originals were made out of aluminum, which have 30% the weight of copper, plus copper is softer and weaker than the aluminum so it would need to be made thicker as well, making it FARRRR heavier than aluminum, and substantially heavier than even a steel body would be.

The copper is 406 lbs heavier. The aluminum AC Cobra 289 only weighs 2100 lbs. You don't think adding 406 lbs (20% increase) to it, is dramatic?
