- Wrap yourself in the luxury of crocheted cables! Named for one of the Aran Isles off the West Coast of Ireland, this poncho features several cabling stitches, a stunning lace trim, and a buttoned collar that can be worn 2 different ways. The complete video tutorial will lead you every step of the way, demystifying these seemingly complicated stitches.
CORRECTION ON PERIMETER ROUND: At time mark 37:27 you should have 121 sts across the long ends instead of 131 sts.

Yarn: 10 hanks of Berroco Vintage, #4 weight (52% acrylic, 40% wool, 2% nylon, 3.5 oz/100 g, 218 yds/200 m), color #5101

Hook: Size J (or 10/6.00 mm)
Notions: scissors, yarn needle, stitch marker, 2 buttons for collar (can be between 1 to 1 1/4"), measuring tape, {Optional: 3 stitch markers, a set of Knit Clips when crocheting panels together (Large pins can also be used in place of Knit Clips.)}

For those at more beginning, beginning intermediate levels, suggest making swatches of the more intricate stitches, so you become very familiar w/them BEFORE attempting the project. Will speed things along for you immensely!!! And you won’t get frustrated working in your poncho!!
Also remember to do starting chain loose!!

When I saw how incredibly beautiful this poncho is, I was sure it would be very difficult to make. Your tutorial makes it look like something I could do. I need to make one of these for my daughter for this coming winter.
Ms. Bonnie. I've just completed my first panel. I love this design. It is tough on the fingers on rows 2 and 3 for sure but for the most part I was fine. I did enjoy the large honeycomb. This was my first time with that and the cable stitch. I have done the Celtic weave on another one of your designs. I believe it was the sports poncho, so that was the easy part for me. I dont have blocking boards but I did mark spots on my garage door and just pinned it with thumbtacks and it's works for now. I will continue with the second panel and now I cant wait to join the 2 panels together ❤ I love your designs and appreciate you so much. 🥰 Thank you thank you!!!! Hello 👋 Isle of Man 🇮🇲 here 😊 I completed mine last night. I wasn’t sure about the lace edging but I had the yarn so why not 👍 made with a 6mm hook and WI Denim soft and smooth Aran yarn. Beautiful. Thank you for clear instructions again

I love this video. I'm on row 19, and there wasn't a gauge stated in the video and I didn't see one in the comments, but I tend to crochet fairly loose, and being too small wasn't really a concern in my mind. That said, I'm thinking it is now, because my work right now is only about 33 inches long, which doesn't seem right.
Yes, I always have the gauge in the written pattern only. Each panel should measure approx. 18" x 33" before joining.
