Easy. Flying coasters, inverted, dive machines, launched coasters and 4ds = front row. B&M loopers. 3rd or 4th row usually the smoothest. Hypers, gigas, rmcs and woodies = back row
Aoyama is amazing SAME!!😂 The other day me and my bff went to worlds of Fun and there was a ride with 12 seats and we sat in the seat that was number 6 😂

My friend is an enthusiast but with little credits, and he was surprised about the back row being more intense. He said "whaaa imagine a first timer thinking the back row is less scary and then..." lol
Very informative and accurate. However, you failed to mention how the length of the train heavily affects the ride experience. For example a dive machine has shorter trains which neutralizes the hang-and-drop forces, while a new gen B&M Hyper will have long trains to maximize the airtime gained on each extremity. Soz for the long comment :)
It's self implied that the length of the train will make this effect larger or smaller, or at least I felt it was when reading through the script. You're certainly right though. The closer the rows are to the 'middle' of the train the less of an effect it will have :)
Sometimes they tell me what line to go in like, "How big is your party?" If I say 2 or something they have certain seats for the group of people I have with me.
Intamin prefab:long train-15~18 rows Front for good ejector Back for great 1st drop or sustained air b&m dive: 1st row:great holding brake but meh drop 2nd row: good holding brake good drop 3rd row: HELLA Airtime(whipped over 90°)
My son didn't believe that your position in the train could make that much of a difference. We had just gotten off Superman: Ultimate Flight, riding in the middle, so we got right back on and rode in the last row. That pretzel loop is an entirely different story from the back, which demonstrated my point nicely.
My favorite seat is the back most of the time, but on some twister coasters I prefer the front. I always stay away from the middle though lol. I also enjoy well themed coasters a little more in the front so I can see all the cool stuff.
Backseat: Best for coasters that lift up and drop then. (Rides with just one car excluded such as Saw The Ride, Thorpe Park) Front Seat: Best for rollercoasters that get accelerated so all the wind comes in your face and you'll have a view. Middle Seat: For rollercoasters that go back on the rails like Tigris , Busch Gardens Tampa or Speed of Sound, Walibi Holland.
if you want to have the most fun, or maybe want to ride with someone who doesn’t like coasters, go in the center or front. If you want intensity from the drop to the end, -or if you’re 12 years old,- go in the back, if you want views and less (perceivable) intensity (the forces on the front and back are relatively the same except for the first drop) The length of the train is directly related to how different the front, middle, and back experiences will be.
I most commonly sit at the back of a roller coaster. I love being pulled of the crests of hills. When I rode Th13teen for the first time, I sat in the very back row and my entire body felt like it was being stretched as I went down the drop. One of the best roller coaster drops I've ever experienced.

For anyone going to Thorpe park in the UK try to ride swarm on the front right seat right at the edge. I purposefully choose to sit there to experience the wing tilt up to the highest point before twisting down leftwards into the first corkscrew. It felt amazing!
For most sit-down roller coasters that have those big famous drops my vote will always be the back row, especially for wooden coasters. The extra pull from the rest of the train ahead of you makes the experience so much better in my opinion
Tatsu front row is a must! Also thanks for recording our 2018 senior circle, what a small world to find another KR family member in an unrelated comment section
I almost always go in the back for the extra forces over drops and hills but I do love the front row as long as I don’t have to wait an extra 30 minutes because everyone flocks to the front!
On roller coasters that are really intense and compact like the smiler i prefer to sit in the front row, even though there is usually like two rows on roller coasters like that it still makes a difference, i also prefer the front row on dive coasters, and b&m hyper coasters. I prefer the back row on intense wooden coasters, stuff made by gci, gravity group, rmc, and intamin prefabricated rides like el toro. I dont have a preferred seat on launched coasters.
2:06 I think I’ve been on that roller coaster It’s the DC HyperCoaster in Australia, Gold Coast. And the theme park is called Movie World I live right across the road from movieworld
...and don't forget how to discover real B&M Hyper Enthusiasts! They will sit in the middle of the train, because there will be the perfect floating airtime at 0G!
Ever since I have rode coasters when I was younger I have always been a Back Row Rider even to this day. As a coaster enthusiast the feel of getting airtime and getting wiped around and going fast is one of my favorite feelings on any roller coaster which is why I will always ride back row on any coaster.
I agree with most everything said. I like the last car for speed, but (before they removed it) I liked the front car for the Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Va. The cars hung from a rail and then the track raced through a village and tight paths between trees. The passing of so many verticals close to the cars gave the impression of it going faster than it actually was.
Here's the short answer.
Back: faster/whips more/bumpy
Front: best view/more wind
Middle: safe bet if it's your first time/best line
@** you do you boo lol

I feel like the front row on mako is better i got way more air time from those hills
For anyone going to Thorpe park in the UK try to ride swarm on the front right seat right at the edge. I purposefully choose to sit there to experience the wing tilt up to the highest point before twisting down leftwards into the first corkscrew. It felt amazing!
I'm a true back row guy and I always have been
For most sit-down roller coasters that have those big famous drops my vote will always be the back row, especially for wooden coasters. The extra pull from the rest of the train ahead of you makes the experience so much better in my opinion
GP: FRONTTTT!
Enthusiasts: Back! (Rarely front)
There should be a queue for the back row, called the 'enthusiasts queue'
Great video!
X2/Tatsu: front row
Any RMC: Back row
Tatsu front row is a must! Also thanks for recording our 2018 senior circle, what a small world to find another KR family member in an unrelated comment section
Thank you! :)
Emiliano Damian oh nice! Glad you like it. Are you in band? Aidan’s my cousin
front seat is the best by far
Edit: you get more air time in the back tho
I almost always go in the back for the extra forces over drops and hills but I do love the front row as long as I don’t have to wait an extra 30 minutes because everyone flocks to the front!
Very true!
Thx now i dont need to explain my GP friends
3:08 that ride is really scary btw
It really is! ;)
COASTER BOT glad I’m not the only one XD
On roller coasters that are really intense and compact like the smiler i prefer to sit in the front row, even though there is usually like two rows on roller coasters like that it still makes a difference, i also prefer the front row on dive coasters, and b&m hyper coasters. I prefer the back row on intense wooden coasters, stuff made by gci, gravity group, rmc, and intamin prefabricated rides like el toro. I dont have a preferred seat on launched coasters.

I think I’ve been on that roller coaster
It’s the DC HyperCoaster in Australia, Gold Coast. And the theme park is called Movie World
I live right across the road from movieworld
that's mako at seaworld orlando
...and don't forget how to discover real B&M Hyper Enthusiasts!
Your voice is honestly so soothing and the way you describe things make it so easy to understand :)
Thank you, this comment is extremely kind, I really appreciate it :)
