Hey! props to Josh Rilko, mandolin, also for bringing the appropriate vocal harmony in this delicate setting. Any wrong pitch would really have shown up. Thanks, @wrothman, I wouldn't have known Gum Tree Canoe is like, wow, 176 YEARS OLD :-)
Absolutely gorgeous rendition of this wonderful song. I especially love the way Sierra's voice "floats like a feather" when she sings those words. By the way, the song wasn't written by John Hartford. It was written in 1847 by S. S. Steele and was often performed-usually in faux Black dialect-as part of minstrel shows.
Have to agree with you Buckdancer. This bluegrass set, filled with John Hartford classics overlapped with the Drive-by Truckers set. I set aside my disappointment and attended this amazing musical moment.
Shes a doll. I love watching her get bigger and bigger. She deserves it. God bless her shes the real deal. Talent.
You said it all ! 💜
Not quite all; she is also a Badass!

Love it! Thanks for posting, I thought I seen every Sierra RUclips.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can’t wait to see Sierra this July…She’s a breath of fresh air
I was there, it was wonderful. Rachel Baiman did a John Hartford tribute with the performers of the festival.

Sierra is the queen of music

Wow awsome voice.
Put this on repeat.
Not sure about the bonkers wardrobe choices but every part of the vocals and music was divine!
@@po5586 You nailed it in your reply. Just look at the some of the pop stars are wearing these days.

Lovin' this! Great voice, great band :)
This guitarist though!!!!
Ya'll can thank me for discovering Sierra Ferrell. Josie Toney is a star too.
Thank you!
It’s amazing how many songs y’all memorize very sharp minds ! Sierra with perfect melody and Josh and Josey make their instruments just about speak!
This is as good as it gets kids.

John would be proud!
As would the ubiquitous SS Steele.
Gorgeous, but where's the soft shoe shuffle eh??? ;-)
The hardest working band in the biz...
Hermosa música
In case no one noticed, that guitar player killed his solo. Anybody know who that cat is?
Is it Jacob Groopman from Front Country?
My God!
It's funny
Little shaky on the lyrics but good save.👍
Josie looks like a Greek statue here.
Little RaRa
Steals the show again!
Making music great again
