Bought this bass on a whim with some tax refund money. At the time I was looking for a 5-string, wood body, and $500 price range. Love the range and versatility it provides. No regrets.
Awesome review brother! I’m a 50 year old percussionist , new on the bass, already had 2 but found this one for 389.00 on a color called midnight grey burst … I love it!!!!!! Guys that work at the store was trying to hide it to buy it 😂

Thank you for the review of this Bass. I was looking at the Ibanez EDA 900 Ergodyne 5 string but they are very hard to come by. Then I seen this bass and I was hoping someone did a review on it. This is going to be my go to Bass( I play for church ) and this will fit quite nicely. The overall sound of this bass is great...and those pickups are wonderful with the power tap. Sky Veil Matt is the finish. Awsome Bass guitar
yesterday, I was at a local restaurant outdoor party.. Nicko Mcbrain ( Iron Maiden ) was playing with his local group ( not Iron Maiden ) his bass player was using this exact bass in Blk! trust me it was this model… I was right in front couldn’t believe but yeah hmnn.. I’m thinking about picking one up
i Have 305 the Root Beer ,love the color an your right you can set it how ever you like,many tones,i rasied the intonation.on mine ,it was pretty low out of the box ,would rattle the frets,once adjusted it plays like butter smooth i have a 505 love it to,i play the root beer mostly , thanks for the review ,i get a lot of comments on the sound an the color of the bass,
I love Ibanez! Those basses sound good and great necks too.I really that Root Beer color! I was looking at a used SR305 online in a Maroon color,but I like the Root Beer metallic!
I have the dark blue metallic 305. I love it too. Although, playing metal in a really loud band sometimes the D and G string notes get lost in the mix. So, I just thin it out by turning up mid knob and I'm back in the fight :) I'm getting the white one next to keep tuned down all the time and keep the blue on in standard all the time. I can get 3 of these for the price of 1 Mustang and I get an extra string :)
HEY J...... BOUGHT THIS SAME COLOR LAST NIGHT. GUITAR CENTER IN KANSAS. I HAVE MANY BASS..63 YEARS OLD, PLAYING IN BANDS FOR YEARS... BUT THESE ARE SOME GREAT BASS .WITH GREAT SOUND YOU ARE RIGHT.
A beautiful looking thing, lovely sound but I had a metallic candy apple red SR305 & it's string spacings were a nightmare for my fat fingertips. Those with smaller fingertips, this won't affect you. My 305 was the version had no Power Tap Switch either. I'm sticking with 4-strings from now on..

I have the M2 (4 string) and it’s great. Fantastic straight and FAST neck. This weekend while in Chicago, I played basses at Sam Ash, Guitar center and on way home Sweetwater, in Fort Wayne IA. After coming home, I played the Ibanez 305. I think the Ibanez might have been the most enjoyable bass having the best combination of looks, tone, balance, feel, weight etc. Forget the low price! It’s a great instrument.
Looking for my second bass rn (i have an sx fender jazz rn) and this one is really getting my attention! Do you think this will be a good upgrade from that? And also how would you describe the switch from a 4-string to a 5 string?
Yes it would be. The switch from a four string is mostly mental. Adding a fifth string doesn't change much to finger positioning. It actually makes it easier and gives you a lower register to work with. A four string bass in my opinion is a little more complicated to work with than a 5 string because you have to run the neck to get to notes that you could reach on a 5 string easily. Sorry to say : any Sire bass from the cheapest to them who cost more best any other basses . Sire best bass for the money anf thats my opinion and I have had all kinds of basses exept Fodera .
