  • Welcome to my brand-new project! For the past couple months I've been working on searching for the origins of as many sound effects used for a variety of videogame series as I could, and the results so far have been fruitful to say the least! And I thought where best to start with showcasing my hundreds of finds than with the purple dragon himself?
This first SFX showcase covers over sixty Spyro trilogy sound effects (either partially or entirely) as well as a small handful of my current finds from later Spyro games as an extra bonus. This is just the tip of the iceberg too, expect MANY follow ups for both Spyro and a ton of other IP's in the near future ;)
Also I forgot to mention it in the video's intro, but the numbers next to the game SFX names represent the file number of each sound effect when ripped from the WAD files of a PAL ISO of the games using PSound. Thought it was a decent way to keep track of where sounds are as that is a common sfx rip method for PS1 games. Cutscene sounds obviously do not have these.

This video is not monetized, and I do not own any rights to Spyro The Dragon.

Can't believe how much time you poured into this. If the spyro fangame community wasn't effectively killed off by Activision, I'm sure these finds would have been really helpful to fans. Maybe they still can be to the rising movement of low poly indie games? As is now, though, this is quite curiosity satiating, and I'll check out future sfx videos whenever they do come out.

That Thief sound was definitely one of the surprises so far, considering a large chunk of the enemy sounds in the trilogy are custom recorded by Universal. I had heard that voice clip in other games before but somehow didn't realise it was that haha.
There's definitely a lot more enemy sounds from various games coming in the pipeline if that's your main thing :)

The next 4 or 5 videos (at least) are already set in stone content wise as I have hundreds of finds ready to go, and I don't really have any history or knowledge with those two games, but I may look into them in the future.
