Another great video, thanks guys. Love the longer format - I can sit down with a cuppa and really enjoy it. Will definitely put Pakawau on my list of destinations for the summer.

cheers mate and welcome. Glad you enjoy the longer videos and yeah hopefully you get a chance to head out there in summer. Gets quite busy during school holidays but nice and quiet at other times.

Thanks for the informative video. That camp is on our list. We have a Takacat I was thinking launching just before high tide and fishing for an hour or so is that workable? dont want to get caught dragging the boat over a long beach like you guys. Thanks.

cheers mate. Yeah fishing over high tide is a lot easier. I'd say 1.5 to 2 hours each side of high tide is still very easy to launch without having to drag it through soft sand. So you could get a 3 to 4 hours of fishing easily.

A great New Zealand camping and fishing video. The tastiest meat is in the head of the fish and then the "wings" and backbone.

3:49 you used to be able to see the roof of the RAT TRAP pub from up there, painted with RAT TRAP lettering in bolds black on yellow. A very unique pub with animal skins on the walls and taxidermy abound. The place is long gone now, due to some very interesting circumstances. Not much to be found online, but locally, the stories abound.

thanks mate, yeah that would have been us - we're temporarily in Nelson :) The Anatoki river mouth looks like a great spot. Next time we'll head out there. I heard that this place can be a bit noisy and uncomfortable on weekends as it is a favourite for dirt bikers and beach racers.

Great video it will be very helpful for anyone planning a trip. Takaka hill is better on a motorbike 😊. My last 2 trips up Golden Bay I've been touring on my Adventure bike. Beautiful part of the country that's for sure. I got up to the Cobb reservoir and camped up by the Trilobite hut. We had fresh rainbow for dinner over the fire. Look forward to the next video.

@@StuWNZ cheers mate. Yeah I bet that would be super fun on a motorcycle. We went up to the cobb reservoir a few years ago for some trout fishing. Awesome place for sure.

Leave the fkn fish alone. You have got enough money to buy farmed food, leave the fish alone.

Farmed and commercially caught fish involve more cruelty to the fish.

You save money catching your own and hunting. If people want fish they should catch their own, it will help fish numbers.

Yeah buy the ones caught by commercial fishing boats by the tonne while they chuck all the dead bycatch back
