Hey Michael, thanks for uploading this and the other clips. I had this recorded from an original tape back in 98/99 but the copy was awful as you may well know that it was protected with macrovision. I'm actually in the crowd (front - white cap with black camera strap). We were fortunate to hang out with Craze and Cutmaster Swift, if only for a few minutes to chat and take photos. A great year, for sure! Take care
best dj in the Perverts by far- funky/clean style but with impeccable timing and all round nice guy too....the only one to have these attributes in the crew
probably not as flashy and technical as his peers but damn so smooth in a jazzy jeff, dj noize kinda way and so on point....this to me is far more important as a dj
Michael Shum ☺️Oh yes my man I’m glad you finally have it Because I remember seeing this like 3 or 4 years ago but the youtuber that had this footage deleted it.
Never heard of Dj Mr. Thing until today, he’s similar to one of my fav dj’s, Dj Noize, like Noize, Mr Thing has a lot of style and creativity especially with the (wordplay). I would love to see Mr Thing, and Dj Noize do a collaboration set, with their similar styles, that would be insane!🔥💪🏽 Yo This was one of the best crowds ever, they were roaring in that building!👏🏽
Can’t fault Marc for entertaining. I think him and Paul are similar as ex-perverts, party rockers with the old school theatrics. They carry that old school pantomime aesthetic which what made dmc so enjoyable to begin with and is another thing non existence in today’s technically bland era. If you can find first rate’s move the crowd routine this is similar.
Stanton 500 needles?.. Don't think I've used since I upgraded from Soundlabs many moons ago. I might give them another try...I remember them being better than the Shure M-447's I've used for years.
Kind of an odd gimmick to throw the bag of potato chips out into the crowd. For starters, potato chips are referred to as “crisps” in the UK. Second of all, the “Chips Ahoy” being referenced in the song actually refers to a brand of chocolate chip cookies. And in the UK, cookies are referred to as “biscuits.” Gymnastics of the English language lol.

True true, he's got that flow in him!
@fooloof DJ Spinbad, Cash Money & Jazzy Jeff were two-three years ahead of everyone else back in '86.
One of my FAVOURITES from the 98 uk final.
Mr. Thing is dope very deeply rooted in hip hop and I'm a fan of his and his former crew the scratch perverts.
Great clean juggles, stage presence and fun set.
Thanks for this. Still have it on VHS but couldn't be bothered to convert. Always stuck out for me this set
Mr..Mr..Mr.Thing! He was nice! His al naafayish juggle was sick af!
Opening scratch flow is class
Thing. Vegas and prime cuts were my favourite scratch perverts but were highly pushed in the dmc around 1998-2000

i used the stanton 500s for about 10 years
For scratching / turntablism the Shure's are far better than the stanton's, I've had both and still use Shure
