Those witcher sets nearly ruined the loot system because if you have the green quality item you won't find anything better for a very long time and every loot you get from a monster you worked hard to kill will be useless. Worst example is when Crach gives you the "Winter's blade" wich is supposed to be a pretty badass sword, forged in Mahakam, tempered in dragon fire and it still has worse damage than a random witcher sword crafted by a fucking dumpling seller in Novigrad. That's ridiculous.
A similar thing happened to me in Witcher 1. Like one quest later after finally being able to afford and looking up how to craft it I had the meteorite ore sword - and the Lady of the Lake gives me literally the best sword in the game which is much better than any other sword you can get there. Thanks 😂
Exepct in Blood and Wine (at least my experience). I'm not really far into the Main Story Quest yet because I was busy finding all of the Grandmaster Witcher Armor. Expected them to be Like the Most OP weapons of the Game but No, it seems that random Toussaint swords I picked up on the way are BETTER than the armor i spend almost three days to get them all. Also the Quest where you have to take all the all across the map spread bandit camps out to get a "great" reward from the dukal steward. Spoilers it was just 1500 gold. But still is this game and all it's DLCs freakin awesome.
What where your swords level 1? Lol monsters only get red skulls starting at 5 level's above you and even then you should be able to kill it pretty quick. Now if the howler was level 30 then that would make sense since the game adds 800% extra HP to all monsters 10 levels above you and that's 800% for every 10 levels. So trying to kill a single level 60 harpie at level 20 means is has almost 100,000 hitpoints. I knows this because when they are nocked over you have a 5% chance of instant kill. Like at that rate might as well not even have creatures that far ahead of you since the game makes it nearly impossible to fight them.
I made him dismantle it. No, I didn't take it to someone else, no. I made HATTORI crush that shit sowrd into scrap as punishment for making me work my ass off, haggling for a better price from the black market only to get NOTHING.
The entire games level system is completely broken like this game needed to be structured like Skyrim where you can only find items that are your level and same with monsters. I've noticed there's some limit to how much damage you can deal to monsters, for example if you are level 20 and encounter a level 25 drowner it will have a red skull but you'll still be able to kill it rather quickly if you're swords are above hopefully level 16 or higher that is. That being said if you find a level 35 drowner trying to kill it is absolutely ridiculous! We are talking a monster having 3,500 health at level 25 to over 45,000 at level 35!!! The game automatically adds unrealistic amounts of health just because the game thinks you shouldn't even try to kill it since it's only 15 level's above you which is asinine. At level 35 the best silver swords is only going to deal a maximum of 2,200 damage and suddenly that level 35 drowner which is now your level only has 8,000 health like what the fuck??? I have to go out of my way for a chance at getting loot that's above my level if not all the stuff I should do I get rewarded with some shitty relic sword thats 7 levels beneath me. CD project Red do not fuck this up in cyberpunk.
I'm unsure what to think. I did the quest at level 19, and my blade of the bits was level 24. Is it randomly generated? Seems pointless to me. Surely the logical step would be to make the item useful to the "suggested level" of the quest. If they want you to do a quest at level 30 for example, make the reward a powerful level 30 item. This seems obvious to me.
Yeah, well the main point of that quest is getting a master weapon smith, who can later craft your mastercrafted witcher gear. Nothing else. That said, this quest in itself is quite interesting and entertaining. Not sure why they insist on giving you useless crap for free. The same goes for master armour smith - she gives you some whatever armour that looks like crap. Would have been better if you could just craft whatever item for free or without standard resources.
Looks like you did what I did and over leveled yourself. The game is built to mix side quests into the main quests, but I hammered out every single side quest I could do as soon as I could do them, got here, same thing. If you hit this quest a little earlier, you end up getting that sword when it's still level appropriate. Weird that they just couldn't put into the code "Base weapons stats on range = player level on quest completion."
MrKipsiukas I didn't say it made sense. That's the logic of the game devs. You'll have to ask them why a weapon made by someone you don't have access to without some of the hardest quests in the game is such a disappointment.
I just did this suggested lvl 25 quest at level 6 and got a shit sword that was so much worse than what I already had (a level 4 required sword). Man was I dissapointed after all those hours of dodging.
I guess if we want to make the gameplay a little more rewarding, we should just don't craft the witcher gears... Man I love Witcher 3, but seriously, a small world with less but carefully tuned loot is much better than a massive world littered with crap. The former one requires serious design, the latter, just write a piece of code will do the job.
I... am confused. So if you're over-levelled you get shit weapons, but if you're not overlevelled all the loot you find will be shit because you'll be getting relic weapons at your current level or so but they'll become obsolete really quickly? How do you avoid being screwed?
There is no way....CDPR found a way to screw us no matter what we do...better focous on completing quests and exploration for the XPs rather than for the loot , at least that way you wont be dissappointed .
I kinda like how it works, because I liked the feeling I get when completing a witcher set. And since I have a few levels before the next one, at some point I might change my swords for a relic. Yes, the rewards are mostly worthless then, but the xp and the gold are all I really expect, and if a reward is bad I can sell it or dsmantle it, so I don't really mind
NightScope2142 It looks like it scales pretty well though, it's becoming pretty uncommon now for games to have a big difference between low and max. Crysis 3 looks amazing at low settings.
MrPoggleBeast You also have to realize when i recorded this i also did an edit/re-encoded then put it on youtube. So its been compressed a lot. If you really want to see the actual differences between low/med/high just check websites who did comparisons its honestly not that big as people make it seem.
Yeah really weird how those rewards worked for both mastercrafted quest chains. My "Sword of the Bits" was lvl 18, but then I completed the quest at lvl 20-21... so yeah, had something better. And then the mastercrafted armorsmith gives you lvl 27 "Witch Hunter Armor" for a lvl 24 quest. Not only did I not like how it looked, I wasn't even able to use it till after I went to find Ciri. Still, can't say I didn't absolutely LOVE my Mastercrafted Griffin Armor, and my Mastercrafted Griffin Swords. So awesome.
Urivial Beckett The oddest thing is, I thought I was going to get a "light and durable" armor. I literally thought I'd be getting a "light armor" out of this, and I had specced my character towards wearing light armor. So not only can I not wear the armor at level 22 character, I don't even want it anymore. Boo...
I got this weapon rather early in my Witchering career, but I went into a dungeon immediately after and found another weapon that did like 30+ more damage so I was like, "Welp, that's the end of Blade from the Bits. Short lived, but made a little coin for me."
I apparently over-leveled myself - a terrible side effect of being a sort-of completionist. I have since got to Skellige and seen the folly of my ways - there IS no way to be a completionist in this game......but not before I had leveled through the ceiling ad on past ANYTHING I might encounter in the story. -_-
+VakarianGirl How can you over level? Do you miss opportunities as you level higher or something or do you mean the items you get as you progress casually?
What the heck do you play this on. I play on PS4 & it runs petty dang good. This must be a stock PC, & the reason I quit PC gaming. Also when I get tired of these cool but odd PC WRPGs, I can just stick in Uncharted 4 too.
I liked how he took the sword and shoved it in his back pocket
AdellRedwinters Kratos puts a head up his ass so it's cool.

Winter’s Blade is such a troll
I fought Howler (Level 20) at level 15 for 30 minutes and got a level 11 sword.

Guys, the damage increases with level
@@obamarules98414 years ago when this comment was made, the sword didn't level up.
Level 20 quest, needs lv25 weapons and armors to beat the monsters and get the items we need. Reward: a crappy stat lv.15 weapon/armor(one piece).
+CrouchinCorner Does the weapon design department cracked lots weeds before coding the game?
Imagine being a medieval knight and noticing immediately that your new sword does two times less damage than your current one.
even more funny if you instant dismantel the thing in 1s by the same dude who take 24hours to make it :
How did you get your calculator to run this game ?
Best comment I've ever seen lol
For people who know weapons you can tell a lot about a a sword by how sharp it is, or how balanced, or the quality of the metal.
I didn't know the console version looked this good.
frogger5687 lol I thought he was playing on console also
frogger5687 console looks way better, i was shocked by the texture of hattori's clothing in this video
***** I'm not saying console looks better than pc, though I am saying console looks better than PC on low settings.
frogger5687 this is actually an example when it would've been better to buy it for ps4.
If it's just for the graphics yes, but if you want to install mods there's no way around PC.

That's just coping with the bad rewards, every single quest sword in the base game is just terrible
@@user-gh9hz9yf3e what I said but different.

I agree. Sadly most of the games higher level weapons can't compete with some of the lower level ones. WTF is that about?
I did this quest at like, level 11, it wasn't fun. And the sword was still shit compared to what I had.

did it at lvl 13, got it to lvl 10. it was worse than the griffin sword i had :/
