All I’m saying is in these sort of countries it’s extremely important to watch what you eat. I mean like undercooked meat, fish, or even under washed vegetables is all it takes. Not to mention everyone serving and eating with their hands.

Please avoid sliver foil on food in India specially for street food .....silver foil traditionally made from silver metal which have many health benefit properties ...but as silver metal is an expensive metal so people made silver foil from aluminium which is a pure poison ..
Only on renowned sweet shop you can consume it otherwise avoid it completely ..

Trevor, man you are awesome! Great that you visited Lucknow, it is one of the unexplored tourist destinations of the world. It has a great blend of history food culture to offer.
I love food preparations in traditional way ( without machines) if they hold reasonable hygiene standards as well. Also, as a well travelled man, I'm so surprised of similarities between India and Iran ( Iran is not populated as India, therefore the life standards are higher but both countries share many cultural aspects including food, music and warm hospitality!
Lot of parsis (original habitants of iran) live in India, when they escaped islamic invasion.
lucknow is an ancient city but it got its character from shia persians of iran in 1700's .
That is because India was once ruled by Mughals who had migrated from Uzbekistan which had adopted persian culture
Only North Indian cities have may be same little bit traditional but North East and North West south India complete different traditional have compared to North
