Hello wondering if that’s those meta made hole in some artificial fortress or those weird shells that if you hit them. They simply teleport you to hell literally whole lot tough enemies surrounded you! And no way to escape
Oh boy, this is perfect - I was looking for some more beginner friendly Qud videos, because I find that game absolutely fascinating, but I tend to require more knowledge before I actually enjoy playing this kind of game :) Thank you for your awesome videos
I reckon you probably know this blind but if you choose a preset character you can go backwards and change all the options, so if you want to you can look like a tortoise by choosing the dream tortoise preset but still choose all your own options :)
@@Jimverse_ The Choose Your Fighter mod and the several expansions for it have a plethora of different tiles, most of which don't look out of place. There are some pretty big gaps (only, I think, 2 have multiple arms) but they cover a lot of different mutation combos including several with multiple legs, several with wings, and several with shells or quills. It also gives you the option to switch mid-game so as your character evolves, getting new mutations, you can pick a new tile that matches them a bit better.
The ending was so intense, very glad it was so dramatic and full of action and not just "whoop you died in one hit while casually strolling out of the corner" xD
Live and drink! My very first classic run ended with me turned into a gem. Used a shade oil tonic as a true kin to phase through a wall to escape tongue tyrants and ended up face to face with a equimax cherub. Fitting end, hope my character is someones wedding ring now
Caves of Qud is one of those games I am truly fascinated with, but won't dare to even try because of it's difficulty. That's why I love videos like this. Live and drink.
Its honestly a lot like morrowind: first few hours' learning curve is *steep.* Then; once you get a hang of it, you start to realize all the potential ways to achieve and do things. Then, only a bit later, youll be actively smashing the game balance apart with ease - at least for 85% of the encounters. But always be vigilant; death comes quick and it takes only a few turns to go from "I got this" to "Hm; okay, Ill have to actually play well" to "Oh... uh oh" to "dead". 😁
thank you for the explanations. i saw some challenge runs people were doing and was interested but couldn't keep up with what was happening as no one seemed interested in making sure people who don't already play the game can understand what they're doing
These are always great, rewatching entire livestream vods is at times daunting, and at other times convenient, to have upwards of 10 hours of content to break the silence. Live and drink, friend.
i dont think its that the resheph cultist doesnt know things but more like he's rewarding you and teaching you for discovering those things on your own
After coming back from delving (too) deep into the Caves of Qud experience: - Once again thank you for providing the motivation to dive into this. It's a blast :) I've decided to go for regular Rogue mode for myself, since I know I will just game the systems if I have a savefile to reload, and try silly things like going through the depths of dungeons way too early and just try again if I fail. This way I'm properly scared to delve too deeply and too greedily, and instead attempt to be careful, and attempt to prepare for anything ahead. This has so far resulted in (predictably) me dying a bunch anyways, but each time I'm learning more and more things. My favorite death so far was when I Beguiled a legendary Crocodile that had some form of plant-growth ability, and summoned a bunch of exploding bulbs next to me. These predictably exploded on me. I have now learned, that I can disable my allies' use of abilities My 11th iteration of attempting to be a Beguiling and Proselytizing minion Apostle so far has survived for surprisingly long, and I have amassed 1 Legendary Scorpiock (Proselytized), 1 Legendary Bear (Beguiled) that comes with her own 2 (of previously 4) minion bears still surviving. One bear has extra arms, two others have extra Stingers by now. On top of that I recruited 2 Mechanimist Priests of [spoiler] locations through Reputation, one of which I can not yet Dominate to check as to what he is specced into. Both priests use dual pistols and run out of battery way too often. And then I also recruited Yrame from Joppa, and another Warden, who also charge into battle
Live and drink. I absolutely loved this video from the narration to the character development. You absolutely managed to tell a story here.My hats off to you. I hope that you plan to do more of these in the future.
I just purchased this game but wanted to watch a few videos to see what I was getting into before I started. Your video was extremely helpful with your explanations without being overwhelming. Live and Drink.
Thank you for doing a video on Qud! I was looking for an adventure game that had a Dwarf fortress feel to it. Could not be happier with CoQ, and am super excited for 1.0. Hope to see more CoQ from ya Live, and Drink Friend
Pure and simply an awesome vod, CoQ has confused my smooth brain for many months but not any longer. Thank you Greg you've started to open the fantastic world of Qud to me and ii can't wait to really pick the bones of this game. ❤
I'm so glad you finally did a video on CoQ! This was a grand adventure & I'm interested to see what you can get up to in the future in this title. It's funny because when I first discovered your channel, I was thinking to myself that I've yet to find someone on youtube who has done Caves of Qud in a long-term format & done it well, & I remember saying to myself that you would be perfect for the job & here we are! Thanks, I know how much time these videos must take & I appreciate you taking the time & effort you do in crafting every single one. You're a real dude, ya know that?!
I just really really hope it gets a windfall of recommendations when qud releases. If not I'll be a bit disappointed. I'm glad people like the video and feedback has been great.
Yeah I believe legendary mechanimists always, or at least almost always have an eater's nectar injector. Legendary templars do too I think, but they have an annoying tendency to use them when they spot a mutant approaching.
Super relatable, everything is going great as you're steaming through in Qud until all the sudden you realize you're too deep - annnnnnd it's too late lol

yeah more Qud would be great in this format. I have 200+ hours in it, I haven't played for the last 3 years and so many things have changed I feel like I'm completely new at the game.
I read about this game yesterday and I have to say it looks good. Roleplay mode saves it for me. Permadeath is appealing but I hate Roguelikes with a passion if it is not a feature but mandatory.
