thanks nass another masterpiece! as a antique \ muscle car restorer for 45 years. i love to see vids of the old cars when they were new! keep the vids coming my friend.
You do fantastic work but this is a step above. Looks better than my then “state of the art 8mm “ videos from the 90’s. What a restoration. Your videos are liketime machine experiences. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful to watch this. I wish there was a contemporary video following the same route to see what's changed and what is still the same. I have always yearned to visit this city and perhaps I still can, but I'm a little too old and broken down to do the kind of exploration that I would like to do.
I would call this video “The Havana Wall” El Malecón de La Habana” The construcción seen at the distance are La Cabania / La Cabaña ,the Spaniard fort in the 18 Century.Casa Blanca imitating the Marrocan city and the Morro, that used to show the lights to ships. Ahh, this beautiful sea and the clean and fresh air . This footage was a pleasant surprise for me of the old times of the biggest island of the beautiful Caribbean sea. Thanks!👏👏❤️❤️
Interesting to see the docks where ships onload coal such as a 2:48. I suspect the coal was used for generating electricity and fueling the steam locomotives pulling passenger and freight trains at this time.
Great work, amazing to see what it was like compared to today. What was with the drivers back then, the 3 cars driving side by side blocking traffic!! lol
Eighty years ago! Maybe a kid or two in the video is still alive. Sadly, they had to endure the Castros. I was there in 2018 and rode down the Malecon in a 1954 Dodge Royal convertible. Who knows what was under the hood. Also visited the fortified Castle of the Three Kings of Morro on the other side of the strait. Many old cars are still running. Havana is a photographer's dream with 60-70 year-old faded paint.
Yeah sad that they had to endure The Communists who...oh yeah they eliminated illiteracy, ended the rapacious extraction of resources, made Cuban society among the least racist countries, gave its people healthcare. If only we could go back to the days where guys like Muchado and Batista took orders from American gangsters
I get your point. But EVERY Caribbean "paradise" you can name...Antigua, Curacao, Aruba, St Maarten, Bermuda...3 blocks away from the beach/promenade deal are devastating slums.
"veryone looks well fed and dressed, no ramshackle hovels, nice cars." - maybe what you are watching is a deception. Maybe the original film was a highly selected view of Cuba, and now this channel just distorts those images even more.
@@alanpecherer5705 Presently those places you named are probably crapholes too, but Im talking about how Cuba looked 80 years ago. Point being, Cuba was nice before the communists took over, but you purposely overlook that glaring fact. You must be a bot because your comment shows a lack of reasoning.
The hubris of one man destroyed this, while trying to destroy the hubris of another man, who protected the hubris of other men, and in that chain we lost this Cuba. Cuba would have been the Rome of the Caribbean. My grandmother, whom I constantly search for in these clips, and would have been a teenager, used to love chatting about how Cuba was the first place in Latin America to get the color television, for what its worth. Cuba is still a treasure, if only for the people that live there, who have had to make sacrifices their entire lives through no fault of their own.
@@TheDanEdwards All of them. The only person involved in 20th cent. Cuban history who had the Cuban people at heart was Camilo Cienfuegos, and he was disappeared.
Gracias.
Back when it was a Republic. Great video. Before the tunnel was built. When Cubans didn’t immigrate actually and Americans moved to Cuba 😉. Our foreign policy and lack of world leadership caused and causes the destruction of our Latin American neighbors. This is why we can’t be isolationist. We are the leaders of the free world and should act that way. Castro should have been overthrown April of 1961 or even before, Eisenhower did nothing from 1959 to 1960 and everybody knows what happened at the Bay of Pigs in 1961 😞.

Some of these cars are still running the streets of Havana as we speak..
Near to the latest models in Cuba.
I wonder which ones aren't running today.
Lol
Great cars indeed

Wow the quality is amazing! If it weren’t for all the vintage clothes and machinery I would have thought this film was taken recently. Amazing work!
Thx!! ;))
Unfortunately, for this film to look recent you need to have huge "Socialism or Death' banners every 3 miles.
Finally my city in this channel. I've been wishing for this since I discovered nass. Thank you
Pretty amazing! I would love to see more of La Habana Remastered. Thanks for your work....

Cuando no había llegado la mano destructora de los Castro a la Isla.

Cuba has the most American cars predating 1950 still on the road.
Эти машины до сих пор катаются
Looks better then, before communism.
