Love how Artie is such a kind soul. Trying to get the baseball players comfortable by including them in on a joke and finding common ground with hating A-Rod. Then laughing extra hard at the baseball player's mostly not-funny joke so that he didn't hear the awkward silence from the crowd.

I agree, Barristan, I can't particularly see Artie putting down the working man. If Ethan thought this was a funny add-on, I think he might have gotten it wrong, although he's right in that good comedians do do great add-ons.

To be fair, A-Rod's about the only guy in baseball who still gets that kind of treatment. Football and basketball players get it all the time but not baseball players, not unless you're a power hitter and you're playing in a baseball town like new york, boston or st. louis. It's not like it used to be.

Mad TV, Dirty Work, Howard Stern??? You are missing out my friend!! lol. His Stern years are great and a lot of which is on RUclips. I recently read his books as well and even as a fan I was really surprised at how good they were. Too Fat to Fish was comedy gold, I laughed all the way through! If Artie could stay off the dope he would be considered a legend. Even with all his issues, he is definitely one of the greats!

richig761 Because he's not that funny, and he behaves like an asshole on every show he's on. His substance abuse seems to be something he's proud of. He' s a marginally talented comic who made a lot of money on Mad TV, Norm, and the Howard Stern Show, and has managed to burn most of it.

That's not true. He's pretty huge here. He's been a low as 190-200 and over 300. He's definitely close to 300 here. He DID lose a lot of weight in 2009, but then gained it back.
