- So I've tried for weeks and weeks to get my PS5 HD camera Chroma Key to work with my Elgato Green Screen. I've been messing around with lighting a lot after reading online.
Everyone kept saying it was a lighting issue, so I spent a big amount of money on lighting all for nothing.
I've got a faulty PS5 HD Camera, and you probably do too.

I legit think you’re the first to discover this. I just bought a new setup and also purchased the elgato green screen. I have Nanoleaf as well as led lighting but it still showed up choppy. Bought a blue screen to throw over and problem solved! Thanks for the help my man!

@@solidrobb5522 Well got that blue screen today.. Works perfectly.. My guess is that it is not cameras fault, its just made for blue sceen i guess..

I doubt the camera is made for a blue screen though. There are other streamers who use a green screen and it works perfectly fine for them. I think it's a fault in the production. Might be with a certain model number, either the earliest model or a newer one. But that's merely speculation on my part.

The blue screen worked way better than the green screen as you said! I recommend everyone to try it if you are having trouble with your green screen working.

You have no idea. I too bought an ElGato green screen for close to $300 and I cannot believe that a $5 blue sheet solved this problem. I guess PS5 cameras simply aren’t compatible with green screens, only blue. I’m surprised Sony PS hasn’t fixed or even acknowledge this issue. Thanks again!

Bro you found the secret to life ! Wow how has this not blown up. My only issue now is that when I go live is so low on Opacity.

@@solidrobb5522 yeah I have but the opacity changes within the picture and not the actual overall. So like it’ll show my face too clear or too dark but not the actual capture if that makes any sense.
@@solidrobb5522 I’m also having an issue where my eyes are green so the camera is capturing my eyes and blacking them out. I look like a ghost. Lol
@@unifiedmind oh, that's odd. That might be due to the lighting though.
@@solidrobb5522 yeah could be I’m not sure I just figured I’ll wait till they get a 4k. It seems to somehow work better with the lights off and some sort of background light

Razer came out with a blue colored screen (since all their product color is green). I went ahead and ordered one so i'll test it out with the camera.

@@solidrobb5522 I just got it today and it's still in the box. I put a pic of the box on my twitter (same username) and i was thinking of maybe doing an unboxing vid. There isn't a single one on youtube. Not even with Razer sending stuff out for review. (at least not that i could find)

@@DaRealTJJJ afraid I can't help you there. Bought it off a local store in my country (Sweden). But anything will do, anything with a solid blue color like that. A sheet would do too. Hope you find something.

I can confirm that this was the exact same behaviour on my PS4 Pro and the PS4 camera. I was hoping that it worked better on my PS5 and HD camera, but it doesn't. Also on the PS4, it had a much stronger preference to key away blueish colours than green. My hypothesis was, that in Japanese blue and green are often referred to by the same name, and that also bluescreens are quite common equipment in video production.
After all, it's just annoying and a PITA. I was really hoping sony had fixed it for the PS5.
Oh really? PS4 had the same issue? That's bad. You'd expect them to get it right the second time. How disappointing.

I've been using a blue screen on ps4 pro for my livestreams and it disappears better than neon green does only problem is some bright lights in certain games make my eyes or mouth disappear not sure if its the camera or blue screen itself any solution to a fix would be appreciated
Hmm sounds like it could be a lighting issue. If you don't have sufficient lighting and when your games goes from bright to dark areas it might cause problems if you don't have good enough lighting.

No, I'm afraid not. I did try with a weaker blue color before and that didn't work at all. I can't say for sure exactly what type of blue that works and what type that doesn't, sorry. But navy blue would do it! 👍

What's the purpose of the green screen that's a lot of money for what?
It's useless with the PS5 HD camera. Works well on PC though.
