Great idea! Would it be easier to undo the perimeter lines at either end, or as you showed us in your video? I find on my Kayak that they are quite close to the hull and the additions of plastic tubing as you have done would make grabbing the lines so much easier, maybe even adding a couple more father down as well, which may mean change the line to a slightly longer one to accommodate the extra bits of tube. what thread did you use as it looks to have plenty of strength to allow you to pull the line through the tube?
Thank you! You can choose how to do this, personal choice with the same outcome. The thread is for normal swewing, also whatever you can find. Makes it easier to pull the rope through. Cheers!
Hi Almerinda, Yes, indeed. But check the last part of the video, there you will see that we go through the handles with the short tow-line. That way the curved tubes are against the deck, not in your way but still ready to grab. Cheers!👌😊
I have just bought a p&h leo kayak and fancy doing the mod but the deck line is tight and there's not much extra length where the knot is. Did you replace the deck line or replace it Thanks Graeme
Hi Graeme, We pulled the line with the 2 of us so we had just enough lenght. Also, we paddled a few times before making this mod, by getting wet and usage, the rope gives a bit more. It's the same with all our boats, we never replace the line, but we have to pull hard. Best of luck, it will work! And ask for another pair of hands. Cheers!😊👌
Hi! We used a needle to stick it through the end of the rope. Works fine. Otherwise you can also use a thicker tube, where the rope goes in more smoothly.
@@Northseakayak Hi Dimitri, I like your choice of music; take "Schipgat" .... waves and music gets the andrenalin going. Only very few times would I have liked low volume music : on your north sea crossing when talking to the coast guard for instance. No, no complaints at all.
Dankjewel! Je hebt gelijk over het muziekvolume van The North Sea Crossing tijdens de radiocommunicatie, we gaan erop letten in de toekomst. Dankjewel voor je steun en feedback.😁👌👍
Great idea, has saved my hiney a few times in cold water with gloves on!
Same over here, we ourfitted all of our boats like this. Small effort. Enjoy! 😊👌
Another great idea from the Top crew, that is North sea Kayak.
What a nice compliment, you're doing us to much honor! :-) Cheers, Dimitri
Simple ideas are often the best ones.....nice feature.... Thank you for sharing 👍
You're welcome Sherman! Glad you like it! Cheers, Dimitri
Excellent idea!!! Thanks you for shearing it!!!

Great idea Dimitri And great video as usual. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you Elliot! We're glad you like it, we'll do our very best! Cheers, Dimitri
This is a great video thanks!
Glad you like it, cheers!
I just put your deckline grab handles on my boat. Wonderful addition with the short towline. Thank you all.
Glad to hear that this is usefull! Have fun out there Paul!
Love it I just bought new p&h virgo so going to do this on it 👍
Congratulations with your shiny new ship! Enjoy!!
@@Northseakayak I will indeed am new to it so lots to learn, hence watching all your videos lol its great
That is a good idea , way easier to grab especially with neoprene gloves in colder water .
Glad you like it Klaus! Yes, it's easy to grab with gloves. :-) Cheers, Dimitri
Thanks. Saw this before installing new deck lines. I will have to add this feature.
Glad to hear Tom! Have fun! Cheers, Dimitri
Absolutely awsome thank you very cool
Thanks, it's simple but handy!😉👌
Very good to, makes a lot of sense. Thank you
You're welcome Sigurdur! :-) Cheers, Dimitri
Clever! Tnx for the tip.
Thank you! Cheers, Dimitri
Nice. I would like to see a video of knots, which one to use on your kayak, where and how to tie them....
Hello Michael, I'm afraid we don't have the time to do this. It might help looking for specific videos on knots, which we also did. Cheers!
Hi Dimitri, easy to do and for being in the Waves like you do, very important.
so long...Steppe
Hi Stefan, Thank you for commenting and watching! Cheers, Dimitri
Also maybe a good idea to change the lines for reflective rope while you're at it :)
Good idea, but we already have SOLAS reflective tape on our kayaks and paddle. Cheers!😊💪
Good tip. Thanks.
Glad you like it! Cheers 👍👌

@@Northseakayak Thank your for your reply, I have my Mothers Sewing machine and more thread than I know what to do with. like sewing. Thank you.
Genius!
The curve would definitely mess up my paddling. Personally I would go for a mire modest lenght of plastic wrapping

How did you attach a thin line to pull the deck line through ?
Hi! We used a needle to stick it through the end of the rope. Works fine. Otherwise you can also use a thicker tube, where the rope goes in more smoothly.
Marlin spike for knots
Thanks for the tip! We didn't have that tool, that's why we used something else. Cheers!😊👌
hard to imagine worse music ... can't. silence is golden.
There is a mute button.... And you're the first to give negative comment to a video where we put so much effort in, congrats! Cheers, Dimitri

Thanks, a good suggestion.
Music is distracting and awful.
