The difference of opinions is a blessing for the ummah. Imagine if there was only 1 opinion, that would mean if any one made a small mistake than they would fall into sin. Moreover, the shariah would be so rigid. Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) mentioned that beware of following any opinion that is not found in one of the 4 madhab. People say why only 4 madhab. Yes there were 100s of Mujtahid and schools but 4 got so popular that the others died out and not preserved. Furthermore, each generation of scholars from within the same madhab have not only passed on the knowledge but have used the methodology to recheck/ review and sometimes differ with there teachers. All 4 madhab is based on not only Quran and Sunnah but the ijma of scholars and can be traced back to the sahabah and their understanding of Qur'an and Sunnah.

There are t Issues clear cut and there are issues that are matters of preference. Anyone contracting and rejecting clear Quranic rules has left Islam. However, don't tell me it is a sin to raise or not raise ones hands, to say or not say aloud ameen, where to place the hands, etc end of the day all the madhabs and ibn taymiyyah have a methodology and that all Is based on quran and Sunnah. There is only one correct opinion a qualified scholar who gets it correct is rewarded twice and even if they get it wrong, they are still rewarded once.
