We indeed in a great time where information in the past is brought to us without really big effort. He was indeed a great saint Allah knows best . So I tought all the saint was Sufi they somehow busy themselves with a particular Zikr or worship of Allah to keep the noor of Allah flourishing in they heart . For me a Sufi is the one who one who some ascetic work of soul and body come to transcend the ego self and understand thing hidden of human nature through that spiritual awareness it become clearly obvious to him that’s it Allah the ultimate goal.

Perhaps discuss the meaning of a Sufi, and the Sun may shine. It was a word, says Kashf al Mahjub, without a reality during the time of its author, who then added: in the past it was a reality without a name. To link the term to Ibn Arabi seems to ignore the great masters before him like Al Junaid, and his esteemed uncle.

Asalaam Alaykum- Interesting perspective, but it seems the description of 'Abdal' in this lecture seems synonymous with "Malamatyya"
For those for whom rigor of academic studies prove prohibitive, Alhamdulillah that Allah graced the broken among us with The Path of Love.
I don't recommend having a stroke to anyone, but I can attest with a full qalb that there is non-new age value in Rumi and a more forgiving pathway in addition/compliment to the conformity and discipline of more conventional scholars. How does Shaykh Winters feel on "Conference of the Birds"...?
Masnavi is only really suggested for students with no prior Islamic familiarity from past experience; Al Hujriri is a far better suggestion for those with prior understanding of cultural context.
These lectures are well loved, often, due to neurologic injury, I cannot concentrate full long periods on media, but sleep to his 'Paradigms of Leadership' series.
May Allah grant me the opportunity one day to discuss these topics with this Shaykh in person, inshallah.

With evidence , I've come to believe Shamsu was actually also Sun Tsu, the writer of the famous book "The Art of War"
Shams-su translates as "Sun Tsu" and also if you read the respective writing of of Shamsu and Sun Tsu, it's very similar written form. Also Jalalideen Rumi was bakri (descendant of Abu Bakr Al Siddiq) as I am, and he was also from Afghanistan like Sun Tsu was also from Asia. Also Shamsu lived at the same time as Sun Tsu.
Jalalideen Rumis real and mostly unknown name was Jalalideen AlBakri

U think so? Mawlana Rumi is one of my chained teacher by sanad.I never heard or understand any of his teachings as how u said it.
Can anyone love Allah and Muhammad SAW separately?
Does Muhammad SAW teaches us on loving him wo loving Allah? No.
Does Allah said love me and do not love Muhammad SAW. no.
Infact theres more poetries of Rumi that shows his devotion and love to Allah other than his other works which praises Muhammad SAW

With all due respect, isn't Wahdat al-Wujud mentioned in his Divan-e-Shams and/or Masnavi or his association with Whirling Dervishes? The perpetual existence of Abdaal while limiting the number to 40 is something I don't understand. What is an Arif? For the record, Al Nisa (69) lists Prophets, Siddiq, Shaheed and Salih, but no Arif, Qutb, or Abdaal.

Stay away from Sufism, because it's perdition ! Allah used Jibrail عليه السلام to transmit His message to the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و اله و سلم with the Quran. Sufis pretend that they'll meet their 'love' that is Allah through spiritual exercises & zikr etc. Did the Holy Prophetصلى الله عليه و اله و سلم practise or recommend such practice?

DID REAL GOD CREATED THE WHOLE OF CREATION SEEN AND UNSEEN TRU LOVE OR TRU ORDER?????
IN ISLAM KUN FAYA KUN, IS CREATION TRU AN ORDER BUT NOT LOVE
IN CHRISTIANITY CREATION IS TRU """""LET THERE BE LIGHT""""", THIS IS ORDER BUT NOT LOVE
ISLAM HAS NOT TAKEN LOVE AND GRACE OF GOD, HAS THE HIGHEST HUKUM, WHY WHAT HAPPENED???!
ONLY 99 ARE SPOKEN, FOOD FOR THE MIND, BUT WHERE IS THE FOOD FOR THE TRUE SPIRIT, OUR TRUESELF?????
IT NEEDS THE 100TH NAMES, WHY FULL REVEALATIONS OF THE 100TH NAMES, NOT REVEALED FULLY IN ISLAM, WHAT HAPPENED?
IN CHRISTIANITY THE SAME THING, THE FULL REVEALATIONS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT NOT THERE IN CHRISTIANITY
QURAN IS BROUGHT DOWN BY SOUND OF BELLS ONLY, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BALANCE 4 MORE SOUNDS, TO MAKE IT A TOTAL OF 5 SOUNDS

On hearing this guy's speech everything becomes clear, why Imam Ja'far Al Sadiq عليه الصلاة و السلام cursed the sufis calling enemies of Ehlul Bait عليهم الصلاة و السلام! Shariat, tariqat, marefat & haqiqat make no sense at all, neither abdaal or qutub ! I ask myself WHERE IS ISLAM IN ALL THIS??? They talk about Rumi but deliberately ignore Shams al Tabriz رحمة الله عليه ! Turkey is not Arabia and as a matter of fact, the Turkish people did nothing to bring back Arabic alphabet in their language !

You don't understand what the sheik is saying I suggest you go and study. History is complicated and labels have had different meanings. A sufi now isn't like a sufi then, They followed hadith they was the early so called Sunnis (even though this label is a modern one there was no Sunnis until recently) This triblesism disgusts me, the Muslim ummah is disappointing for their lack of understanding
