I've been looking into getting this kit so it's nice to see a newer video on it. Exia is one of my favorite Gundam's aesthetically and I like 1/144 scale but the HG is super plain looking. This has given my the courage to finally make the purchase. Great vid!

Love me the Exia. The Master Grade version was one of the very first gunpla I every built and yeah I dare not touch it, but it looks good on my shelf and that's all that matters.
Yup, I loved building the Exia but it requires a lot just to have it standing up nicely. I did the glue and tissue trick on a lot of the joints. It looks amazing but it's one of those kits that never gets posed (as you can tell by how dusty mine is).
The unfortunate part that wasn't on camera was the piece falling all the way down from my ill informed attempt at a tweezer rescue. But I think your idea might work! I had to save a vital part of the PG Mk-II's leg frame from under the deck with guitar string and a ruler once.
This was my first RG- currently working on my 4th, but the others have all been noticeably bigger than the Exia. Not much a fan of 00, but the Exia is a great design, and I really wish I'd started panel lining before this, but it still looks rather nice overall.
The Exia is definitely a shining light design wise, I'm not into the other mobile suits from 00 personally. I never watched much of the second season either. I think you can get away without panel lining this kit, compared to others.
A cool thing to note is that during some (if not all my memory is failing me rn) Lambda driver ignition scenes you see glowing green particles flowing out behind the Arbalest. This reminds me a lot of the green GN particles trailing behind the Celestial Being Mobile suits when in flight. It's so cool how many similarities there are between Gundam 00 and FMP. I hope they eventually finish the FMP story in animation especially considering that Wave and Orangecat announced that they'll be making a new kit for the Laevatein.
Oh I didn't even think of that! 00 is very similar to Full Metal Panic and Code Geass. I'd be interested to see what that kit is like since I'm not a big fan of Bandai's FMP models.
@@EggkFarm Yeah im not the biggest fan either. They're fairly good kits that pose really well but something about the look is so off to me. Also the gap between the waist and hips is just too wide.
It's the same with the fourth season for me. The mechs look too much like perfectly rendered CG versions of the model kits, something about it is off putting. This is why I still haven't watched it despite loving the originals with all my heart. Also Bandai's kits are Lego Star Wars levels of overpriced for the licensing.
@@EggkFarmTrue. The prices are too much idc how much licensing was haha. I feel the same about the look of the mechs in season 4 but it's honestly not bad at all in motion. Definitely worth a watch it's a really fun season!
33 minutes ago? Perfect. I picked this kit up at a dollar store that had it for 15 bucks, a real steal. Shame I didn't like the build so much, kept losing the gn drive strips

You could try the tape and stick method to get that knife piece out of there or any other sticky thing to get it out

Both mechs (00 mechs and FMP mechs) are both designed by Kanetaka Ebikawa, so similarities will be inevitable

Can't deny a good deal! I nearly lost one of the head strips to the carpet, it's so easy for them to slip out of your hands and drift away.
My first Gunpla build back in 2022 and I accidentally cut the pegs mistakenly for nubs for the power strip that connects the shoulder/bicep 😂
Oh jeez! That's not even the first time I've heard about someone doing that, there is a lot that can go wrong with the head and shoulders.

Its unfortunate that the melee-focused mech can't move its leg forward. The skirt design was really bad.
