Funny how American declines while celebrating meaningless achievements
I'm not sure why the council being all female is inherently a good thing. Women would be up in arms complaining of institutional sexism if the city council were all male. I'm more impressed when people are elected because of their competence, not because they belong to any particular gender.
Son, I'm guessing you don't have daughters of your own to understand the impact of what these women discussed in the video, or you didn't actually listen to the interview.

@@riceexperiment I watched the video and am not even convinced that having more women in politics is inherently good. You only have to look at Lauren Boebert or MTG to see that voting for someone simply because you want more women in political office can have disastrous consequences. Women can be just as vicious and destructive as men, despite their so-called maternal feeling.

If they were the most qualified and deserving of the positions, great for them. If this is ticking off more boxes, America is in bad shape.
If they perform their jobs competently and with the people's interest, they'll do well. Give them a chance; don't resist them for who they are. They were destined for leadership as God gave them the spirit of helping people; by nature, women are far more compassionate than men. Lastly, there's no circumstance of happenstance like this; it's all the providence of God, for those of us who believe in the providence of God. May God endow them with wisdom, knowledge, compassion and patience to execute their responsibilities working together for the people of their city.

My first full time job was in an office full of women and I'm just glad I survived 😅

Before that job years ago, I had a night job in the same building with an older lady as my supervisor. We would do some computer work in that vacant office room overnight. Where all the ladies did the billing.
I remember how she carefully moved the chairs EXACTLY back to where they were before.... and didn't leave anything moved, not a pen, or anything that would call attention to her the next day.
She always did this. I thought man, what is the deal. Then I worked in that office, and I understood 😆😆😆

This may or may not be something to celebrate, we shall see, I find it rather comical we people celebrate way to early, it's like the runner in a marathon raising their hands in victory when they haven't even crossed the finish line and they get passed up. Hopefully these women realize and take it seriously what position in history that they are in and do their jobs to the best of their ability and becomesuccessful, then one day young women and girls can look up to them and realize with hard work they can achieve great things also, but until they have proven themselves this shouldn't be celebrated prematurely. I may catch some grief over this and I'm ok with that, but with that said I do wish them well, because there is a lot riding on their shoulders.

I have lived under governing bodies that were all males.. And it was nothing but chaos, confusion, arguing, lack of productivity and mess..... Because EGOS got in the way of business... Women were elected to replace them and things got WAY BETTER.. Just saying... The work the ladies did speaks for itself here.. BUT ultimately I think gender balance is best..

Well, from Houston here, but I lived in Minnesota years ago, and worked at The United Way of Greater Minneapolis. The department I worked in consisted of all women. It was the best environment to work in and the mentoring was incredible. I still salute Minnesota for its progressive political environment. They're so far ahead of Texas, but it's getting better here. I really like ppl from Minnesota and wish you all a happy winter season❣

Therefore, it is STRANGE to NOT see their numbers reflected across society in their proportion of the overall population in government and the private sector at EVERY level … such as in Congress, every governmental agency, governing boards, especially boards of directors, etc.
