I adore ISO E Super! When I started dabbling in perfumery I found a blend of IES, galaxolide and hedione made for a kind of perfume skeleton and anything you added to it simply smelled great! I thought I had invented the wheel or something, intil I read an interview with (I think) Maisondieu where he complained about perfumers playing it safe bading fragrances on IES, galaxolide and hedione... My all time IES-based fragrance is Feminité du Bois by Serge Lutens (55%?). There's something about the way the ambery cedar note of IES and the violet of alpha inonones that wafts in and out of olfactory perceptance (gee, that wasn't pretentious at all) that is so tantalisingly ghostlike (bare with me. English isn't my first language!) It smells like an ancient wooden box containing sacred treasure.
Bois Impérial created by Quentin Bisch for Essential Parfums fits this list. Incredibly genius airy vetiver, patchouli, woody molecule scent that lasts and projects like no other. It straddles the line between synthetic and natural in the most perfect way. It’s elegant, any season, any occasion, and it’s dirt cheap. My signature
I didn't expect this review to cover these fragrances from the title, but I can honestly say this is a super underated selection of dream fragrances that are subtly attractive. I do have another 13 and it's honestly one of the best fragrances I've ever had. I would love to smell for your love, but my honourable mention which is not very widely available sadly is Prada amber it's labdanum, patchouli and resin de benjoin, funnily enough I put it on last night and again this morning it's beautiful and sadly I only have a sprays left
I don’t smell some of the molecules, but I always recognize “molecular” fragrances. I fell in love with I don’t know what, It’s like a playful ghost - at first it’s invisible, but some timeless it shows itself and it’s so beautiful 🤩
1) another 13 2) molecule 01 3) Musc Panache by Rebatchi 4) un Musc unbois 5) all that matters Anamore 6) monoscent G 7) stairway to heaven Only one is little too much juice box cheeky smile , I like it it's just too much
My absolute favorite fragrance category. I either own or have owned so many of these. You've given me so many great ideas with this video for what else is in this category! Now I cant wait to try Thomas Apres L'Amor 4.
So, I have saved this video. When I first came across your channel a little over 2 years ago, two of the first fragrances I got because of you was Molecule 01 and I Don't Know What. I have found I LOVE molecular fragrances! I have since gotten Another 13, and want more! I'm gonna have to work my way through this list. Thanks!
Great Video Sebastian! It may not be a molecular fragrance, but my favorite musky scent is Parisian Musc by Matiere Premiere - the sexiest of them all!
This is exactly my kind of video. I alreday own a lot of these scents but a few more are on my try out list now. Thank you for the inspiration. What I also really like is Le Musc & La Peau from Pierre Guillaume 😉
@@ThePerfumeGuy fabulous! I did look through here and I didn’t quite find what I was looking for but I’ll watch again! I’ve been loving this cloves massage bar from lush and when you rub it on your body after a shower it gives a great Clove base for my spice, gourmand and musk perfumes. I highly suggest it for an extra level of coziness
I really enjoy these types of notes. Here are a couple from my collection: Guess 1981 LA Women, Proenza Schouler Arizona, Davidoff Cool Water Woman, and Reveal Calvin Klein and more.
Have you tried the new Attraction Musk from Rmanon Monegal? Perfect one for this list. Same genre as these perfumes except with a light animalic touch 😉
I'm really not into molecular fragrances, the only one from this list that I love is BR540 Extrait is one of my favorite fragrances ever!!! I want to try Ingredients, but the price is just not right. Thanks for the list Sebastian!!!
Loved this! Need to find a molecular fragrance with vanilla, unfortunately vanilla vibes by juliette has a gun was too tropical. Any leads? Might just blindbuy maison crivelli 07/2012.
I enjoy the Juliette has a gun not a perfume on me. I got it in the recent Sephora sampler with a voucher for a travel size. I picked the nest Madagascar vanilla, but it was definitely a runner up. I'll have to see if I can sample the superdose version. The sampler also had the Phlur missing person. I thought it was okay, but it was a bit too floral for me. I need to give it another try with what you are saying about these molecular ones, maybe it will grow on me. I definitely want to get the commodity mega sampler and smell the paper ones. Or I may be able to go to a local-ish Sephora to smell their line.
Excellent List! I never thought of For Your Love as a molecular scent. I am infatuated with that scent. I keep wanting to buy molecule 4, but then uou sidetrack me with a Screaming Beast list, then I forget! 😂🤣 Hope you are having a Wonderful Day!
1st, YES NEED THIS VIDEO. Glasses look incredible on you, great buy! I am officially first Sagar I am 30 seconds ahead of you I checked the timestamp hehe
I've been on the "Alert Me" list for Not A Perfume Superdose for over a year - it seems to always be out of stock at the online store I buy from here in Dubai.
Apre lamoure by Thomas kosamola smells to me exactly like oud FG by Initio, they both have the notes of saffron and woody notes 🪵 the saffron is a very dominant ingredient and sweet in fragrances so I don’t really feel the musk or other notes in the perfume.
Another 13 is so nice, I really like it but I don't know that I get the same performance from it. I've seen some people complain online that they smell it everywhere but I don't even smell it on me! I would really love to have one that is "cashmeran"... Maybe Molecule 4?
LOVE Molecule 01! I also love Another 13. I actually really dig most molecular fragrances. I have tried Not A Perfume many times but I still can’t seem to actually smell it. I do love their Sunny Side Up, but I think that I really just love IES. Any time I see that note I know I have to get my nose on it.
@ oh I like cheeky smile too but I just have a few samples. I’m honestly not sure if I’d go for a whole bottle given that I have quite a few in that general vibe. Maybe if I run through a few…? It’s good though. I just think I like M01 and Another 13 better and those will forever be full bottles in my collection. But I do really like cheeky smile! I need to give it another few wears.
I freakin' LOVE Tygar. I was fortunate enough to get a couple of free samples of it and it's SO good. Simple, straight forward but sexy in a fresh and modern way. I wish the bottles weren't so darn expensive. I just can't justify the price no matter how much I love the scent. No fragrance is worth THAT much money. I'm not much into clones but I would love to find a really good clone of Tygar.
@@ThePerfumeGuyBrazil. Most of what you mention in your videos is not available here, I'm afraid. But I still watch them and love them! And I will watch this other video right away!
Thanks for sharing these with us. I used to be so scared to try these molecular fragrances because I was scared I would be disappointed, but I finally tried a couple and it changed my perspective. I tried Iso Gamma Super by Ellis Brooklyn , Escentric 05 by Escentric Molecules, and Carbon by Aaron Terence Hughes. I was shocked how this simple molecules can work such magic when combined with simple musks and other notes. I even got a sample of David's Perfume by the RUclipsr David Dobrick, which I was ashamed to even have lol ..but....it's musky and sexy as hell and I can't stop sniffing it!
Hi Sebastian! Hope you can try 2787 - Genetic Bliss! Beastly molecular fragrance composed of 5 rare molecular captives. Been eyeing on this for awhile and just waiting for your thoughts on it before I buy a bottle :D
You need to get your nose on Genetic Bliss by 27 87. Yes, some of these are nice, but a lot of them smell like synthetic civet note. But the Genetic Bliss is just SEXY! Musky, oudy, bomb!
I never know why they list ISO E Super as a note when it is in the vast majority of modern fragrances, often at over 20% of the formula (some go as high as 80%). And when I say modern, I mean anything from the last 40 years. Even Fahrenheit is 25% ISO E Super. It is used as the backbone of modern perfumery, along with hedione, galaxolide and, often, ambroxan, cashmeran, vanillin and gamma isomethy ionone (violet/orris molecule) and other musk molecules.o To me a molecular scent is one that uses just one or two (or maybe a very small number of) fragrance molecules. Most fragrances are largely synthetic, and synthetics themselves are molecules.
MMW IS SEXY !! I absolutely loved this one as soon as I tested it out. I have my own review on my channel. It's just top class for me. Masculine leaning though
Totally up my alley! ⭐Thanks a lot for this! I needed a good does of this type of scetent! Have you tried musk STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN BASIC by JUL ET MAD PARIS? It's a fantastic house. Check it out😉

Ohhh yeesss, I looove No. 4 Après L'Amour by Thomas Kosmala.
Oh yes so good and so strong.

I’m looking forward to trying the 01+Patchouli
Love my musks; but can’t get into Another 13… I love their Labdanum. Some newbies to try. I prefer the Bacarrat Extrait to the edp 😊
