This one immediately drew me in, because I'm absolutely not into "beast mode." I like what makes my day better because I'm aware of the scent in my personal space. I also think that even when it's "skin scent" with virtually no projection, it all the same, given say a full day at work in the office (especially if you have your own office where people come in to visit you), generates a certain, even subliminal, "atmosphere."
Since I was a kid I was exposed to spicy food from both sides of my family, in the 70's fragrances were strong, people smoke like crazy, also I spend a lot of time in the countryside, I can't conceive life without strong smells and I don't have a delicate nose, also I don't get offended by anything, much less a fragrance, I try not to over spray when I go to an enclosed space that I know I could bother someone with my fragrance, but I love my strong fragrances, skin scents are not for me, it feels like I'm paying for nothing. Thanks for the video Sebastian!!!
My skin scents that I really enjoy are Lancôme's Ô D'Azur, and Une Nomade's Murmure des Dieux and Fleur des Fleurs. I wear all 3 as bedtime scents, or to lounge around the house in.
Great list! I’d add Wood Sage & Sea Salt! Very interesting what you say about being anosmic to certain notes-I could not really smell Missing Person at first, but now I can and it’s a favorite. Same with Another 13, which I now own. I work in a school so these are all in frequent rotation.
My favorites from this kind of fragrance are Hermessence Cuir d’Ange and Poivre Samarcande, Hermes Rhubarbe Ecarlate, and yessss Lutens’ Clair de Musc.
I just discovered this korean brand called Hince and blind bought their signature perfume which is a fresh clean skin scent type and it was surprisingly good, i find it unique for what it is with the inclusion of palo santo in it.
I prefer beast mode fragrances but sometimes I wear skin scents when have headache or it's too hot outside. I like Fleur de Peau by Diptyque. Apollonia is beautiful.❤
From this list I have Clair de Musc, Muschio Bianco and Another 13! 🤍Other fragrances that have the same vibe to this list is dyptique L’eau Papier, Glossier You and Sonic Flower by Room 1015!
Love your list, I don't get skin scent thingy, if i want a skin scent, I shower and there I have it 😁and people love Glossier you as skin scent, it just.. 🤔🤷🏾♀️
Hi Sebastian, great Video! I need a hybrid of smelling like a skin scent with a protection like a beast...what would you recommend for this combination? Many greetz from Germany 😊
I love Apollonia so much I bought it for my wife. I wore the sample multiple times myself but decided that I wouldn't wear it as often as she would and so it was a win win to get it for her in so far as I can smell it several days a week when I would only wear it a few times a month since I have many other fragrances vying for my attention in my collection.
Drawn to skin scents so enjoyed this, thank you. I have to careful with beast mode scents as I can get a headache, although I do appreciate a beast mode scent and will stop people to ask what they are wearing. I need to find one which suits me. Enjoying your videos on my holidays. Guilty pleasure 😊
What do you think about Caligna as a skin scent? On me, it creates a lovely fig bubble. I'm so glad you did this video, as I find I'm frequently in environments where I have to be careful about how much projection my scents have.
I prefer skin scents, or moderate scents but usually undersprayed, as I have an acute sense of smell. Some scents I can only put on my forearms, as they are too much for me any closer to my nose 😂
I have a weird relationship with Appollonia, which i have a sample of. Tried it and hated it. Every time i see something about it, i forgot ive tried it, go to the sample box, put it on and hate it all over again.
Nurse here...maybe it's because I spend a lot of time in a hospital, but in my collection I really don't have a lot of beast-mode fragrances. I save those for date night or cold winter days. In terms of skin scents, I really enjoy musky fragrances, but some are a bit too carnal for work (I'm thinking of Francesca Bianchi Under My Skin and FM Musc Ravageur - the original iteration of course!) I do enjoy Narciso Rodriguez, Xerjoff Star Musk, Les Indomedables Musc des Sables as more personal, inoffensive scents. I also gravitate towards fluffy-powdery fragrances like Narciso Poudrée and Prada Infusion D'Amande. In the summer time it's all about soft fruity-floral colognes, in which I indulge with one spray on my neck before my shift starts.
I am a person who loves perfume but some just trigger nausea and migraines for me. I think i will be buying Commodity Paper(tried all 3 and the - is the strongest IMO) or JHAG Not a a Perfume to throw on after the shower, as I have heard it can amplify other fragrances. Also have my eye on Another 13. That price tag though 😢. Molecule 01 smells musty to me, sadly. Like moldy towels left in the washer a week wet.
Hi there - I get nausea and migraines from scents often, so I would really recommend Without A Trace from Finery. It's a soft, musky, slightly warm scent that's inoffensive and doesn't trigger headaches for me personally. Plus it's very affordable.
Great video. Really want to try bunch of things from D'Orsay! I'm surprised that you find I Don't Know What somewhat tame and skin scent like because it's super potent on me even with minimal spraying. Gets kinda animalic and complex as it reaches dry down, def something fun.
Hydra Figue from Miller Harris is kind of like a skin scent to me. With a little figgie in it. I have been enjoying the sample so far, but I am trying to cover all my skin scent bases before buying full size(s). Diptyque & Le Labo are next on my list to try their versions of skin scents.
I've recently tried a musky skin scent that was nuclear in terms of longevity. I could smell it even after my shower. It is Sandalwood Musk from The experimental Perfume Club EPC in London. Perfect to boost any compatible scent.
Skin scent? Light? Airy? What does that mean? lol Just kidding of course. Some interesting picks here. I recently tried the discovery kit from that Korean brand Elorea that you covered last year, and I think most of them would fit this category. Like you, I prefered the Fire perfume (reminded me a lot of ELDO's Hermann...). They were all pleasant, though. The Water one actually surprised me once I gave it a full wearing.
I got the Missing Person lotion because I was hoping it would amp up the perfume if I layered it. No dice though, the Missing Person fragrance in the lotion wasn’t even strong enough to outcompete the oxidized oil smell of the lotion base. That was the weakest fragrance performance I’ve ever seen on scented lotion. Had to return it.
Another 13 however is a huge no, biggest no for me. Cannot stand that one. If a regular perfume is like a nudge or a bump, another 13, to me, is 100 needles inside my nose.
I'm specifically looking for a creamy cosy milky skin perfume that smells a bit like condensed milk or new born baby. Not vanilla, not chai latte, not chocolate. Any recommendations?
Clair de Musc!! Out of my 300+ collection, it’s one of my favorites and holds a special place in my heart. Soapy, aldehydic, musky and clean. Very nostalgic for me. Beautiful for a casual day or for bedtime. Perfect for all year round.
I had a similar experience. While I could pick up some of the scent it was just too light, even for a skin scent. My wife, when cuddling, couldn't smell it either.
After years of poking around with different scents, I’ve learned that my favorite is animalistic, ambroxan, cetalox skin type scents. These tickle my brain in just the right place. 😋🙂↕️🤤these always end up being quite loud on me, like my clean skin…but in your face lol
😮 y'all sleeping on Jovan Musk oil and cologne concentrate!! So comforting, fresh and totally unisex, while still being sexy. Even though it says for women, its beyond men's or women's scent, its just a natural beautiful skin-scent you-but-better smell.
@@ThePerfumeGuy I went digging after seeing your comment and it had been reformulated in 2021/2022? There are still positive reviews though. Curiosity might make it worth a try?
Totally my vibe- love this style of fragrances. I wore missing person today, I have the lotion as well 😊 I have Not a Perfume as well and Apollonia. Paper is really nice too but I already have Glossier You which is quite similar. 🤍 Great choices 👌🏻

Oh yes exactly
I get this exact comment too
It can't always be beast mode 😂😂😂😂

La Peau Nue "Naked Skin" by Celine is a great one too! A powdery iris haze.

Nice to see Apollonia getting a ton of love lately. It has been my go to work fragrance since its release.
Not a Perfume is my absolute favorite skin scent, and I got to know about it because of you, so, THANK YOU! 💕💕
You are so welcome!
@@ThePerfumeGuy 🥰🥰🥰
I use Another 13 and my wife uses Not a Perfume. We also use these as a base layer to combine with another scent. Love it!

I’m testing Elorea and they are great skin scents too. Projection starts when you get a bit sweaty. Used it during working out. Omg love it.
During the weekend all for the beast mode. But work in a hospital so very subtle scents or no scent for work
another 13 is an absolute beast for me but my bottle is old from when it was an exclusive. deceivingly strong like BR540.
I prefer beast mode fragrances but sometimes I wear skin scents when have headache or it's too hot outside. I like Fleur de Peau by Diptyque. Apollonia is beautiful.❤
