    Another great video! So much easier than the old school version; it is strange to think there are competent excel users out there that have never and will never know the brain ache caused by such intricate formulae, or the absolute headache of debugging them!

    @excelisfun I just reviewed this video "FILTER Function to Create Sub Table from Master Table. Data Validation Too! Excel Magic Trick 1842". Thanks for it! I've been learning Filter function. My question is can you take what you have done with this video and create multiple tables below each other that filters the main table for you which allows to add or delete rows as needed for each new table and not spill into the next table? Been going crazy trying to figure out if this is possible. Thanks!

    Thank you very much Mike! As always, a nicely delivered lesson 😀 . I wonder if there is a way to extract every sub table dynamically using array formulas? I've seen this done using Power Query but I'm interested if the new array formulas can do the trick. Best Regards.

      To further expand my question: what I imagine is a Master Table but arranged by criteria and adding a subtotal for each sub table. It would be nice if after every subtotal there is a blank row. Thanks!

  • @dominickcassanelli4028
    @dominickcassanelli4028 9 месяцев назад +1

    I notice in many of your videos, you are working with standard ranges and not tables, just curious if that is your preference and if so why. I always go back and forth with should I make this data set a table or not and the ease use with formulas between both.

    • @excelisfun
      @excelisfun  9 месяцев назад +1

      In analysis I use Excel Tables almost 100% of the time. Dynamic is the only way to go. But with teaching videos, when you use ranges within an Excel Table that are not full columns or tables, the visual look of the table formula nomenclature is horrible and makings things more confusing. The trick to good teaching is story telling. And the trick to good story telling is to have no extraneous elements in the story. Every detail matters. If there is a detail that does not help deliver message, you must remove it. I love Excel Tables, but sometimes they mess up the story.
