I doubt that you remember me from many years ago when I worked at Red Cat Racing. You did great and very informative videos back then. I am now into helicopters and own many of the ones you have reviewed. I was just about to buy the C186 but after watching your review I decided it was not quite as good as their other ones. I am retired now and on a fixed income so I don't have as much fun money so thank you for the great review. You always do such a honest evaluation and you saved me a bit of cash. Most of RC Era products are worth every penny but every now and then they have some that are not so good. I also fly now and have bought some of the mini foam jets based on your reviews. When I saw your son fly that little j-20 3 chanel I just had to get one. I own many of those because they are so easy to fly. Thanks again and keep up the good work
Hi Mark, Thanks for the comment. Those were golden days man. bashing redcats, developing and testing new rc vehicles with factories. best memories and best times. redcat is still alive and going i believe. why did you leave?
I have exact same problem, a big disappointment. I agree the bell 206 is night and day difference. I hope RC Era makes a fix for the C186 that we could apply.
hi i have a c186 rc heli and that will be the problem if you don't trim your heli properly and it takes time to do it. 1. hold down on the throttle trim. when your tx starts to blink make sure that your heli is on a flat surface. 2. do the calibration procedure (down and left) 3. fly and trim your heli. when you think its stable enough. 4. press down again your throttle trim and land 5. turn off your heli first then your tx. then your settings will be saved so you don't need to calibrate it again. in addition you can minimize you bowl effect by changing your head speed. low head speed less bowl effect and low battery consumption, but less wind resistance. to do this 1. hold throttle trim down when tx blinks 2. yaw trim right increases head speed. yaw trim left decreases head speed 3. if your satisfied press down throttle trim and land. 4. turn off your heli then tx
Thanks for comment. I know all this and how to do this. despite of doing this all, this helicopter still flies like sh** trust me. nothing helps. it has serious flaw in main rotor head. C187 also did the same movement at times. my older C186 flew very well. i have reviewed it before on my channel. C186 max is a no no
@@alishanmao i guess with that model tho. mine is c186 that doesn't have optical flow and i forgot to mention i did add some weight on the tail. i did it by adding hot glue on it and somehow it is stable.
That's pretty strange, I've never seen a Bo-105 behaving like that, no matter what brand it was labeled. Didn't you test the Eachine E120 two years ago? It's basically the same model and it flew beautiful, controllable and way more stable. No idea what happened here... 🤷🏼♂️
Can you show or do a video on how you setup your Helis with a TX16S please? I have one but it would be great to see how it works as I'd rather fly everywhere with it. Love your videos by the way! Thanks 😊
i have those videos already on my channel. those are for members only. if you join channel membership, you can see all those video tutorials and watch them
I bought the blue bell ranger and its terrible outside and trying to adjusting the trim is useless at best. I have the red version coming soon so we'll see if its any better.
Thanks for this honest test review! This thing just flies horrible, close to uncontrolable for a less skilled pilot. And it really is sad that they put these toy grade mechanics and electronics in a BO105 fuselage. The BO105 is one of my alltime favorites in the fullsize world because this machine so capable and precise. Unfortunately this RC Era C186 only looks like a (poorly painted) BO105. So sad after having improved some of the other latest models as we could see in your videos! Thanks for the warning and best greetings!
Yeah, this makes me sad. My grandfather was an engineer who worked on the BO-105 when it was being developed in the 1960's. I really was hoping this was a decent enough model. I may end up purchasing it to display on a shelf regardless, just for the sentimentality, there isn't a lot of BO-105 merchandise out there.
@@leeball4 Wow, great that your grandfather was involved in the development of the BO 105. Unbelievable what Charly Zimmermann was doing with this wonderful machine in his acrobatic programs! I bought a Bell 206 from RC Era because it looks sweet and it stands in my showcase.... but also flies bad. There are some companies offering very nice BO 105 Micro Scale Fuselages for the OMP M1, if you want something that flies better. Best greetings!!
Hi Ali, That's interesting to see yours flies dreadfully. I have the Echine E120 version and have had it now for two years and it flies really well and with its own radio. Maybe yours hasn't been setup properly from the factory. This can happen but shouldn't. I guess it's just one of those unfortunate things that happens. Anyhow, keep up the good work. I enjoy your reviews very much.
Thanks for sharing, my older model actually flew very well. that i have reviewed a while ago on my channel while i was in China. this one seems to be really bad quality.
@@alishanmao That's interesting to know Ali. Seems to be a quality issue, which doesn't do the company any favours. At least with reviews like yours, it can put the company on notice to ensure quality products are released to the market. Look forward to your next review. Best regards.

Hi!Ali..Hi!RC ERA...i've been flying RC Helicopters for about 20 years now (from class 100 to 700) and this is my opinion...these models from RC ERA are VERY NICE LOOKING..BUT...THEY NEED: 1/a much better flight card (with 3D/6G modes available)....2/Brushless motors (at least, the main one)....3/Normal batteries, you can buy anywhere,NOT PROPRIETARY....4/ALL these models DEFINITELY need to be "BIND-ABLE" on Spektrum & Futaba radios....in fact,if you look at my request,i'm simly asking what XK made long time ago with K123 & K124..!!..let's hope RC ERA will understand that..the day they will,i will be more than happy to buy all their models, and by the way i'm sure they will get much more customers (the customers they already have + all the 'real' RC Pilots who love scales!!)
agreed with all you said buddy :) XK was smart and they sold truck loads of their products just because their helis, their drones, their airplanes, were all able to bind to Futaba easily. and no proprietery batteries.
I was gifted this for that squirrely flying. Just not a very well made heli? If anyone out there has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Great video by the way!
Hmmmm...something must be wrong with that helicopter. I have the same one and it flies really stable and easy and I've travelled all over the world with it and flown it in offices, at home, hotel rooms and it's been stable. Kinda strange that yours is so unstable.
if you fly it slow, like hover it, move it slowly around, and i mean very slowly, it flies well, but as soon as you make a bit speedy flight and make left and right turns, it will show this tendency, give it a try and see it yourself. yours will do the same. fly it at speed level 3 and make fast turns and see how it goes out of control.
You called this one perfectly and were correct. it being a terrible helicopter. Mine will not even fly or hover... Thank you but it was a day late and dollar short" for me. Great review and terrible helicopter just as you wrote and demonstrated.
