Makes perfect sense. The end of RotJ seemed to suggest that everything was dandy and it was a new golden age immediately after the Death Star blew, but the events covered here are the most plausible outcome following RotJ. Just because you cut off the head of the snake doesn't mean the rest of the snakes magically change sides and join you on the grass singing kumbaya. When I found out about the Battle of Jakku I wasn't surprised in the least, in fact it made complete sense. Good video, this was good lore.
So called legends gives a detailed book by book treatise on how long it took the New Republic to be officially established. The nonsense spouted in the sequels pales in comparison. It was a long slog and the New Republic did not disarm and used many of the Star Destroyers of the old Empire as the Empire used many of the vehicles and clones from the Clone War.

Something I have wondered is when Palpatine tells Anakin this whole story about how the Jedi were plotting to take over after Mace Windu died, did Anakin sincerely believe what Palpatine was saying or did he just want to learn how to save Padme's life so bad that he just pretended like he agreed because that's what Palpatine wanted to hear? That's the impression I got, but he also sort of repeated it to Obi-Wan when Palpatine was nowhere around when they were fighting.

I think they’re many fans out there like myself that don’t read comics and don’t understand why Luke is so defeated and then so confident in the beginning of return of the Jedi; all with no master to complete his training
That being said, I still think the Michael A. Stackpole Rogue Squadron novels had the best lead up and payoff to the liberation of Coruscant. Hearing the name "Wraith Squadron" reminded me of the spinoff novels by the same name. So-called canon nowadays is either a hollow approximation or just plain inferior to so much of that material.

Interesting insight into his process for creating the pilots' personalities. Apparently he interviewed, among others, veterans of the battle of Britain and other WW2 pilots.
Thrawn is a better choice than Tarkin. I mean you could just feel the superiority and confidence emulating from him. And also because he has good strategies
They shoulda listened to *G.L.'s* original script. Then advanced the story further. Make Palpatine come back. Defeat him somehow. Then for X, XI, XII - deal with the true origin of the Dark Side in the Unknown Regions. Some kinda evil presence that needs to be defeated for the Jedi to truly come back and reign supreme in the Galaxy.

I always thought the coruscant civil war was missed opportunity story wise, it would have been interesting thing to explore dynamics of the conflict. Such what effects the conflict would have on the city and its population, or what would lead a person to join a militia to fight for the empire, or how would the criminal element react to the station. It was covered to much in abstract and not much in detail. Star Wars Disney has missed a lot of opportunities.
I'd certainly love to hear more stories that follow in the aftermath of Palpatine's death and the effects it had on various planets, it's something rarely talked about in real life and in Star Wars. What happens after the dictator falls?

The sheer logistical nightmare that would be going door to door on Coruscant of all places proves the empire's failure. Even if you have millions of troopers, Coruscant is still an ecumenopolis with probably trillions of people. Even if you had an army the size of modern earth's entire population (roughly 8 billion), the population of Coruscant would out number them hundreds of times over.
I support your argument.... however the Empire would have the luxury to concentrate their troops and firepower where they would be able to wipe out billions with ease. This is what any military does today.

Personally I find it irritating how overpowered the rebels were in everything. Even their greatest defeat in Hoth was really nothing. The leadership got away and the empire only succeeded in a minor way. I get that it’s about a story and not a military trilogy however the idea that a bunch of undertrained terrorists were able to bring down an empire that had so much power and personnel is laughable especially the fiasco on Endor.

This is one of the big reasons I prefer traditional Canon over Didney Wars; the idea that it was just clean-up after the death of Palpatine and Vader is monumentally stupid.
