Ibn Qayyim al-Jawzīyah (رحمه الله) said: "The love of the Qurʾān and the love of music do not coexist in the heart of a servant; the one who persists in it never remains free from associating partners with the Most Merciful, and if he becomes attached to listening to his listening of music, he becomes a servant to everyone, this one and that one."

BaarakAllaahu feekum, that was beneficial. May Allaah bless Shaykh 'Umar Quinn. Music is indeed bad :
1) The One who decides what is bad and what is good has prohibited it.
2) It enslaves you to sounds, meaningless sounds (even when it comes to simple music), that will manipulate your emotions, so if you hear a music evoking violence you become violent, if you hear a sad music you become sad. Your emotions are simply blindfollowing what the musician or the singer want you to feel. And in that way it acts like alcohol which intoxicates.
3) It turns people away from the remembrance of Allaah, as their hearts will be corrupted and intoxicated by music, and their hearts will prefer and incline towards music and they will turn away from Allaah, while Allaah has revealed the Qur'aan that can be recited in a nice tone, with doesn't intoxicate the heart with meaningless sounds but rather it fills the heart with the Words of Allaah.
4) It becomes an addiction, like alcohol or drugs...

Even with vocals and other mouth sounds, if they are done in a manner which resembles the way musical instruments sound (which applies to beatboxing and accapella harmonisation incorporated in many nasheeds today), then it would take the same ruling of prohibition based on the statements of Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen. This is because the point is what reaches the ears, not where the sound comes from. What is intended in the prohibition of musical instruments is not the instruments themselves, rather the prohibition is based on the sound they make, which also applies to anything which resembles that. Ibn Al Qayyim said anything which resembles something else in its effect will take the same ruling, based on how qiyaas works in the principles of fiqh.

Might not cause that, but it will cause an effect on your emotions and ur mind, and its idle sounds anyway, no purpose/benefit.
