I had family in Albany & all around that area when it happened. I am from a small town near Albany.
Thank you so very much for sharing this story.
Brought back a lot of memories. And it was horrendous when Michael came through.

Good overview of very complicated topics. Regarding the Israel-USA relationship, one additional aspect it would have been good to mention is the very aggressive espionage acts Israel has taken on the United States. This is often overlooked and ignored but should not be forgotten.

Thank you, Dr Mohler. I have enjoyed your commentaries on the current events and challenges facing us as Christians, as American citizens, and as human beings. But, I don't think that I've ever expressed my support and honest gratitude for your voice of sane, sage analysis and insight.

Although it was not Coastal Georgia, one only has to go back 30 years to early July 1994 when Tropical Storm Alberto parked on top of Southwest Georgia and caused major flooding. The Flint River crested at 23 feet above sea level and devastated Albany, Georgia in particular, especially East Albany (Putney, Radium Springs, etc.). Slappey Blvd., Albany's main drag was underwater and passable only by boat. Point is, these storms do happen periodically, and to me hyberbolic language like "1000-year storm" only lessen credibility not enhance it.

In view of Bible prophecy is Israel ever under a genuine existential risk?

    • @D26996

@stephenburkholder9411 true only if you believe they are still God's chosen people with unfulfilled prophecies especially prophecy promises (i.e. generally the Dispensational/Premillennial position). If you're Covenantal/Postmillennial then there are no unfulfilled lan promises and Israel is no different than any other country and, while they have the right to exist and defend themselves, they can be defeated and lose their country.

@@bridgeruralservices2647 Presuppositions are important and powerful. Nothing to do with it only if God did not fulfil His promise to the Jews, i.e. which dispensationalist endorse. If God did fulfill His promise, as Paul describes in multiple places in Acts and Romans to include Romans 11 and else where, then there is no nebulous future promise to fulfill (Covenantal position as well is 1800 years of church history reaffirms) as it was fulfilled in Christ as Paul describes. Romans 11:11 is important and key in particular. Romans 11 describes God fulfilling His promise to Israel.

Modern Israel exists by the order and means of the US and GB. As that support wanes and becomes unsustainably expensive, I see no biblical reason for the region not to regress to Muslim control, if not Christian.
