    Received this last week and used this past weekend to monitor temp in smoker while smoking ribs. I had no problems seeing temp no matter where I was in the house, easy to set hi and low temps

    I have been using this unit for 4 months. I like the unit and the four probes. I use it in my oven, smoker and gas grill. It works really well. The app however doesn’t work well on Apple iOS. It is buggy, crashy and constantly loosing connection. The problem there is if you are trying to use the graphs or alarms you can never trust the app. I have some other Inkbird products and I really like their hardware. It’s too bad the app doesn’t match their hardware quality.

    When I got the Notification of this Video, I thought you had rereleased one of your other probe videos. Then you started it of explaining it. I need one that isn’t going to crap out at high temps, I hear a lot of good thing about those though. Nice explanation.

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  6 лет назад

      I dont know how it does at high temps, but I really like how easy it is to use. I really hadnt had luck finding a thermometer I liked, and this one has exceeded my expectations

  • @CentralTexasGrilling
    @CentralTexasGrilling 6 лет назад +1

    That looks pretty cool. I wonder how the durability rates. Mine tend to "take a beating" when I use them for my competitions.

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  6 лет назад

      Aim'em and Claim'em Smokers I'm not sure about that. I don't do bbq to the same degree as you

  • @bhilgenkamp
    @bhilgenkamp 6 лет назад +1

    Have you tested the Bluetooth range indoors while the unit was outdoors? I had a couple of iGrill minis but couldn't go anywhere in my house without the phone losing connection to it. I ended up just using an old cell phone for the iGrill app, and then got a Thermoworks Smoke that works anywhere in my house. I know you said range was 150' but I'm guessing that's perfect case / line of sight kind of a thing.

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  6 лет назад

      I really just used it like I normally would. I'l test that tonight and get back to you. I know that when I used it I didn't have a problem, but I probably only got about 50 feet away, probably to my garage and basement. I have read reviews that said they got farther than the 150 feet. Tonight I'm going to turn it on and take a walk

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  6 лет назад

      the range on that is longer than 150 feet. I got about 6 houses down in my car. It's so impressive that I wish I thought to do it in this video

    • @bhilgenkamp
      @bhilgenkamp 6 лет назад +1

      No Hippie BBQ & Cooking Impressive! There is no way my iGrills can do this. Thanks!

    • @NoHippieBBQCooking
      @NoHippieBBQCooking  6 лет назад

      Would it be worth me doing a video on that?

    • @bhilgenkamp
      @bhilgenkamp 6 лет назад

      No Hippie BBQ & Cooking I think it would be. I'd mostly be curious about coverage indoors. My biggest issue seemed to be how many walls were between me and the transmitter. If you're getting signal in your basement it sounds like that's quite a unit. If you do one it might be worth testing with different phones too if you have that option since I imagine that might play a part as well.

    I love hou ou bounce your hands with the object I am supposed to see and how you neer hold an object steady so we can't see what's in your hand. Secondly, I love the echo and reverb with the "Big Kitchen Boom" setting. Avoid using one of those $50 condencer mics with boom stand for crisp, clear, full range sound. In scene two, I love how fast yo trained your finger to bounce from one place to another like waving or pushing air away from the phone/base. What about the units ability to calculate "is it done yet?"/ time to done. WHen you put it away, is it a tangle of wires or is there a design for that? Thank you for your time and effort.
