Navy Boot Camp: What is EXPECTED from your RDC!!
Four recruits are huddled around a garbage can and vomiting. A few others are splayed out, breathing heavy in puddles of sweat on the gym floor. Most of the recruits are walking around, getting their breath back after the run. Some of them are talking and joking around with each other; they're just waiting for "Chief" to come back downstairs.
The RDC is the Navy's version of the Drill Instructor. He or she has learned to be a hardass. That's what these mostly young folks need and get for the first time in their life when they enlist. I was so shocked when I joined back in 1985. I thought that things would be laid back but I found out that was not the case. Many did not make it thru Navy bootcamp back then.
But wow, the joy of graduating and headed off to schools and then the fleet is something that I still feel. I owe a debt of gratitude to my RDC.
Bootcamps at San Diego and Orlando have closed and it's all consolidated at the Great Lakes center. It's a cold but serious place. It's really a great place to go to school and learn. There are fewer distractions there compared to CA or FL.
Hoorah Navy and a thank you to the young folks joining and taking the plunge. Semper Fortis ... stay strong ...
The Navy changed my son from a boy into a young Man. Total transformation in less than 2 years. He said Dad I rather die for a cause for my faith, family and country than drugs and gangs. All his friends are still stuck doing the same thing living at home with Mommy and Daddy while he and his two highschool friends are in the Navy making a life soooo proud to be a Navy Dad.I cried like a baby when he graduated from great lakes definitely worth the trip to support him.
The new Navy wow should have never closed down RTC San Diego or RTC Orlando ,,,those bases were close to the Fleet and the Ocean.
RTC San Diego Feb. 19- May 14 1964. Company 158. Company Commander MMC James A. Hanley Jr.
I went through bootcamp not too long ago from may til early August. Life sucked for about maybe 6 weeks but after hitting battle stations life was way easier. And now it's even better because of shitbaggery
Sad that thousands of us were robbed of this then stuck even longer in limbo waiting on a backed up navy to get us to a school
So sad... all because of this “COVID” thing.
i graduated in january and missing out on this was one of the hardest things
My daughter graduate in 2 weeks and I'd give anything to be there
I’m glad that the ceremonial guard taught me everything when it comes to prepping a uniform the proper way. Every string clipped, creases sharp like razors, lint and stains removed. It’s awesome seeing stuff like this
Wish I had a graduation thanks covid
facts bro lol
I feel for you. Hang in there, and thank you for your service.
felt that
Don't be crying now. I was in the first division to not have a graduation. Grandfather went straight to war. So it could always be worse.
@Mr. Rivas were you in Division 127??
The RDC at 2:03 helping the other, was in my sister Division 115. I remember he was scary, he would just snap on recruits. I'm out of the Navy now, and I don't remember his name. but I hope that RDC is doing well
That Petty Officer Henry in here looking young lmao
This make me wanna be an RDC one day😂💯
4 hours of sleep everyday? lol
@@Remyueruhell ya

Whats up with marching to left right cadence? We used 1 2 3 4 because unlike the Marines we could count.
I went to BootCamp June 9 2020 through August, division 261
April 20 2020 Divison 159
Winter of 96, Division 033
I graduated great lakes Dec 1975 it was an experience.
I was there about the same time.
RTC Orlando, Company 244. 1978
Swear that's petty officer Martinez @4:33? Had him in div 098 and he hated my ass for marching lmao
Navu sets the standards for the World. God bless America.
I thought they didn’t allow ppl to come to graduation
cheif pearson😅😅 I see you. division 293 4:19
damn i was in one of the last divisions to even get a proper graduation before covid
I spent my boot camp at RTC San Diego. It was the worst time of my life because if one man screws up, everybody gets punish and there was always one screw up. I didn't understand the logic behind that, but the Navy wanted to teach us that if one man screws up and the ship sinks, we will all go down with it. I also notice that officers had better accommodation so I became one within a year. PS. I graduated boot camp at the top of my class.
I love it when men dressed like men and women dressed like women. Don't like the new uniforms. Navy 1964-1968
Any RDC's in this chst? Wondering how bad do yall get IT'd if at all while in RDC training.
Do you have to shave your head when you go to RDC school?
Wait so family can come to graduation now?
nope, still virtual
That was recorded pre covid.
I wish I got that
I got a lame ass live stream
How did you expect to anything
