    Nile was invited to Beloeil, QC this past week to drive a number of new vehicles, including this 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Preferred AWD. This vehicle also has the Trend Package which adds some creature comforts, and comes pretty well equipped for the price. This three-row crossover has gained a lot of attention with it's bold, angular design, larger format, and Land Rover-inspired quirks. We recently featured the XRT trim, but this Hybrid get the test on our First Drive around some twisty Québec roads.

    Happy to see a review of a model that isn't a top trim. Thanks. One thing that very few talk about in reviews is the quality of the stereo system. As a music lover, that's very important to me.

      Its decent enough, but nothing spectacular. We definitely prefer driving these trims as they're closer to what the average consumer is going to be buying rather than the top-end spec.

    This is my son's account, but I had to comment. We just picked up our hybrid preferred trend model a week ago. First new car in 22 years. We normally buy used, but this gets twice the mileage of our 3 row Dodge Journey, and we drive 50k km's a year with four kids in travel sports right now, so we will save a lot on fuel costs and that goes towards the financing costs of buying new, so it made enough sense for us. We got $10k trade in for the ol Journey, so we got a lot of car for $37k.

      Glad to hear it! The hybrid will definitely be a popular option, really can't go wrong with it.

    Sounds like insane fuel economy for the size of the car. How did you find it in terms of road noise, wind noise and damping on the crappy canadian roads. I do value quietness and supple ride. I suppose you didint drive it above hwy speed limit but wonder any wind noise from sunroof when closed. ?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 месяца назад

      Road noise was good, not bad at all considering I ended up having this one on some pretty rough roads. We do have the hybrid booked again later this season to do a full review on, where we'll be able to see what in-city efficiency will be like on a longer term.

    Great video. Just one nit, the video you are showing from Hyundai is probably for a different trim. Would be great if you use footage only from your test vehicle that you are reviewing.

      During the 48 hours I was in Québec for this event I had 9 vehicles to film, and I was told that the video crew on site was going to provide B roll for everyone to use. At the time I was already stretched thin with principal photography on all these vehicles, so knowing I could skip out on B Roll was a time saver. After the event wrapped I got the footage, which worked out to be about 45 seconds of video slowed down to 30fps.
      As much as I hated having to do it, I had to rely on the footage provided by the OEM to make this video happen due to the nearly non-existent footage I had of this actual car. We've featured the 2024 Santa Fe 3 times on the channel in less than 3 months, and have this Hybrid Preferred booked again in the next few weeks so we will be filming it again, at which time we'll have our own footage of the interior and exterior in that video.

    Maybe i missed it, but how is the engine vs the 2.5l of the regular model ?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  2 месяца назад

      Efficiency is a lot better on this, though the power numbers are lower you don't really feel it compared with the 2.5L version.

      From what we can tell you need to go up to the Luxury trim (in Canada) for memory option.

      @@PRNTestDrive I saw a trend hybrid today and it didn't have the buttons. I wonder if the profiles on screen connect to seats. Otherwise you can't get a hybrid in Canada with memory seats

      It doesn't, Hyundai split the old Santa Fe/Santa Fe XL into this for 2 row needs, and the Palisade for 3 row.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 месяца назад +2

      Yes, this one is finished in Pebble Blue, it doesn't appear this colour is available for this trim/version in the USA. Final fuel economy numbers after 53.5 kms of driving was 4.6L/100km or 51.1 US MPG.

    • @sayedengine
      @sayedengine 3 месяца назад

      @PRNTestDrive I think 4.6L happened at full battery 🔋 charge. Otherwise, the fuel economy will go up to 6L

    @PRNTestDrive, does it have a full LED DRL across the front grill ? I can see it does in your video, but in another video, they mentioned it doesn't come with a full DRL line on the grille.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  3 месяца назад

      This specific one does, the b-roll around 00:45 was filmed with this exact car. Whether that lightbar is on while driving I can’t say as we didn’t have a chance to film any rolling shots. This vehicle has the Trend package in Canada, but it doesn’t mention any change to the DRLs.
