I am crying again both over the song and for seeing our barefoot princess for the first time in many months. We LOVE you Angie.
Emerson you said it, this is perfection. I keep thinking about the 6 year old girl in a school studio singing with such joy and sending happy high fives to her grandmother doing the filming. Then on to NGT, a tiny competitor singing Billie Holliday songs to claim the title. Then taking on the challenge of covering Screaming Jay Hawkins' version of I put a spell on you at age 9 which became an instant worldwide classic. There were more than 100 other covers, including 4 original songs. AGT, a record deal, and now this masterpiece sung by a beautiful young woman not yet 15 years old. What an incredible journey. She is destined to be one of the greatest artist of all time and we are all blessed to be able to watch her continue to mature, develop and share her talent with the world.
Somehow her label needs to get her singing this live on the Grammys,for healing purpose's after Covid and because she deserves and needs the larger exposure for this masterpiece.Wonderful reaction Emerson,thank you.

Any day that we get something new from Angelina is a great day! Aside from getting a great new video, we also get a slightly different performance of the song. The control she shows at 4:00 when she cuts that note off cold, and then drops right into the soft bit.... that's talent. I would say that is "master level" stuff, but I don't think that covers it...that's Angelina level stuff ;)
Her control is out of this world, yet I cant stop wondering if that last bridge is the reason the video is taken down. Knowing Angelina, I am not sure she herself was 100% satisfied with that part, and after a few listens might have decided to do that bridge just a little smoother. I am probably wrong, but that was my first thought. It might just have been published on the wrong channel. You know I love her to the end, so I am not saying I didnt like that part, quite the opposite. I have wondered for a long time how she would solve the challenge doing that bridge live. I think she did an outstanding job of it. However she could easily have extended the last high note, and made a slightly longer pause before she took it down to the last verse.
@@sarlina1 95% of what Angelina does connects with me immediately... on the very first listen.... but there have been a few times when she did something unexpected and I wasn't sure about it the very first time I heard it (for example the extreme fry she uses in I'd rather go blind). Sometimes when she goes outside the box it can have an "unfamiliar" effect to it. Like... I don't know how to feel about it because I've never heard it done like that. Then, after a few listens (after it becomes familiar), it suddenly makes sense what she is doing, and I realize just what a master she is at her craft.
I think that hard chop she did on that note is one more example of that. I too had wondered how she might handle the part that overlaps in the bridge on the studio cut. At first I was unsure, but after listening a few times I think she did it perfectly. I think she could have easily taken that note longer and faded it out with her signature vibrato, and then paused before the soft part.... but that would have been more predictable.... and Angelina is anything but predictable ;) She took the more challenging approach to that part, and I feel like it resulted in more impact.
Rusty do you happen to know what happen to this video? It is not on her VEVO page or anywhere else now...the VEVO one says this video is private and nothing.
@@sarlina1 After the lyric video, i wonder how she would handle that transition from the "belt" into the soft voice in a live performance; I thought that sharp cut was an exceptional choice. But, another reason it might have been taken down was a mispronunciation towards the end; it sounds like she sings "...I can'ts make it stop..." Maybe they wanted to remix that.
@@ek-1707 I could probably point to every mispronounced word in Angelina's entire library, and it doesn't sound like her at all to take it down for "can'ts make". Now... if the bean counters are meddling in the production line, then it is a possible scenario, but I really don't think she would personally make that call. The little imperfections like that (and her willingness to leave them in their organic state) are part of what make her so good IMO.

One of the reasons for her virtually universal appeal is her authenticity. She expresses her feelings so easily, so sincerely. She does it so well, and so honestly, I am drawn to it, and begin to feel my own feelings.

Every time I think she has reached perfection she does something to re-define perfection and I have to adjust. So, I'm always holding my breath, waiting to experience the new reality. She never disappoints.

@@kallekula191 That´s a sad way to look at it. Yeah, no one can do better, but they can do it differently. Angelina is more than a singer here. It´d be a compliment to her as a songwriter if someone covered it. I wish lots of covers.
I don’t know of another fourteen year old that is as musically gifted, versatile, mature, professional and multi-talented as Angelina is. Angelina’s debut song is absolutely unique. It stands alone amongst anything being produced by news artists. Angelina’s innocence, vulnerability, integrity, authenticity and sincerity shines through every performance. She is a genius level talent.

I confess that seeing her sing, in this beautiful video in B / W is absolutely wonderful, after having listened to her voice hundreds of times in the previous adorable video with the drawings of her grandmother, to see her now interpret her song with so much skill, also changing it slightly, she is absolutely fantastic, it makes you stay there, in complete admiration of her evolution, as a person and as a singer, it's impossible to break away from it. ❤️ ❤️

Angelina has raised it to a new level again! Her control of her voice is extreme, and in some twists in this performance she moves through the notes with such crazy precision that you could think she is autotuned, which she of course is not. What a great song she made here. Healing for the world!

Thank you, Emerson for the great reaction! If not for a very few reactors grabbing it quickly, I might never have known about it. As others have mentioned, the video has since been marked as Private and doesn't seem to be on RUclips any more. I did find it on iTunes and purchased a copy and downloaded it, so I'll always have it.
I first saw the original and thought it was beautiful, then the lyric video and thought that was perfection, but the live version is even better. Hearing Angelina without all the effects is always better and adding in the cello only increased the emotional impact. Thanks again for the reaction.

Yes it was strange...it was uploaded initially at midnight and stayed up until 7pm then gone marked as private now...not sure what happened maybe UMG said she could not upload it? Not sure I hope they put it back as this should be shared to all.

Republic Records is not in the music business to lose money. Bringing Angelina aboard will keep them afloat for quite some time. I don't know what's going on with Big Machine Records but I hear Republic is also Taylor Swift's production company. This is only the start of a major run in the big time for this beautiful Norwegian, 14 year old, star.
