Never Stop Chasing.
Moab got hit on Saturday night and it put down like 2.5 inches in 25 minutes. Flooded a big chunk of town.
I saw that! A few rounds of flooding in Moab this summer
As former AZ residents, we never tire of seeing the beauty and danger of the monsoon storms. If anyone is in the area, the washes along the Sonoran Desert Parkway in North Phoenix get wild! Enjoy the SW, Dr. Timmer!
We had a wild one Friday afternoon in Scottsdale 8/12/22
Tucson here! I agree!
I used to live in Lake Havasu! I learned to love and appreciate the beauty of the desert while living there.
This is my favorite time of the year - people don’t understand the amount of relief you can get from a monsoon storm when it’s 110 degrees out and the temp drops into the low 80’s high 70’s.
Stupid Motorist Law
I’ve lived in the southwest for 16 years. This is my second summer in AZ and I never get tired of these monsoons. So beautiful!
If you lived here for 2 summers you say then you would also know Az really did not get no monsoon last year or the few yrs before that.. lol fckn liar
I'm really loving this calmer reporting, thank you, Reed Timmer! The emergency is still evident in your presentation but now I can hear every word.
thank you for coming west.
You have a beautiful home. I love it out here. Thanks for watching!
The wonderful thing about a good monsoon season is the greening of the desert. I just had a nice day drive in the mountains south of Tucson and it was dang near a lush jungle in comparison to the usual brown colors of the drier seasons. Sure, I had to deal with some rough (dried out) washes and some sand on the paved highways, but absolutely worth it.
Incredible! Astonishing to see how the desert landscape changes in seconds
Add water and poof .. flowers..❤😂
3:28 I really appreciate the oversized mirrored Oakleys - that way we can see the reflection of him rear-ending another car while driving and filming himself with a handheld.
Good content and decent photography. Thanks, Reed, you never disappoint.
Sorry missed the premiere. I’m here now though. 😄
So that's where all the rain went. It sure isn't in Texas.
I hope all that rain helps out. I imagine it's going to be beautiful in a few weeks when landscapes become green and blooming.
The desert already is green since it's been raining since July 1.
@Flextape Dr. Timmer needs a new ball cap, he has been working HARD for months and it shows!😍😍
Reed, I would love it if you could explain how the clouds actually hold the rain considering when you fly through a cloud it looks like a fog and not something you would think could hold rain since it is not dense enough or thick enough for my mind to understand how it is holding water.... it just doesn't look like it would/could. Thank you!
My brother and 4 others were killed back in 79 when a flash flood hit the highway at night. They were coming back from Prescott so you all be careful out there.
Super cool Reed. Thanks you wild weather chaser 😁
I am so very glad that you folks do these videos to show those natural wonders, to us who live distance away
Thank you for showing Flagstaff and the SW some monsoon love
Excellent, EXCELLENT video! Thank you Dr. Reed ... NEVER stop chasing ... be safe! D.🌻
Dang...That debris flow at 1.54 really shows how long it had been since rain last hit that area! Desert storms maybe crazy but I will take anything we can het right now and fingers crossed for good snowpack up in the Rockies this year and many more to come.
Reed, great videos. When are you going to make it out to New Mexico. We have had some big flash floods from major burn scars. Next week is looking very wet too!
Awesome video, thanks for that view 👍😙
Never thought I’d see my town,
Black Canyon City, on a Reed Timmer video!! Lovin’ the drone footage!

Should have seen the one in Scottsdale, AZ last night. Trapped a gal on top of a wall at the skate park. One minute skating, the next a 4-5' wall of water all around her. Had to call rescue-copter to get her out. Great videos Reed. Fan of you.
Glad everyone is okay. Another active day today it appears
@@ReedTimmerWx Activity in the fore cast. Time of the year. This one was fast. Real fast. Couldn't believe how fast that water came up. Poor lady almost got swept away. She was stranded on the "jump" wall which is about 5' tall. Love your shows, keep them coming. I spent a few years in Illinois from '90- '96 and have been through 3 tornadoes. Plainfield was right next door. Actually Crest Hill was across the street. Fascinating weather.
Vegas has monsoon season? Who knew? Nice & interesting footage. Thank you.
Vegas can get so flooded, the homeless that live underground sometimes literally get flushed out.
And snowstorms...
Oh wow. Beautiful with all the “waterfalls” but scary.
We have not seen a moonsoon season like this since about 2012. We have been under flash flood watches and advisories for about a week. This July beginning of August has been full of cloudy skies and high humidity as we are used to dry 105-120 degree weather. We are still looking at rain at least for another week here and we are loving it. Our storms pretty much happen at night and makes for great viewing especially if your in a strip hotel the views are amazing with all the lightning strikes.
What an active monsoon season in Mesquite, NV. and the surrounding area. Even had 2 small tornadoes on the ground in the desert area around mile marker 109 on Interstate 15, west of town. Thanks for visiting, I'm a frequent follower. Never Stop !!
Yes I left Mesquite too early!
Loved the rainbow😍
Great!
I miss the monsoon season we use to get here in SoCal. I've noticed since last decade there's been monster storm systems out in the Pacific where they flow freely with no anomalies but once it got close to southern California they either disintegrated or diverted around Baja and proceed normally across the rest of the nation. Rancher friends have noticed that too!
Yesterday afternoon here in scottsdale there was an extreme storm that came out of nowhere
Cool and beautiful video. I love the west.
My sister is in Encampment WY. Under flash flood watch there today. Excellent video!
awesome video as always Reed
Awesome, thx Reed
Miss AZ.. I was raised there.. taught as a young child about flashfloods, and snakes 🐍,,, it's beautiful country for sure...
Thank you for these videos, I'm always amazed at the beauty and power of the desert. Nice you get to chase storms and have a cold Pacifico, you can't hide my favorite beer.
Awesome! Cheers Reed!
I somehow have been craving flash flood content lately. Its just such a strange and fun phenomena to watch. Somehow found your channel and its been super cool to see them all!
Great video!! Thanks, Reed!
WOWSERS 💦
Keep up the good work @Reed😉👍
Thank you Reed for all that you do to show us what's going on all around us these floods and all the rain has been bad be safe Reed and God bless you for your videos
Very interesting, nothing like an on the ground look at the front edge of a flash flood! Great Job Reed!!
Wow love this video fantastic job Reed 👊🏾
A blessing for Lake Meade
Awesome capture!! Thank you.
You could build check dams along these washes to store more of the water, and let it infiltrate the ground to replenish ground water.
Cheers from another Reed here in Carson City, Nevada!!
Beautiful rainbow 🌈 full of orange & yellow
Amazing!!!
Is there a way to divert water, or contain the water?
Very impressive, Reed!
Nothing like a rainbow sunset with The Rim shining so beautifully....
Awesome job Reed 👏
We had a flashflood. A 250 gallon propane tank is now washed up against a tree in all the debris. That thing could start another wildfire.
That flex tape hat though 😆. That's alotta damage!!
Flash floods are scary for sure sometimes!
1:45 this is the wall of death, it could be reduced in certain areas if people were allowed to collect and burn firewood
Nice work! I love the desert and I too love flash flood weather. Not as educated as you as I prefer much higher ground. Thank you for all the time you put I. To making this video
That was awesome to see and learn from. Rachel in Kingman AZ.
With third sunglasses you need a pit viper sponsor
Such amazing, much-needed, content....THANK YOU.
(One minor point: It's pronounced "PRESS-kit", not "PresCOTT")
Thank you! I spent most of April and May in Prescott and most non locals say it wrong! Great quad cities.
Cool.I lived in AZ and NV for many years and have experienced many of these.
Most of this rain reaches the rivers and streams in the Southwest...Lake Mead I'm sure is getting lots of rain as well....
Family + I got caught in a flash flood in Canyonlands NP, 1970s. We were amazed that 1' of water could carry 2' boulders ,iles down the paved road. We outran the flood, raced our car across a connecting hiway, jammed it up a hill where we pitched our tent and spent the night, water roaring below. Next morn had to clear the road of logs + boulders as we descended several miles to the main hiway. A lesson in erosion + the power of water!
Pray it helps the reservoirs!
First of all, just have to say...I LOVE your content! I often wonder though, when you fly somewhere to do weather coverage and rent a car, and they see your name on the list, what do they charge you for coverage?!?! 🤣🤣🤣
The east side of the valley has gotten hammered the last couple of days. The west side where I'm at didn't get any.
story from professor, around 2010 el paso and las cruces had a 500 year event, we were literally doing projects and homework on rain totals and 100 to 500 year flood estimates for damage control actually going to predicted wash area looking at high water marks to get flow rates. he said in el paso i think or close his friend had a garbage can out, 17 inches in it
Enjoy your videos, Reed.
Oh yes, Arizona's chocolate waterfalls🤎😃
Awesome footage 😆👍🏾 stay safe
Well darn it, was hoping you'd find the big one.
Love the Glasses! 👓 💚❤️💖💜💖❤️💚
Beautiful!
bro reed you always coming in hot with them beats bro hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
You should have been here in Golden Valley, Az a couple of weeks ago. We had serious flash flooding.
Wow
I never do America had a monsoon season
Hi Reed! Prescott, Arizona here🤙
🌟New Subscriber🌟 I just started watching your videos and they are amazing and packed with great advice and info💯👍 The Southwest ROCKS 🤘
That would have been fun and educational to do
We're catching all we can in cisterns and dug holes near gardens. Built swales as catchments too. All well here at high mountain desert plateau hideout NM.
There has been some wild flooding in southern NM that’s for sure
Best time to rock hound after the monsoon floods stirs it up
Yes I needed to focus on that after the flash floods pass through
Awesome!
Man I know where a lot of these washes meet at in Nevada. There are Some real good ones
haha loving the send-o-vision goggles
lol
This was the frist year i chased monsoon storms it was amazing
I would just like to say I wish your blue text pop-ups stayed up a little longer. Trying to see the video and read there were few I got to finish despite really trying lol. Thanks!
Nice beverage of Pacifico you got there
You'd think areas with water problems would find a way to capture this.
Amazing
Love it
This monsoon season has been like nothing I’ve seen before. We had a microburst yesterday that took down a neighborhood full of trees in less than 5 minutes . Love your channel!
My wife and I and four of our friends got stranded in a flash flood near Moab UT we were four wheeling .we were able to get to high ground .Six hours we sat .
Abel is the man
He really is the man. Has a crazy story of a flash flood west of Mesquite NV
@@ReedTimmerWx Meeting people like him with stories that you’ve never heard in a location that is doing something very extraordinary is what life is all about!!
If arid states like Arizona had the proper water retention infrastructure to collect and capture and retain water during the wet season it could solve their year round water shortage issues and even have some agriculture. Also, these floods may provide opportunities to unearth some gold.
Good to hear an honest reporter talking about the weather doing it natural thing and not BSing people dropping the climate change crap.
'
very beautifully weather natural cloud pour heavy haily / rainy / snowy in the all citys / towns plus help hoover dam refill full water and floody...
keep continue rainy until december 2023
