This is a fantastic video, Thanks. I've been needing a new phone, as my Galaxy-Prime is out of date now (over seven years old), and this video has convinced me to bite the bullet and get a new phone. I'm pretty handy with repairs, but this looks like it would be pretty difficult for me to do. Thanks again for such a good tutorial.
Straight forward instructions for soldering a new charging port. Thank you for keeping it simple and pointing out the difficult part on soldering the micro pins to mother board.
Thank you so much sir for giving us all the knowledge for repairing charging pin. Especially like me im just new in phone repair. I reall want to be a good in androin phone repair. By the way. Its june 5 2020 Watching from philippines.
I wish this had shown instead of some other videos. You explain why to do something and technique that others dont show or talk about. I replaced the screen on my j7 and now it won't turn on. It also has a charging port problem. I will look and see if you have videos about that but I wanted to say best video I have seen on the subject. Nobody else talked about the little prongs or the little wires. The just did the 4 big ones and that was it. Thanks again.
Excelent cideo. Very informative with great visual showing and verbal explanation. I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime that has a charging port that needs to be replace, which as the charging port on my phone and the phone you used are the same, this video will help me in replacing mine.
Nice video! Novice question: After having essentially ripped the two halves apart without heating the glue, would it not be a good idea to heat the glue after re-assembly to make it settle back to its original bonding position/strength and perhaps re-tighten the screws a bit as it settles? -- It just seems a little too easy! ;-]
Hello! :) Thank you for taking the time out to teach us all! haha We have a question for you! What temperature on the heat gun and solder iron? Also, what's the air flow number on the heat gun?
I've seen people doing similar job but using the air station instead. They'd put the new solder in, then put the replace part on top, and then use the air station to melt the solder and fixate the part. Do you think that method would work on this?
@@iSmart1 I see.. That's a fair point. But I'm pretty bad with the iron, so I'm scared to damage the motherboard with it. What if I protect the insides with foiled tape? Would that protect it?
i am only able to get one open, i think it could be the Solder flux that is not opening up holes easily. I have the same Solder wic and Solder gun gets very hot
Why? If the mic was installed by hot air, then it can take it directly for a time... why protect it from a possible minor side blast now? It will not de-solder unless the heat is sustained. And he's using a very narrow nozzle and keeping it in constant motion to avoid that. So, unless you sell capton tape for a living, I don't see a problem. ;-]
Micro soldering is so sensitive- I’m not sure I could pull this through. Chargie USB stick is a sure solution as it removes charge port risk and prolongs battery life.

Hello! :) Thank you for taking the time out to teach us all! haha
We have a question for you!
What temperature on the heat gun and solder iron?
Also, what's the air flow number on the heat gun?
It depends on what heath gun are you using. I putted nine on the highest. Make sure you are not burning your motherboard.
amazing video
m3allam
Great video what heat gun would you recommend
Rework Soldering station 862D+

Hi! How hot must the soldering iron be? Thanks :)
Wonderful demo! Thank you Sir
can i use liquid tin on the charging port pins to solder them?
Sir super
what temp on the air gun did you used?
Approximately how much can I spend on those equipment. I already have soldering iron by the way. I'm based in South Africa
Around $100 with the soldering station.
Hey please help me, what the perfect temp to use
What is the name of the 2 device you put on the charger port before you heat it with sodeing iron..
Great lecture, thanks
Thank u for the tutorial 👍
Nice. What temperature on heat gun. And solder iron.?
I've seen people doing similar job but using the air station instead. They'd put the new solder in, then put the replace part on top, and then use the air station to melt the solder and fixate the part. Do you think that method would work on this?
yes, it's possible just the air station will melt the plastic inside the charging port that's why I prefer to do it manually.
@@iSmart1 I see.. That's a fair point. But I'm pretty bad with the iron, so I'm scared to damage the motherboard with it. What if I protect the insides with foiled tape? Would that protect it?
Hi sir what do you called that charging port so i can order on amazon,i have same problem on my phone.i hope you can answer and help me.thanks
i am only able to get one open, i think it could be the Solder flux that is not opening up holes easily. I have the same Solder wic and Solder gun gets very hot
Apply the flux first and add mor solder then remove it with the solder wick
I still do not understand
What kind of Solder flux are you using? Brand?
Is it possible to remove the old port without a heat gun but using a 450°C soldering gun?
same question i have. I would think the heat gun would ruin other parts.
It's possible but I don't recommend it at all

EXCELLENT VIDEO
Thanks a lot.

Good work but sorry you should protect the mic from the hot air first!!

If charging port changing doesnt work....what is to be done...please
If the pins on the changing port not soldered 100% perfectly it will not charge, you need to be 100% precise.
Thank you
how much cost to change port for grand prime i have problem with my port
The part itself is cheap but a technician will charge around $40
And what kind of charging port is compatible for samsung galaxy grand prime to order on amazon?thanks.
Micro soldering is so sensitive- I’m not sure I could pull this through. Chargie USB stick is a sure solution as it removes charge port risk and prolongs battery life.
I ripped the bottom half of the motherboard off from.the top part is this fixable
Do you have an email to contact you thanks
