I genuinely hate it when tech reviewers recommend airpods as the default choice for wireless earbuds. Yes, the build quality is phenomenal, and the sound is decent, but all of that builds quality, and technology is literally designed to be thrown away when the battaries die, and because that will be the default choice for most people, there's tons of e waste being created. Samsung made huge leaps when their original galaxy buds and later the buds plus dropped, and it didn't take much more than a vice to get them open, and the battaries came out with ease. The case battery was super easy to get, too, as well.
You forgot something: you must absolutely put silicone glue inside the headphones. Otherwise, the headphones may sound different, often worse, with less bass, or they might be louder but with more echo, or make strange noises when inserted in the ear.
