I cook them approximately 45 min to 1 hour for general tenderness. I do suggest that you taste the greens and give them an additonal 20 min for additional tenderness. You really can't cook these greens too long. Collards and kale have tougher leaves than their counterparts. Just make sure that you keep them at a simmer for longer cooking times. You don't want to loose all of the pot liquor.
