    I enjoyed it. STJ takes a taste of the onion pudding, “ewww, onion stay a vegetable.” Then proceeds to eat all his pudding. STJ, you are always putting your tastebuds on the line for your viewers!

      Sometimes, a dish is so bad that one can't put any nuance to it. Onions simply do not belong in a dessert. 😅

      @RogerRamjet If it had been a savory appetizer and not dessert, it might not be too bad: use mashed potatoes with beef gravy over that and the onion pudding. But that they billed it as dessert made him uneasy.

    I love onions! They’re good for you too! There’s a city in California called Gilroy. They have a huge garlic festival there every year. Garlic ice cream is really delicious!

    Sweet onions: it’s all about the soil. If the soil is low in sulfur the onions will be sweet. The same variety of onion used for the Vidalia sweet onions can be grown for ordinary yellow onions, but the area around Vidalia, Georgia has the soil that ensures sweetness.
    I’m not especially fond of sweet onions. If I were growing onions I’d probably add more sulfur to the soil.

      in my experience, sweet onions are best raw. Regular onions are better for cooking. Here in Hawaii, we have two areas known for sweet onions. Ewa onions, an area just 4 miles from my home. And the more famous Kula onions, more commonly called Maui onions. But only those grown in Kula, an area of Maui, are the sweet variety.

    There should be an Onion song! Onions are the great unsung hero! Onions are good on everything ...but I don't think ice cream or pudding. Our sweet onions here in the US are called "Vidalia" onions and come from Georgia. LOL the wig/hat. This place is fun!

    I honestly thought we would see the camera back away from the shiraso don and udon and there would be a plate of curry, lol. All the onion dishes looked so tasty. These videos always make me hungry.

    The best burgers I ever had were from a van outside a rock nightclub at 2 am in the morning when I was 19. I’m 53 this year and I can still remember the taste and smell😊

    I grew up in the states, Washington to be exact, and we have a city, Walla Walla, known for its sweet onions! I love seeing this which reminds me so much of my home!!

    I could probably do a day of visiting an island devoted to the most pungent vegetable on the planet. However, that onion pudding is my limit as much as I love the cooked version. LOL. There are some vegetables that should NEVER be a dessert EVER. This is one of them. Thank you sacrificing your taste buds on this trip.

    Another wonderful tour. I love onion rings and love them on beef burgers . . . the best of both worlds. Enjoyed the trip over the bridge and the view of the bridge from the ground. Loved everything. Will see you in the next one. Take care, stay safe.

    Over the bridge instead under it as you usually do...and was it my imagination but was the 'onion burger' a onion ring with a little beef on it (making your rings on the side a little redundant)?
    Edit: Also...the onion crane machine made the whole video worth it. :-)

    Someone gave my bil a big bag of small onions,the person apparently grows them.Small but tasty,MUCH smaller than your onions.I'm not going to be making onion pudding tho...🤣

    !!! When you got the onion ice cream I heard an old song by Johnny Horton playing called “North to Alaska”. My dad used to listen to that musician when I was a kid. Caught me by surprise!

    The small town of Vidalia, Georgia in the Southeastern United States is also known for it's sweet onions. Make sure you have friends if you order a "Blooming Onion/Awesome Blossom": It's a HUGE onion that's deep-fried and cut into strips that are breaded. You can NOT take on one just by yourself.

    I did a bit of island hopping around the Inland Sea some years ago and they had similar types of stunt products related to the local olives. Wasn't brave enough to try the olive ice cream or the olive soda, but I know that they apparently exist now.

    WHAT? No onion curry, I love onion especially onion with a bit of heat and taste but I draw the line at onion pudding. Though I was a bit worried as it looked like yours was getting too near the edge and about to end up on the floor.

    It's deightful that a community made their famous produce into a complete themed tourist attraction!
    Sadly for me, onions destroy my digestion, so I don't think I could visit and eat the foods 🤣 but kudos to this little island for making onions the star!
