I enjoyed it. STJ takes a taste of the onion pudding, “ewww, onion stay a vegetable.” Then proceeds to eat all his pudding. STJ, you are always putting your tastebuds on the line for your viewers!
STJ really gave us so many layers of content with this video. You know, just like an … onion 🧅 😂
Lol nice one
I just heard two drums and a cimbal fall from a cliff.
@@thany3 the punchline landed very well?
Oh 👏👏👏well done
or a parfait..
I think this is the first time I've seen Solo straight up go "ewww" at a food 😂
Sometimes, a dish is so bad that one can't put any nuance to it. Onions simply do not belong in a dessert. 😅
@@Remitonov Sweet onions have more sugar than an apple, I could see it done somehow.
The " eww" was so unexpected lol
"Onion...stay a vegetable!!!" 😆
I love onions, even though the crane machine game was a bit much 😂🤣😂
The best supporting role award goes to the beef 😁
Onion Land reminded me of the time SpongeBob and Patrick went to Glove World. The burger and onion rings looked delicious!
I thought the shirasu was noodles at first. The eyes startled me.
I thank you for the sacrifices you make to keep interesting content, even if onion pudding is involved.
He still ate it too!
It was a rude surprise for Solo 😮
@RogerRamjet 😂
@RogerRamjet If it had been a savory appetizer and not dessert, it might not be too bad: use mashed potatoes with beef gravy over that and the onion pudding. But that they billed it as dessert made him uneasy.
You've completed the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge Trifecta: Ferry, Plane & Bus. You deserve a medal! Maybe an onion medal? lol
Bungee jump next
Final Fantasy fans know...he is the Onion Knight! ;-)
Those onion rings would be a teaser. I could eat at least 10 they look amazing
I love onions! They’re good for you too! There’s a city in California called Gilroy. They have a huge garlic festival there every year. Garlic ice cream is really delicious!
Sweet onions: it’s all about the soil. If the soil is low in sulfur the onions will be sweet. The same variety of onion used for the Vidalia sweet onions can be grown for ordinary yellow onions, but the area around Vidalia, Georgia has the soil that ensures sweetness.
I’m not especially fond of sweet onions. If I were growing onions I’d probably add more sulfur to the soil.
in my experience, sweet onions are best raw. Regular onions are better for cooking. Here in Hawaii, we have two areas known for sweet onions. Ewa onions, an area just 4 miles from my home. And the more famous Kula onions, more commonly called Maui onions. But only those grown in Kula, an area of Maui, are the sweet variety.
There should be an Onion song! Onions are the great unsung hero! Onions are good on everything ...but I don't think ice cream or pudding. Our sweet onions here in the US are called "Vidalia" onions and come from Georgia. LOL the wig/hat. This place is fun!
You really know how to make a person hungry 🤤
It amuses me to realise that the fabric used to cover the seats on your busses is the exact same fabric used on some busses here in the UK
Same here in Indonesia😂
I'd swear it got recycled from old arcades.
I'm glad you tried the onion pudding. I'm intrigued. Thank you.
" onion stay a onion " No truer words have ever been said!
Great content as always. I love it. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍😍😍😍
15:20 wow I never knew that Johnny Horton was popular in Japan that's cool 😁😁😁😁😁. I'm a fan of Johnny Horton's history songs like North To Alaska, The Battle Of New Orleans, and Sink The Bismark being I've been interested in history since I was a kid.
I like Whispering Pines as well!
That onion pudding reminded me of the atrocity my country made. strawberry fries. Deep-fried potato coated in strawberry powder.
I once had onion and strawberry ice cream, it was surprisingly good
I honestly thought we would see the camera back away from the shiraso don and udon and there would be a plate of curry, lol. All the onion dishes looked so tasty. These videos always make me hungry.
I am addicted to Takoyaki and curry rice because of you. Thanks, I think.. :) I have a good place here in Houston, TX that makes it. Not sure how it compares to in Japan🤥
that onion claw game made my day
Another gem of a Vid ! I wonder is there a version of French onion soup ?
oh my goodness, onion isle is Real!!! Thanks for the vid! 🧅🧅🧅
This is High-End entertaining!
Hello from USA onion island is going on my list when I start traveling my friend I appreciate all your videos thanks for haven't as one of your subscribers be safe happy travels
Thank you for taking us along this place looked so fun :) 😍😃😍
A whole place dedicated to onions? My goodness 😮 I wonder if it's a bit smelly 😅 Thanks for the tour 🤘🤩🤘 (RUclips is still doing that annoying banner thing that blocks your awesome subtitles for 10 seconds, so I just rewind to see what I missed)
you’re making me HUNGRY and envious 🧅🍚 the first of our sweet onions aren’t ready until late June - will have to keep watching your video until then 😂🤣 thnx for this most unusual and incredibly yummy adventure 🙏🇨🇦
The best burgers I ever had were from a van outside a rock nightclub at 2 am in the morning when I was 19. I’m 53 this year and I can still remember the taste and smell😊
I feel the same with my first Döner here in Germany 25 years ago 😊
Jalapeno Cheddar Smoky Dogs with grilled onions from the hot dog cart outside the bar at the end of a Friday night! Well worth the mustard stains😊
Hello from the 🇬🇧,, I love this channel ❤
Nice video, been to Awaji Island before too :)
gomen nasai, I laughed my head off after you tasted that onion pudding.
I really like the paper on the tray when eating burgers! I would have saved that for my journal!
Boiled onions are amazingly delicious. Braised are even better!
I grew up in the states, Washington to be exact, and we have a city, Walla Walla, known for its sweet onions! I love seeing this which reminds me so much of my home!!
Loved listening to someone playing Tani Yuuki (タニ ユウキ) on the Onion Piano!
I visited Naruto University in 2002 to interview the Head of English Teaching. He was very supportive and kind.
I could probably do a day of visiting an island devoted to the most pungent vegetable on the planet. However, that onion pudding is my limit as much as I love the cooked version. LOL. There are some vegetables that should NEVER be a dessert EVER. This is one of them. Thank you sacrificing your taste buds on this trip.
You had me at "onion". I could live there. This place is like Gilroy, California, ,"The Garlic Capitol of the World". Lol 🤗
As someone who loves onion rings, this location would be heaven for me. ☺
Isn’t onion rings mostly eating batter 😄, i think some chef said that.
While the meals with the onions looked good, you were very brave to eat the whole onion dessert. I was glad to see a lot of exclamation points. Thank you for bringing us along!
Another wonderful tour. I love onion rings and love them on beef burgers . . . the best of both worlds. Enjoyed the trip over the bridge and the view of the bridge from the ground. Loved everything. Will see you in the next one. Take care, stay safe.
Too bad the day was cloudy, on sunny days the view is breathtaking. The large Awaji onions are great for making fried rings 😋
20:32 That egg burst, omg looks so good. 🥚🍳😋
I just subbed. How cute this place is . In America we have sweet vidalea onions from Florida.
3:21 "The bus to onion", loved this comment! 😂
Over the bridge instead under it as you usually do...and was it my imagination but was the 'onion burger' a onion ring with a little beef on it (making your rings on the side a little redundant)?
Edit: Also...the onion crane machine made the whole video worth it. :-)
I love onions so much I almost want to cry!
love fresh onions ,especially the sweet ones...but my stomach/intestines can just accept 1 meal before i start to "explode"😂
Looks awesome to me. I love onion!
This was a great video :) It is cool how you point out the routes of ferries we've seen in other videos (like the vending machine ferry :) )
Also shocked you didn't get the curry at the end!
I was waiting the whole video for...onion curry. :-)
Another great adventure to some wonderful local places you never get to see, thank you for sharing your day
This is a place for me! I love onions lol! Thanks for sharing 😊
You said ewww…. Had me dying, so funny 🤣
If I ever get to go to Japan, the only place I will never leave is the onion place! Thank you so much for your video!
Onion pudding looks like a vision off 21th century
I would love to live in Japan. Everything is so organised, clean and 'sorted'. An absolute paradise for OCD people like me!
Benefits of homogeneity.
I've seen videos of the monkey park there but had no clue about the onion attractions thank you for posting
I must visit this onion paradise.
What a neat experience! The onions looked delicious. I would have gone for the curry, not the tiny fish. At least the fish weren’t on pizza this time!
I found a place in Regensburg with a rich delicious tonkotsu Ramen, now I need to go there soon..😊
I remember our great onion shortage in my country. Its literally about $6 per kilo which is about 3 big onions lmao
We had a celery shortage in Canada a few years back😊
I love the onion fried in oil,
I love the onion when it's good,
I love the onion fried in oil,
I like the onion, I like the onion
Refrain:
In step, comrades, in step, comrades,
In step, in step, in step
In step, comrades, in step, comrades,
In step, in step, in step
Just one onion fried in oil,
Just one onion turns us into lions
Just one onion fried in oil,
Just one onion, turns us into lions
Refrain
But no onions for the Austrians,
No onions for all those dogs
No onions for the Austrians,
No onions, no onions
Refrain
Love the onion fried in oil,
Love the onion, it's so tasty
Love the onion fried in oil,
Love the onion, we love an onion
Oh I love here, I just loved the food and sweet onions on the bridge outside stalls. One of my best memories driving down from Tokyo and finding this place 🥰🥰🥰
Wow so happy I found this!! :o I love onion so much, hope I can visit here one day and hopefully taste the crazy onion desert
So much silliness! I love it!
What a good place 😆🧅
I can hear some Hongkongers talking in the onion restaurant near you. Hongkongers really love visiting Japan! I learnt about some travelling tips from your videos too. Thank you very much! 😊❤
Someone gave my bil a big bag of small onions, the person apparently grows them.Small but tasty,MUCH smaller than your onions.I'm not going to be making onion pudding tho...🤣
!!! When you got the onion ice cream I heard an old song by Johnny Horton playing called “North to Alaska”. My dad used to listen to that musician when I was a kid. Caught me by surprise!
Also “onion lol” made me laugh so hard
I went to Awajishima in 1996. I saw a big tear in the earth from the Kobe earthquake.
I went to Reichan in Hiroshima today. It was awesome.
ありがとうございます
And thank you for always giving us such wonderful things to watch! The burger and the sukiyaki looked truly amazing. It's a shame about the pudding, but i wasn't really surprised, I must admit.
I would love some onion rings right about now
🧅🧅🧅🫶🫶🫶😋🤤😋🤤 awesome video. Thank you. 🧅🧅🧅🫶🫶🫶
We are laughing a lot!! Super fun thank you 😂😂
🧅
loved the timing of..."or curry?" 'BING'! not lost on me dear Solo-san. 💜✌
The small town of Vidalia, Georgia in the Southeastern United States is also known for it's sweet onions. Make sure you have friends if you order a "Blooming Onion/Awesome Blossom": It's a HUGE onion that's deep-fried and cut into strips that are breaded. You can NOT take on one just by yourself.
The blooming onion is easy to eat by yourself if you don’t plan on having an actual meal lol
@@muffinconsumer4431 The one time I tried in 1999, I had had some chili before I did, and that might have been a problem. As you said, you go for the blooming onion, don’t have anything else.
As a native Atlantan, I'm surprised to see a comment about Vidalia here. I was thinking the same thing at the beginning lol
Lol at 13:54 I hear Cantonese speaking tourists 😂
I had a steak and cheese sub with grilled onions and onion rings for dinner before I watched this. 😊 Everything looked good, and it seems like it was a fun side trip. Thanks for taking us with you.
That was lovely to watch ❤ How is your stomach doing after all the onions?😂
"Do you wanna grab a bite?" - the answer to this question will always be yes... 😂
I did a bit of island hopping around the Inland Sea some years ago and they had similar types of stunt products related to the local olives. Wasn't brave enough to try the olive ice cream or the olive soda, but I know that they apparently exist now.
Hi my fav goodness there is alot of onions. Thank you for video❤
this is so funny and awesome thankyou for sharing with us!!!
I have only eaten the MOS burgers and I imagine it's something like that but EVEN better?!😋 @5:45 Someone playing the piano in the background, anyone know what song? Such a catchy tune!😁
WHAT? No onion curry, I love onion especially onion with a bit of heat and taste but I draw the line at onion pudding. Though I was a bit worried as it looked like yours was getting too near the edge and about to end up on the floor.
Thank you for a different kind of experience.
Onion Bhajis and Onion Pakora are ddelicious as well if we're talking Indian food!
Very enjoyable thank you 😊
i have a stack of onions in my kitchen... Time to get creative! (maybe not as an icecream!) 🤣🤣
16:06 so weird to hear one of my obsessions, Eurovision Song Contest on the STJ channel. In this case the 1967 winner from the UK, Puppet on a String by Sandie Shaw. Admittedly a fairly popular song, it's still weird to hear it in the background.
wow,la verdad no esperaba que existiera el paracio de los que aman las cebollas, gracias por mostrarcelo a el mundo
Love onions😋
It's deightful that a community made their famous produce into a complete themed tourist attraction!
Sadly for me, onions destroy my digestion, so I don't think I could visit and eat the foods 🤣 but kudos to this little island for making onions the star!
Amazing
I want to see you go to the town of Shiganshina for your next meal in the next video.
I hear the they have some of the best fast food on earth :)
I half expected to see an Oklahoma onion burger on the menu, I think it would be a hit there.
