I drove one of these yesterday and it was awesome. Have owned S13/WRX/fiesta/Cressida/Corolla. Its got bouncy suspension but the power it puts out you'll have to spend 20k or so extra. what other SUV can you get for ($34k) extra? you cant. I think he's being a bit harsh on the machine. If you are poor like me and can afford 20k for 7 years of hassle free, i'd consider test driving it.
It’s not a driver focussed car (which we as a minority would value) but for a relatively cheap and decent looking brand new car with a lot of equipment, it would make a lot of people happy who are just looking to get from A to B and coming from a 10-15yo car.
As someone who’s currently driving a 18 year old car (Mitsubishi 380) I see these “new” cars and sees it as an absolute downgrade to what I’m driving now… Besides the new CarPlay/Android Auto I don’t see what I’m even upgrading 😂
For what it is you can get a hybrid jolion for $33k drive away. Uses stuff all fuel, runs on 91, and for putting around the the city smoothly its a lot of car for the money.
For the price, I think it’s cheap for brand new car, especially this days no everyone can afford a brand new car, however, yes the engine and driving dynamics not as good as competitors, but overall this car aims at the younger drivers who really doesn’t care about the driving dynamics, someone just want to use the car as a daily and get from point a to point b. Obviously I won’t buy one lol😂 but honestly I think the design isn’t that bad … I saw a Couple of them
This is how you do a car review. Honest opinion rather than just kissing up to the manufacturer. I've said it before and I'll say it again - we need more people willing to do honest reviews and tell it how it is. Nice one Brett, keep up the good work.
GWH have been hopeless from the start and not gotten better. It’s strange since the H9 that’s years ago now main issue was a small engine that had to worked too hard.
Too many fashions in one spot and trying to be something it’s not…ever been for what today passes as a night on the town? It’s a perfect match for 70 of the clones (people) you will find
If you re talking about the CarSauce review of the 2023 Haval Jolion S... firstly it was a different car with a more powerful (130kW) engine. The version Brett tested has 110kW. Secondly they got 8.86 seconds on their best run, which is ~1.3 seconds faster.
I came for the 0-100 but stayed for the Existential Dread.
😊

@@mrx168more than 4 airbags and stability control for a start. Although man that 380 V6 was smooth.

6:16 Ha - did GWM really need to abbreviate the word 'please'?! Are there too few pixels on that display?

is GWM Haval a good brand and quality ? They just come to my country recently but not sure about the car quality example like Jolion and H6
One of the best reviewers currently...

lucky it's got those aero elements lol
I saw a couple of P platers in my area
with the new Jolion.
No way, That’s incredible!
It’s the equivalent of a $25k Lancer, Corolla or Mazda 3 now that everyone wants a small SUV rather than hatch/sedan
Car Sauce got 8'ish seconds from 0-100kph.. how is it you're 2 seconds slower in the non-hybrid?
@@TheHayabusa09 How many times did he test it? I usually do a few runs. This was the best I got. Maybe this is a sign of inconsistent engineering?
Extra sauce from car sauce and spicy
@@drivingenthusiastaustraliaOr inconsistent driving skills?

GWM Havals are for privileges not a right (of passage).
When compared with the other Chinese brands there are real issues with GWM.
