@@jasonclark1931 I suppose a fox would take them unless they don’t like them as I’ve never had any taken from the fence apart from when one neighbour didn’t like them like that and pulled them all off last year and threw them all over the place, I wasn’t best happy either and he knew it too when I had a chat with him and told him to leave well alone. This happened only last year after years of the same practice, folk should leave well alone and not interfere eh!
@@PorchpiperTom See where the mole was last digging and put a trap between the last two mole hills and try to find where they are coming from as there will be one main run coming from their nest that’s the run to find if possible and don’t make the holes any wider than your trap and make sure you rub your hands in the soil before handling the traps and if the traps are new then bury them in the soil for a week before you use them to remove any scent from them and make sure the runs (tunnels are clear of soil both was before putting the trap in then cover using the turf you dug out and cut it and place down and around the trap making sure no grass falls through then cover the rest with soil making sure no light gets through. And if still having trouble buy some mini marshmallows and drop them in the runs at intervals, they can’t digest them and will finish them off.
@@carolinarose704 Just me on the moles in that field Rose, Ally puts his sheep in there and they’ll be going back in shortly as it’ll soon be lambing time, some farmers will have already started but he has some of his that lamb in those fields.

@@TheNorthGAPiper Getting there Skyler but there’s still plenty to be going at and these old bones are starting to feel it too, I’d buy a second hand scrambler of sorts if I could afford one definitely make life so much easier pal, but for now it’s shanks’s pony 😂 but I’m getting into them once you locate that main run coming from the nest your on a winner but sometimes that can prove difficult as the run can be pretty deep and a sod to find.
@@palmer3977 The tunnels they dig damage the land and can damage animal legs if they drop through into the the tunnels they dig, also if we get rain the tunnels flood with water milking the land into boggy areas and then can lead to standing water. But mainly they can cause the sheep to contract Listeria through contaminated soil and the bacteria can get into the silage and can be fatal in sheep, so there are a few reasons why they must be controlled.
@@calibreman I’m as good as I’ll get Geoff, one day can be great and another can be completely the opposite due to spinal issue, but yes got my get up and go back of sorts but I’m on a lot of meds that take time to get into my system and mornings are the worst until I’m any good to anyone.

@@Wentz789 Having a day off today as my back ain’t too good but I had a count up yesterday and just out of those few fields I’ve caught 49 of the little blighters, be moving on to another part of the farm in the next couple of days if my back eases up. I could do with a little motorbike really to get around on as these legs and bones aren’t getting any younger and would make life so much easier, so I’m looking for something like a 125 scrambler or similar to make things a tad easier on myself, but like anything else it’s all cost and something I haven’t got so for the time being it’s shanks’s pony😂
