This is one of the tracks recorded for the Sony album which Ren was too sick to complete. It was produced by Eric Appapoulay. I think the drummer was Tom Frampton, and the bass was played by Charlie Fowler (both from Trick the Fox). This was recorded between 2010 and 2013, before he moved to Brighton, and several years before he met "Florida" aka Glenn Chambers of The Big Push
According to Ren's social media at the time, "Fire" was written and recorded in the last half of November 2011, at The Sanctuary Studio in London. You're right about the producer and bass player, but the drummer was Cassell the Beatmaker. He recorded the drum track on 22 November, a couple days before Ren finished writing the lyrics. In April 2012, drummer Tommy Frampton landed a mentorship with Cassell. At least some of the drum parts that Cassell taught Tommy were from Ren's songs (e.g. Cassell's channel has a video of Tommy learning to play "Bullet".) Meanwhile, Ren & Charlie decided to reform Trick the Fox as a trio (originally a five-member band in 2010-2011) to promote the upcoming album. They needed a drummer, and Tommy was available. He premiered on the Trick the Fox video for "Run Away" in June 2012. A couple months later in August 2012, Ren was forced to take a health break back home in Wales. The band tried to stay together for several months, with Charlie & Tommy in London while Ren was working from home in Wales (and in New York for a bit to see a medical specialist). But instead of curing the illness (Lyme disease, but misdiagnosed at the time), the treatments just made Ren's health even worse. Trick the Fox officially split up at the beginning of July 2013.
@@eryksun What a brilliant level of information ! Thank you so much ! Do you now if the intention was to release the album as a Trick The Fox album or as a Ren album ? Also, do you know if Charlie and Tom had a hand in the writing or if this was all down to Ren ?
@@sammyd8860 Musician-producer Eric Appopoulay discovered Ren while he was out busking alone. Eric offered him a contract to record an album. In the last week of October 2011, Ren and Charlie began recording tracks for "Freckled Angels" with Eric and Cassell at The Sanctuary. Charlie and Ren were sharing a flat in Bath at the time, and together they would drive 120 miles to London every week. Only Ren has writing credit. But I'd wager there was a lot of collaboration with Eric, Charlie, and Cassell. The details may be lost forever, unless someone interviews these guys about the studio sessions in 2011-2012, and secures whatever documentation still remains in the archives at The Sanctuary.
One other comment! Before you ask - Ren did EVERYTHING in the upcoming Slaughter House album. The beats, lyrics, directing videos, mixing and mastering. EVERYTHING!
@@saragates2255 yeah he's still gonna ask on every track 😂. My evil side is wanting to send a paid request to Kito for the Rastafarian Frog song he did with Liv 😂 🤣 🤣 🤣. I won't though. I might. I probably will. 😂 🤣 🤣
Wasn't Florida. He hadn't met Glenn yet. It was probably the drummer from Trick the Fox. But keep in mind that Ren was poor during this time so after he split from trick the fox he didn't have the money to be hiring studio musicians.
He was in trick the fox, he was playing guitar, Charlie on bass, and drums were done live in studio. Eric from Sony allowed him to use the music he did under sony since he couldn't finish the album. He was allowed to put them on this album....
EDIT: KITO YOU ARE MAKING ME LAUGH SO HARD!!! (BACK 2 ORIGINAL COMMENT) REN MADE THE BEAT! Yeah, it sounds like a throwback Jackson song. So, I found out after I heard it… that it was a produced Sony song…. Which is WHY it sounds so different and it was commercial… but it was commercially awesome! KITO! Love you, man! Glad to see you still on the REN journey. Loved seeing you at Vibe Reactions the other night.
You know you respect an entertainer/reactor, when you will watch reactions he has done before…. Because KITO is waaaaaaaaaay more than a reactor Thank you bro 🙏
I feel like this could have fit perfectly on a soundtrack for an 80s movie. More specifically for a montage during an 80s movie. 😂Yet another facet of ren, more social security numbers 😂💜
I just enjoy doing this again. you done this before you enjoyed it this time too bro😅. I like watching you watch Ren he makes you happy and thinking more then normal.😂😂❤️ Renagade ❤🇳🇴💪🔥🐇🐷🐰
I don't remember did Kito react to masochist yet because I felt like he was ready to write another verse for it once he started on his f***k all the things rant.

Think you’re missing a top 5 all time Ren tune bro, unless you did it one of your live streams I don’t see Hold On anywhere on ur page…and truthfully not sure you can even be considered a Renegade wanna be if you haven’t heard Hold On…ya heard!? My guess is it will drop Murderer to your 2nd fav song and you might listen on repeat for week straight like I did…but only one way find out, Reac to the Track brother and change ur life for the better and if you listen carefully you’ll hear what the ultimate goal of all this amazing music actually is!
