I did a light test for my arteza gouache and it really helped me out with knowing what I could do with them 😉 good luck Doll

Hello! PR149 is also not lightfast, or so I’ve read.

Gosh it's always red colours. I thought perylene colours were lightfast

@@alizafar2624 she's right im afraid about pr149 perylene scarlet . Perylene maroon is better lightfastness though . PR149 is unrated by the ASTM but independent tests have shown fading in tints after just brief sun exposure and darkening in masstone .

You are correct 💯. I don't have that one but I won't purchase it either for that reason. Some perylene pigments are better than others . It's really not our job to determine the lightfastness. The companies should be more honest and we * should * be able to trust the lightfast rating on the tube. Sadly I've come to the conclusion that we can't. All brands lie . So I am doing my own testing . For example QOR by golden uses PR177 as their " permanent" alizarin crimson . They gave the color a rating of excellent but sadly that's not the case at all . It is fugitive and not much better than genuine alizarin .

@@nicolemartinart5819 I hate it when companies use the word permanent. And I never trust their lightfastness rating, I only use it as a guideline. I can’t be bothered to make my own lightfastness tests, so I just get information from various websites and videos. I thought I’d point out PR149 because it is in one of the convenience paints you showed. Can’t remember which, though, sorry.
