- Steil Kranarbeiten has a large fleet of telescopic and crawler cranes, self-propelled and heavy-duty transporters. They support the construction of 2 wind turbines in Luxembourg.

What I see is great engineering, with excellent preparation. It also shows only a few technicians/operators are required. Nice!
When you need 2 smaller cranes to assemble the big one, you know your going to be impressed... wow. Thanks for sharing,
I work for a crane rental company. We refer to the smaller cranes as, "assist cranes."
We had 10 small support cranes assembling all the other cranes and unloading the wind machines and all their structures it was a lot of cranes that were very nice
Now THAT'S a crane!
😂
the wind turbines was the biggest waist of taxpayers money ever, but love the crane
May work for some countries, but not here😂😊 so true😊
Love this modern approach
Thank you for doing a perfect video on this. Excellent coverage, good music and great narration!
Man, you've got good taste! 👍
I wonder if they factor all those transport trucks into the carbon footprint of wind energy??
That wind mill will never off set the carbon footprint created, in order to manufacture it and the equipment created to set it up…imagine how many people were involved in getting the funding, designing, manufacturing, delivering and how much traveling they had to do. It’s like people who drive electric cars and pretend they are doing it for the environment, then take a trans Atlantic flight for vacation…😂
No
Well. As long as it feels good in some dumb politicians hearts and for the people who voted for them, right ?
I'll bet not and don't forget it takes 3 other cranes to assemble that thing
no
2006-2007 I worked as an AWS unlimited certified welder fabricating wind turbines.
And all this for CLEAN???energy😂😂😂
It's about free energy available from nature.
@@laurentbreyer and all the energy/ carbon it takes to make all that Equipment. Just to get ”free” energy, lady you are short many bricks.
And how much oil, energy is used to keep this monstrosity making free energy 😂😂😂 don’t be fooled !
Yep,many studies have shown it takes about 9 months or so for a big wind turbine to repay its embodied energy, after that maintenance is a tiny fraction of the energy it produces.
@@laurentbreyer 70 truckloads just to get one crane assembled?!?!?!? this boondockle is neither clean nor free!!! not to mention the large amount of oil based lubricants needed to run the turbine.
I would love to be working on that site. They have some nice machines. Top tech level!
😉
Worked on a windmill farm in Mojave California for mortensen we built a Libra 13000 with a 430 ft boom it came in on 49 truckloads it took seven men a week to build it and it was awesome biggest f****** thing I've ever been very proud to be on that job operating engineers local 12 God bless America
The golden age of America❤ we’re gonna need you to come back to work please 😂
“Green” energy? Cool cranes. That’s all.
WOW GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!
Diesel power to build wind power.
😁
this is my favorite video
what a tool amazing
❤❤❤ thanks for sharing
The expense of the mill will not be paid for by the end of the service life. The only thing flowing is the money.
The back mast has got more stick than most oil cans I’ve operated
Well Manitowoc, make your move🧐.
Why would Manitowoc need to make a move? Manitowoc crawlers have been left out in the dust for a long time, easily surpassed everywhere by Demag/Tadano and Liebherr. The only place where you still see Manitowoc Crawlers working in the Wind industry is the USA and even those are rare for Wind Work. American stubborn leaders at Manitowoc dictacted the end of their once profitable crawler line
👍excellent
I run one of these
When you tot up all the energy, raw materials, hundreds of tons of concrete in the base, all the resins, fiberglass, copper, plastic, rubber and goodness knows what else into each turbine then the astronomical cost of installing the damn things, how on earth is this ‘progress’? How can it help the environment? It’s such a load of BS.
HOW MANY MEN DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB? Without a wind turbine it doesn't matter. No wonder the cost of net zero is so high. Huge engineering accomplishments though, and a highly skilled workforce. Hopefully reflected appropriately in salary. And all so we can light that bulb.
ohne die Gruenen die Kranindustrie pleite, fuer jeden Ventilator ein Kran.....Demag lebt auch nicht schlecht.........
When you have hearing impairment this video is difficult to watch with background music
That's what subtitles are for.
After all that, we didn’t even see a lift. :/
The journey is the destination. This is shown in another movie.
What is the top speed? 😩😩😩
Travel speed max. 0.68 mph and km is it travelspeed
1.08 km/h
The green scam continues.
Yep, seems like a very high level of labor and expense for a unit that doesn’t really generate that much power. Might be worth it in very remote areas possibly though.
So true . Rate of return is RIDICULOUS on the investment!!
LOLerskates!
You watch to much fox,, losers

Marketing....but mildly interesting
What a waste of resources. Net loss.
