@bradswarren
Not filmed from a drone. It was filmed from WLKY TV helicopter while it was circling, with gyro stabilized zoom lens.
Version 2 has helmet cam video from tower crews

Exceptionally skilled pilot. Such a tight space to fly so accurately and remaining stable with such a large machine with a massive load
Are you talking about the one from which the video was taken?
Seriously, my hats off to the drone pilot as well!
Not a drone. Filmed from a TV station helicopter with gyro stabilized lens
👍👍
Sounds like a porno title
Absolutely breathtaking. Balls of steel. Excellent videography, too!
The work of the artisans who attached the antenna to the tower cannot be ignored.
100%!!!
WOW!!! Flying in between those guy wires that are only 120° apart from each other takes precise control of the sky crane. Improper use of the drone! It should be still. That background spinning distracts the viewer.
I’m pretty sure it’s a helicopter filming
either way(drone or chopper), that spinning is bogus. totally nauseating. i started thinking it was a green screen and done on purpose. 😂
Not a drone, video was taken from another small helicopter orbiting the area😊
I was really impressed by the pilot and operators's skill and courage
The cutest looking helicopter I have ever seen. The entire team is brave and super. I never saw anything like this before. May the Lord keep you all safe and strong
No.1 video of the world .. deserves Billions of views
Are you talking about the one from which the video was taken?
@@PavelMy178AC it was built in 1971
Respect to the entire team efforts.
Salute from Indian🇮🇳
Nice work, Brad. You may not remember, but you and I worked together at Horizon Helicopters back in the 90's. I just found your channel and thought you should know that I remember you with great respect. Looks like Erickson has treated you well, my friend. Regards. Mike Dye
Built and maintained these for Erickson Air-Crane for years, quite the aircraft!
Wonderful and amazing work by the pilot and the guys.Thumb up for him.
Astonishing and Hats off for the whole team so well synchronised
One of the greatest helicopters in human history. ✌🏻🚁
yep...even better than the helicopters than the Romans had
Wow.. Amazing 🙏. Big salute to the team behind the efforts 🌹🌹
الله
.....BIG COMPLIMENTS !!!!! to ALL of this grait crew !!! kind regards from a former AS332-Pilot out of Switzerland !!
I was a construction electrician. In 30 years I’ve seen ironworkers do some crazy shit but nothing like that. That’s pretty amazing. 👍
The drone guy has made the scenario more suspense than ever. Great camera work.
Yemen 💐💐💐💐
of course
Apparently (according to the original poster) this footage was taken from a local news chopper with a gyro stabilized camera on board. If you listen carefully you can hear the drone of the turbine engine in the background. FWIW.

Saw one of these skycranes in 1980 and it was lifting huge air conditioning system up on top of a 30-40 story building. Very impressive though these did have some maintenance issues still a great concept.
Wow. Just thinking the amount of things that could go wrong here. These folks must be incredibly skilled at this
I'm impressed. That takes nerves of steel. What a crew.
amazing views captured guys ,Thanks for shareing
That precision was awesome. Like threading a needle.
My knees are weak watching this. Takes special people to do this kinda job. With Pay!!!!
I worked for (Weldwood of Canada) a Logging company on the Westcoast of British Columbia, Canada (Toba Inlet) in the late 80s laying out Heli blocks that were logged by an Air-Crane, lifting massive fir, cedar, spruce, hemlock, balsam logs off the steep
side hills and water dropping the logs into the water of the inlet, had some pretty cool pictures of the Erickson Air-Crane in action
Very Cool. I used to fish up there. I would watch those Heli loggers in action, I still get goose-bumps thinking about that. - N Idaho -
These pilots and crew are hands down the ballsiest people on the planet! And I have the privilege to work right down the street from their headquarters.
Flying down between high voltage lines and guy wires. Crazy skill!
Literally no other name suits it better, Sky Crane !!! respect for the whole operation and participants !!!
Without a doubt one of the best vid. I have seen, good job.
A highly skilled pilots and a brave workers...
Also photography very nice.
Incredible. Great camera footage

Really mission impossible. Hats off
Incredible footage of an incredible machine.
WHAT A PERFORMANCE OF SKILL, ACURACI
AND COORDINATION BETWEEN THE PILOT
AND THE MEN ON THE TOWER. WELL DONE.👍🥇👍
Poetry in motion; fantastically skillful & brave pilot & tower crew.
Just wish the videographer had stayed zoomed in for the trapeze release. Was dying to see how that was done.
A release can be seen in this video: ruclips.net/video/90gF3UODJvk/видео.html
The lower hooks are electrically remote released from the cockpit
CAN THIS LIFT YO MAMA I HEARD YO MAMA TOIO FAT TO LIFT BY YO DADDY
Great Camera work!. You can see the workers Drinking there Coffee. Thats a Close up for the Movies. Nice Job Men.
Excellent! 😊Thumbs up to the guys bolting it into place as well 😎
It’s really ALL about the guys in the tower:)
And they took a short period of time.
You have just made my year,
Nimrod from Cranes and Hoists Zimbabwe
Amazing that those small engines have that much lift capacity
The engines have zero lift capacity. The rotors do the lifting.
@@robertpalmer3166 ...i suppose they have zeto rotation too ...🤔
I appreciate you struggling to make a point. Good work.@@nickmalone3143
heartstoping to see driver skills, how he moved slowly slowly
I see these guys flying all the time. They are headquartered right down the road from me.
That Aircrane flew a lot of logs back some years ago. Quite a machine !
I mighta been doing that then as well!
The u.s. army used that aircraft a lot when they had them in service
boa wie krank......solche leute müssten millionen verdienen. mein größten respekt.
What an epic video. Beautifully shot.
Amen.
It takes calm and extraordinary pilot skills👏
Awesome pilot👍🏿🤙🏿, it would be cool to see how steady and precise he's moving the collective, cyclic and tail rotor pedals
Fascinating look into infrastructure design, building and maintenance 👌Those guys on the top of that tower.. dangerous work for everyone involved but a professional and well-trained crew!
Wow most interesting content I have consumed on RUclips recently 💯 greatness unmatched!
Unrelated to the engineering, but the way the tower and the helicopter look like they're spinning/in motion past 6:20 is the same effect you see in lots of 'ufo' videos, and can give the illusion of huge speed and instant changes in direction when the object itself might be moving much slower, or even not moving at all.
Amazing, nice and beautiful video thanks for sharing WOW 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I always wanted to be a tower climber. What a beautiful view while you work. Vinco is up the road. 🤔
Wow that’s some amazing flying there boy!!
Awesome job gentlemen 👍💯
Respect!
I like the waiver and speech the Erickson guys give to the Ironworkers. " If anything goes wrong with the machine we will drop the load, period. " 😳
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😀👍
Really great photography skills 👍
beautifully executed task
I applaud the crew
Every inch evey angle amazing execution....thumbs up to the pilot
Watched a rescue helicopter, ironically, run right into power lines and drop their humans yesterday. It is MIND blowing to me that an experienced helicopter pilot could hit power lines. EVER. Barring any obvious anomalies.
Maravilloso trabajo profesional.
Expert pilot two thumbs up
👍 👍 👍 Amazing..
Perfect camera work
.
.
What a pilot! Very skilled and smooth! Ata Boy!
Impresionante la capacidad que tiene💪💪
Great drone and chopper pilot work.
Two questions
1. Is it allowed to use that area with such load or is it everyone evacuated from that area?
2. Is drone allowed to operate in such close vicinity of the chopper?
It’s a secure area, was not filmed with a drone, but rather a TV News helicopter with a great gyro stabilized lens
That news chopper orbiting around the tower about made me dizzy with the close up !
Wow. What a technogy.
All the best gyegs.🤝🇮🇳👍
Diy helicopter pls
Pilot handled very smoothly
Oh HELL No!!!! My stomach and legs starting tingling just watching this!
I think that sitting in that little reverse cockpit would scare the hell out of me.
handled very smoothly
Grazie a Dio esistono ancora persone così, operai compresi
Good video! I've got to ask: how is it possible for the camera to remain focused on the faces of the men while the background spins by as if the earth was rotating under the antenna?
Very hard work..salute all team..👏🏻
Wonderful job. Only the truly talented can do
What a heard work but team is doing best job 👌👌👌👍👍👍
Excellent photography
Excellent work
I appreciate your efforts
A thousand marks for this pilot
WOW THAT'S AMAZING
Que gran trabajo, mis respetos
Perfect, everything, every planing everyman...
Poppo
There are actually 2 pilots on these lifts: 1 flying the crane and the other facing backward controlling the line that lifts and places the object on the top of the tower. My brother was one of the " backseat" pilots. Yes, it takes absolute precision and coordination between both pilots and the crew on top of the tower using constant radio communication.
There’s actually 3 pilots, 2 up front and the one in back seat. Who was your brother? I should know him😊
@@bradswarren Max Evans
Say Hi to Max for me😊 He trained me👍🏽 In the old days they used 2 pilots once in a while, but nowadays we use 3😊
Brilliant job done 👍 by the pilots.
Damn good camerawork.
The exact same chopper that's also found in those Egyptian hyroglyphs.
I hope I get to work a job that has a heli crane lift someday. That'd be badass. I've been at one with Big Blue, and it was a sight to behold
💚💛🧡💞💞
Flying with that many wires and towers around, reminds me of the saying of 'being as nervous a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!'
Looks like very experienced pilot.
Super team work
And what kind of helicopter was filmed on?
