I'm a Liverpool fan & I watched the game tonight, it's refreshing to hear United & City fans also saying the ref had a shocker & absolutely screwed us, completely had our pants down it was awful, they completely ruined the match. I don't normally like slating refs too much because I don't think any of them are bias they're just generally incompetent across the board & give bad decisions against any team at any given moment, however today's match really made me question my philosophy on that, it was like every single decision went against us.
Curtis Jones got the ball & the ref only looked at the still of it right at the end when he made contact with his ankle without seeing anything that lead up to it showing him clearly getting a huge touch on the ball, never a red card in a million years, it's a booking at best if that. Diaz's goal was 100% onside, & if that counts Spurs probably don't go up the other end & score 2 minutes later so really we should have been 2-0 up by the end of the 1st half even with 10 men. & the first Jota yellow card was a full-on dive so he shouldn't have been sent off either, that's 3 huge decisions he got wrong before even mentioning the small things.
Credit where it's due Bissouma was an absolute animal, complete nightmare, caused total chaos in our midfield, we had no idea what to do with him, however it doesn't really matter & even Spurs fans/ players would rather have done this the right way by beating us with both sides having XI players on the pitch so it's a fair contest.
If it's any consolation, Arsenal fans are actually almost as mad as you for this robbery because:
1. Sp*rs
2. We had the same thing done to us last season vs Brentford
3. We know how it feels to be robbed by the refs, we got first had experience for over 2 decades when Fergie's Utd been playing with 12 men

Like Liverpool fans hate Man United the most historically, they're the worst, we hate City but only because of what they represent ideologically, we hate Chelsea but because Chelsea hate everybody, we don't really hate Spurs we just don't take them that seriously, but with Arsenal it's like the two clubs are culturally a bit similar, they're both successful teams with a winning culture & a lot of heritage, the rivalry is there but there's that mutual respect for what each club is & represents to their fan bases. That's why I thought the best thing that could happen this season would be if Man City somehow fell away from the title race & it went down to a two-horse race between Liverpool & Arsenal. Don't get me wrong, if that's how it went down I'd desperately want us to beat you guys, but say if Liverpool did finish 2nd to Arsenal at least we can turn around to Arsenal fans & say "well done, you deserved it, you didn't have to cheat to win & we were beaten by the better team who we at least have some respect for", & I like to think most Arsenal fans would feel the same way about Liverpool if we were to win the league & you guys finished runners up. However if we loose out in the title race to Man City I wouldn't be able to do that because I don't respect what they are or represent or the means with which they got to this position. My fear is that teams like Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs all cancel each other out & City go on to run away with it, that's what I realistically think will happen in my head unfortunately & I'm actually hoping we take the Europa League seriously this season & go for winning that cos we're the best team in that competition alongside maybe Roma, but even then we're clear favourites. But yeah, Arsenal & Liverpool fans I find are often on the same page, I should know, I've dated 2 of them lol.

No, liverpool were not robbed by our own goal in the last minute (NOT a tottenham last minute winner). We were ROBBED BY THE OFFICIALS, absolutely disgusting decisions in this game. The worst part is the ref that did it is the same one that denied wolved a pen against man u, and that gave alexis mac allister a red card against bournemouth. We've been shafted this game and the most we'll get is an apology if anything, DISGRACEFUL

As a spurs fan, we should've have done far more in this game. As great as Liverpool played and a joke of an offside decision, we were not good enough at converting good control in the middle of the pitch to goals... A game to look at definitely.
I don't have unrealistic expectation for Spurs. We're playing some good football and it's getting results atm, It'd be great if we make top 4 this year and realistically that'd be a great season for us, a lot of competition at that end of the table man.

Spurs fan here in response - ironically, it is harder to break down a team of 9 or 10 men because they set up to defend, in Liverpool’s case they were hoping to hang on for the draw. This was even more so after they went down to 9 men. Obviously. Ange had not set up the team to play against 9 men behind the ball. We only had limited attackers to bring on, and Son & Maddison already off. Perisic would’ve been useful in this scenario, and yes we struggled but the encouraging thing is we kept going and got the win without Son & Maddison our best attackers. I’m sure we’re only going to get better

Most smaller teams will defend staunchly like this and you obviously have to break them down and Liverpool did this with 9 men brilliantly, so I appreciate it was going to still be difficult, but you still, as the team on the front foot, have to manipulate their team to give yourself space.

Its unlucky but a correct call in amongst a few TERRIBLE reffing calls. If he went over ball by "accident" he is therefore out of control and a danger to the player.

We got lucky last night with the Diaz goal.. Previously Liverpool got some dubious decisions in prior games, including a certain CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL.
Jota still deserves a straight red from previous season for the assault on Skipp.. not much was done there.
We’ll enjoy the hypocrisy and not get too carried away with our start.. as we know our squad is thin and we need to invest in January for squad depth.

Quite simply that ref, doesn't ref another premier league game again, or there's no accountability. There's a level expected in every job, that if you fail to achieve, you don't keep the job. Quite aside from the shocking decisions that was a 12 card match. Clearly not under control= ref not fit for purpose. It also raises corruption questions of VAR and PGMOL, that's 4 reds in 7 matches for Liverpool with an average season being 2-3, yet only 1 is considered 'justified' so far. So are Liverpool now a 'dirty' team? Or is there an agenda at play?

Spurs fans can enjoy their moment and from what I've seen they are but I feel a bit bad for them if I'm honest. They've finally beaten us and nobody is talking about them at all because they were literally handed that game on a dilver platter by the match officias. If ever 3 points has an asterisk next to it then this is it.

The issue is not the VAR, The real issue is there is no real accountability, and there is no way to challenge howlers of the refs. So how can be sure that the refs are not bribed and influenced to support certain teams. They might lose their job but could have a large sum of money with a few crazy decisions supporting a team.
