Great video. Here's another accurate way to calibrate the a-frame: (1) Stand the a-frame up on solid ground (2) Mark the ground where the legs are. (3) Mark the horizontal beam where the string crosses. (4) Turn the a-frame around, switching the position of the feet. (5) Mark the horizontal beam where the string crosses. (6) Find the middle between the two marks on the horizontal beam. This point is where you want your final mark to be. This method can be done easily in the field and will work even if the legs of the a-frame aren't the same length.
Love the simplicity of that A-frame tool. As one of those engineering-types, I'm certain I would have come up with a far more complicated way to measure the exact same thing, lol.
Its very sandy and rocky where I live. Very little rain but its a pine forest. I made your charcoal kiln and now have charcoal for water filter and now mixing up ingredients to make soil, a sponge. Its only me and the work is challenging. Building terraces and directing the water flow. But if we had a big big rain, watch out!
I am just very greatful for unselfishly sharing your knowledge and talents. BTW, what do you do/employ to find where there is a very good source of underground water?
Thank you for this demonstration. If you have an area of fast runoff. Would my first position of the Aframe be over the runoff crack where the water has marked in the land like a vein on the ground and measure right and left with the Aframe. I hope my question is clear.
Hello sir. Thank you for your inspiring and informative videos. If I may ask sir, Do you have any tools or any practical way to find a spring underground?
In rainy day our garden get lots of water. But problem is in summer. Can soap ladden grey water be used in vegetable garden...to feed garden during summer.
Please correct the heading to "swale" I almost bypassed the video till I heard what you were saying and realized you were talking about contour ploughing
This is THE best explanation of how the A-frame actually works when making the swales! Thank you!!

Hello Jon!! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, you helping us the WORLD 🌎 a lot👍GOD BLESS YOU 🙏
It's a shame that the effectiveness of installing swales isn't common knowledge amongst farmers. Loved the A-frame demo 💚
What beautiful your forest is, thanks so much. Jesus love you.
Thank you for helping all of us I learned so much from you and I sent you my gratitude

Watching from india. Very good knowledge gained from you. Thanks for enriching our knowledge.
Made one yesterday and applied it 🥰🥰🥰
I miss your farm. 😇😇😇
Thank you Jon. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for sharing 🙏
Thanks from USA. Would love to visit you one day my friend. God bless you!!

Thank you very much. Most helpful and clearly presented, plus many other uses as well.
Thank you from Florida
Sister state. Georgia here too. USA.
Thank you from Algeria. I wish you a visit. I am your passionate follower of the rural village community
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed!
Thank you Sir. We learn so much from you. GOD BLESS YOU

Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Your English speaking skills are very good 🤩🥰🙏🏽🌈🌏
Love from India/ Bharath.
Lovely voice u have
That is amazing!!!
Great instruction Jon
So helpful, gracias.
I love my A-frame. And I plant *Everything On Contour.*

Thank you!
thanks mr jon. how about the endpoints of swale, what to do in case of overflow? do we need to create a network of swale vertically?
Can i use this frame to do levelling in my area
Tremendous.
In rainy day our garden get lots of water. But problem is in summer. Can soap ladden grey water be used in vegetable garden...to feed garden during summer.
If you use plant safe soap then you probably can
Sorry Jon what is the leanght of the string
Length of string depends n size of triangle....large A frame longer string small A frame shorter string ....
Long enough to cross the horizontal bar but not long enough to touch the ground
How do you not get bite by mosquitos?
We have some but not too much.
Please show a video of Energy free water pump if you have one at you area.
Your credibility is very very high I trust you.
Thanks
There is no "energy free" water pump.
Are you talking about a ram pump...it uses falling water to power the pump..
@@adrianbaker9804 Just google Free Energy Water pump .Asian people and languages.
it works on negative presure
Just run a string line of whatever length from the A frame to mark out the swale.
Also don't forget leaky weirs and water structures
Please correct the heading to "swale" I almost bypassed the video till I heard what you were saying and realized you were talking about contour ploughing
Thanks so much.
@@JonJandaiLifeisEasy its an honor and a pleasure, I have learned so much from you!
Or just plant more deeproot trees in the area
