  • Folding and packing up any awning can be frustrating and this is especially the case with air awnings with air beams to consider. In this video I show the best way I've found to fold up the Dometic Sunshine Air Pro 400 Caravan Awning. As a sun canopy it's much smaller and simpler than a full air awning, but the T shaped design of the air beams can make it surprisingly awkward.
The technique will be fairly similar on other brands and models.

Great tips and technique Dave, quite right air does get trapped otherwise 👍Thanks for the video

Brilliant tips thank you, you’re quite right getting it back in the bag is definitely a challenge. We certainly hadn’t thought about emptying the middle tube first. Obvious really when you think about it.

To be fair, we had had the awning for about four years. Before I finally decided that an awning this small shouldn't be this awkward to get into the bag 🤣.
I'm glad you liked it and found it helpful, though.

Hi Dave, just returned from trip having used the sun canopy - following your method was able evacuate the air, and folded up a breeze. The marker light protector works great, thank you (you should market them)👍

I use the pump in deflate mode to extract the remaining air.

Unfortunately most of the current Dometic pumps don't have a deflate option. The older electric pump did, but that is discontinued I think and the newer model (which I have) is inflate only.
